  • This tutorial shows how to make a geometric semicircle pendant. This is a beginner level project. For materials, I used 18 gauge sterling sheet, and 10 gauge sterling square wire. As always, I use hard silver sheet solder and My-T-Flux from Rio Grande.
It is important to use safe practices when dealing with fire, sharp tools, and chemicals. Here is a video on safety: • General Silversmithing...

Beautiful, thank you for another great video. I also keep forgetting to mention...I gave setting a bezel with my pliers like you do and wow! I love it, I have much better grip and control rather than using a bezel rocker ect. So thank you!

Awesome about Pepe, and having an upgrade in your rolling mill! I think a good quality rolling mill is each jeweller's dream tool to have.

Beautifully done, Chad! Great design. That Pepe Tools rolling mill is also a thing of beauty. It’s on my dream list. Pepe has LOTS of great tools. I highly recommend their disc cutting and centering dies. You’ll wonder why you ever tolerated the frustration of the cheaper ones.

@chadssilversmithing I bet!! It's the only one ive ever used so I can't compare it, but if anyone is looking for a rolling mill and it's within their budget I can attest to the fact that Pepe's rolling mills are totally worth the investment.

You know me I always stop in the middle of the video because by the time it’s over with I’ll forget what I wanna tell you. Ring benders are great if you get one that’s metal on metal. I suggest you putting a thin piece of leather in between your ring binder so it doesn’t mark up your metal.. or you can get one with the nylon jaws. Now the best one to get is like what David sells it Pepe tools. But I don’t have one of those yet. All these fancy tools now that make it so much easier to bend metal. It’s just crazy. Anyway, anyway, that’s what I wanted to tell you about a ring binder tool. OK back to watching your super cool video. Hugs 🤗, Michelle

Hello Lee! I do a little prepolishing with a rotary tool. Here’s a video: ua-cam.com/video/OpllnTnspTM/v-deo.htmlsi=bRQYaMkWVQI6lmop. Then I use a full size buffing wheel: ua-cam.com/video/IvSeAi_D9T0/v-deo.htmlsi=LyX0nr2PRv1rB3R5.

I have made a few pendants like this but I used reticulated silver for my texture side and then very thin facing of polished silver on other side. I like your bail. I notice you never hallmark your pieces. Is this just for the demonstration?
