    Your kit is always clean and ready.
    It drives my missus mad that I spend more time sorting out my kit than I do using it.

    Lovely review Rob. My grandad has a 19” Honda self propelled with electric start (HR2160 I think was the model) and he loved it (so did I as a kid!). The HRX 476 looks a lovely mower but as you have rightly said you need the right type of lawns to get the best out of it.

    Hi Rob,
    Another great knowledgeable video sharing your thoughts on your rear roller.
    I went solo this year and my first purchase of mower was Stihl 545RM which gives a good finish and is good in the wet too.
    I will be looking for a second mower to share the load moving forward but will more than likely be at the start of the next season.
    Nothing is growing down here in Kent thankfully I have many maintenance clients and a few of the grass cutting clients have asked for alternative tasks to be completed which always helps + I have a few hedge cuts to complete wish are a bonus in this dry period.
    Hopefully The Green gold might start growing again down South🤞😁
    Take care Rob.!

    Hi Rob, I enjoyed your review and agree with you on just about everything you spoke about, however I'd like to share my experience of the mower as I have the exact same one which I bought in May this year, on my first use of the mower a plastic piece from underneath came off but i convinced myself that I'd just gone over it so continued to use it until last week when the self propelled stopped working I tool it back and was told that two bolts from underneath had come out and had done a lot of damage to the mower I'm currently waiting for them to get back to me to as they have had to get intouch with Honda to see what they say, I paid a little more for my mower £1190 🤬 hopefully things get sorted soon, keep the up with the good videos and the honest feed back you give us 👌

      I am sorry to hear that Gary. Fingers crossed that Honda do the right thing.
      I bought a copper pergular back pack sprayer , after two days work it’s started to leaf. The place I bought it from are being helpful. It’s bloody annoying.
      Let me know how you get on.
      All the best.

      Hi Rob, update on the mower, had the call from Higgotts to say the mower was ready to collect the guy there shown me exactly what had happened you have three bolts underneath that hold the engine in place the first come out on the first use of the mower the second one came out a couple of months later and damaged the undercarriage, to be honest I hadn't used it that much hopefully alls good now.
      Regards Gary

    Hi rob,
    I have found over the years a slightly slower mower give a finer cut.
    I have a push mower a cobra with a roller for small lawns and a bit like when you ( or the wife )😊 hover the slower you go the better the job looks.
    Still no rain down here in devon...😊😊😊😊.

    I’m buying my first mower for lawn care jobs. I’ll be working on lots of posh gardens, who I imagine will like stripes 🤔. Not sure what to do. Also looking at the etesia pro 46. I probably need both machines? What do you think? Great review 👍!

    I love roller mowers but I prefer one that mulches / collects . HRN 535 I purchased. £780 honda. 🙃

    You know I love my shaft drive Weibang. Powerful, great in the wet, cut through anything. BUT. I'd never diss a Honda. They make quality machines. No one can argue with that.
    Personally, I'm not over keen on roller mowers. But a stripe does look good. Again, you can't really argue with that either.
    My spending on new toys, sorry. Tools. Has stopped now. As I see a down turn in earning coming all of our ways. Due to a world wide economic down turn.

      Your so right Gary. It all about saving now and trying to be economical. No more kit for me unless it breaks.
      I feel a video coming on the subject.
      All the best. 👍🏻

    Thinking of buying an older 21inch one but full working order good condition for a half acre garden but on a slope do you think it would be suitable?

      The Honda hrx 537 four wheel mower is great and it offers a mulching services. Good luck and thanks for your comment.

  • @rooroo3199

    Newbie question. Why do some mowers work better in the rain? And why would you need to cut higher than the Honda cuts as it has a choice of heights?

    • @maxwellsgrasscuttingservices
      @maxwellsgrasscuttingservices  2 роки тому +3

      Rear roller mowers don’t cut as high as a four wheel mower.
      Plastic box mowers like stihl, have better air flow, hence they collect in the wet better.
      All the best.

    Hi Rob, ive seen youre review of the honda hrx426. You said in that review that it didn't cut high enough, only 55mm. But this is only 58mm. Not much difference. Hav you changed youre mind about the hrx426 then?
    Thanks👍🏻

    • @maxwellsgrasscuttingservices
      @maxwellsgrasscuttingservices  Рік тому +1

      The 426 was a little too small. It’s still a nice mower.
      I do prefer the hrx 476 rear roller over it’s smaller brother.
      It’s all about personal preference.
      Thanks for watching and your comment.

    • @royroberts3128
      @royroberts3128 Рік тому +1

      Thanks for your reply.
      Im thinking of buying a hrx426 rear roller tomorrow, but im worried about it only cutting up to 55mm.
      My lawn (190sq m) is only 7 weeks old (reseeded) and has already had 3 cuts.
      My old lawn was around 70mm but suffered with thatch badly.
      If i went on holiday, and cam back to lawn at about 75/80mm would the 426 cut it??
      Many thanks
      Roy

    • @maxwellsgrasscuttingservices
      @maxwellsgrasscuttingservices  Рік тому +1

      Yes , as long as the grass is dry.
      Double cut it on the highest setting.
      The Honda rear rollers don’t like wet grass.
      Good luck.

      Wayne, don't know about Rob, but I've had one of those. Son works nights 😴. I always have a small pot for customer/public relations. As I was doing an all morning at my most loyal customer's, I bit my tongue, purchased a bottle of wine and chocolates on my break from a newsagents and went and knocked on. She was so surprised, she then asked me to quote some work! I politely turned it down.
