I was hoping that consequences of hard mode would be more realistic, such as: 1 - broken AC system; 2 - very acidic smell of sweaty socks (different flavors for each train car); 3 - endless queue to the shitter due to that one guy who sits inside the whole trip.

The concept is unironically interesting to me, if it actually worked. Doesn't even need gameplay systems or dialogues or anything, just the virtual turism seems very relaxing. Maybe just a voice-over talking about the culture and regions. I think its really cool that gaming technology can be used to create virtual experiences that aren't games
I totally agree. I showed this to a non-gamer friend of mine, and she said that games like this and Airplane Mode (which I told her about) work well as a form of virtual experiences for people who want them. In fact, there's a game called The Ship that I like for a similar reason. It's not much of a "game," but it kinda works as a virtual tour of fictional cruise ships.

What’s the difference between the Russian train and any other? Well, as a Russian myself, I can tell you, that this is very cozy (especially with a nice company) and very discomfortable (because of so-called “плацкарт" type of wagons) at the same time.

The closest thing that I have to these games are my cooking which is usually half baked
