“Don’t you know what I’ve done?” “YES!” I love that cause Kratos knows exactly what thors done cause he’s done those things if not worse 4 times over
Oh, waaay worse. Thor ended a race, maybe more. And killed innocents.
Kratos ended an entire Pantheon and so many innocent mortal (even a few immortal) lives with it.
Thor has his sins, but compared to Kratos, there's simply no comparison. The Ghost of Sparta is WEARING his previous family, for goodness sake.
@@pn5705and left greece in ruin
what thor has done??
@@charlesmorello5641 As far as Thor knows? He wiped out the Giants and conquered only Odin knows how many other races and forces that the All-Father saw as a challenge or threat to his power.
Kratos killed everything ABOUT Greek myth... human and God alike...
"For sake of our children..." kinda felt wholesome to hear it from strongest man said it to other strongest man
The next generation is where it begins... our seed
From one parent to another.

Both destroyers understand the amount of blood in their hands and they finally had enough.
Yea until fucking Odin killed Thor 😢damn I wish Thor countered Odin and if we would of had Kratos,Freya,Atreus,Mimir and Thor vs Odin lmfao that would of broken the fucking Internet
@@TheGrandUsurperOfDeath I was enrage by that
@@sphere7158 me 2 brother we all were enraged by that Thor died by Odin WAYYYYYYYYY TOO FUCKING EASY IF KRATOS COULD SURVIVE GETTING STAB IN THE CHEST WITH THE FUCKING BLADE OF OLYMPUS THEN WHY COULDNT THOR SURVIVE GETTING STABBED IN THE CHEST BY ODIN LIKE WTF WHAT KINDA BULLSHIT SENSE DOES THAT MAKE
@@TheGrandUsurperOfDeath That would of been beautiful
You can also see that Thor nods in agreement to Kratos as he lowers his hammer, just before the video ends.
Both destroyers want to be better, and it sends a heavy message to the players.
"Your Daughter"
"My son calls her Friend"
Putting aside your quarrel with another adult for your child's friendship.
"For the sake of our children, we must be better"
Best scene and quote I have to say.
Either this, or the 'Open your heart' scene. Both explore the same idea, but I like Kratos giving Atreus props.
man they could've had the most BADASS tag team battle against odin
a bunch of ice and lightning, shaking the realms because of their pure strength
Plus it would have been really satisfying to see Thor kick the shit outta Odin
Kratos and Thor's tag-team attack would've been brutal with both weapons smashing Odin's skull in.
Jesus saves 🤍
@@theoutdatedmeme3028my friend Jesus from Mexico says he doesnt have time right now
Thor could’ve taken on Odin all by himself had he gone to therapy.
Notice how even in their first fight kratos doesn't use rage against thor in the cutscenes. I think this is very telling to how he can't bring himself to hate thor. Kratos killed magni and he takes responsibility for modi's death. As a father Kratos appeals to Thor's feelings and even in the end this is what he wanted for thor, for him to make peace and move forward. BE BETTER.
Rage wouldn't work against someone like Thor anyway
@@hayashida14 Jesus saves 🤍
It's also because of the reason he attacked Kratos.
"STAY AWAY FROM HER"
-Thor, as he flew at Kratos
Thor thought he was defending his daughter, he wasn't flighting for Odin. The first thing he addressed after asking why Kratos spared him was his daughter. Kratos KNEW he was worth saving.
Exactly, kratos only attacks thor out of self defense, once he's subdued he stops attacking Thor. On kratos part it shows just how much he's changed as well as how much he sympathizes with Thor
@@hayashida14 The ghost of sparta's rage would
did Kratos just use Talk-no-jutsu? Damn, they say parenthood brings the best in people but this is a whole new level.
He did try talk no jutsu with baldur before. But it ended badly for baldur.
@@buildsparkling8911 Not really, It was more on the lines of "don't fuck with me or i'll kill you" the most he tried with baldur was when he told him not to chase them nor touch harm Freya. Not really a conversation but a threat and an order.
@@juantonio0788 he tried talking him out of it just before their fight tho
@@juantonio0788before their last spat kratos told baldur that “the path of vengeance would bring him no peace” but baldur was too far gone to truly grasp what that meant
When Thor says “Don’t you know what I’ve done” it almost sounds like he actually wishes for death and wanted to convince Kratos to follow through with killing him. Thor and Kratos are two sides of the same coin and their roles could have been switched and Kratos could have easily ended up like Thor and became the monster that everyone said he was.
If anything, Kratos at one point totally was that very monster. GoW3 proved it. And like Thor, he just wanted to be left at peace. All Thor really had left was his kid, the last sliver of hope to show him that he truly could change, or at the very least, try.
Thor is Kratos, if he had never gotten out from under Zeus’s control.
Kratos already experienced what Thor experienced already. And it become the worst nightmare one could imagine.
Jesus saves 🤍
Like Kratos would have been drunk and just throwing his spear like Thor did with his hammer ?
My favourite thing about this is that if kratos did the usual and tried to kill thor in ragnarok the prophecy of the Norns said Thor would kill him. It was only by overcoming his monstrous side and embracing his role as a god war that strives for peace that he averted that prophecy.
Trully the victory our boi Kratos deserved.
Couldnt be more impressed by his character arc. Hands down best main character story arc in any game i ve played.
Thor can’t kill kratos, everytime kratos fought him he held back
@@anas-432 Naah Thor was supposed to kill him.
@@anas-432 He actually did kill him first time they fought. Sure kratos was holding back but so was Thor. He didnt turn into his lightning fatman mode :p
Technically the prophecy was right thor kills Kratos then resurrects him and Atreus serves Odin even if he was trying to play him and it ends with ragnarök, in Norse mythology trying to stop fate always makes it happen
@@0Davy0Jones0 na he knocked him out
Kratos is basically an older, wiser Thor thats done all those things and worse. It's such a great scene, because its essentially Kratos talking to his younger self, begging him to change.
Imagine a prequel game about Thor. We will play as the villain, telling his story from the start, getting his hammer, slaying the strongest giants, etc. That would be awesome!
How when he’s fucking Dead because of Odin
@@TheGrandUsurperOfDeath do you even know what the word "prequel" means?
@@regginsouth9565 lol I know exactly what it means but Thor is dead I promise you if there was a sequel that Santa Monica would let us know about it but there might be a sequel with Atreus and Sindri because I saw that somewhere and Santa Monica talked about that I hope they can make a sequel about Thor but I doubt it since Odin killed him if they were to make a sequel then they would need to find a way to bring Thor back to life which they won’t do
Directed by Neil Druckmann
@@TheGrandUsurperOfDeath You sound like you don't know what a "prequel" means.....
That scene where Leviathan and Mjolnir clash. We’ve waited for that scene since 2018.
3:14 I like the little nod they gave each other 😊
Yep I noticed 😊 quick nod but i have good eyes
As a father, whose own father had serious flaws and wishes he had been better...Thors death hit me much harder than any other character in this game.
I think the words "I have never seen a man so broken" could also be used to describe Thor here...just a man beyond abused and just used like a tool...there is like shred of a person left and trying to regain control
thor needs his own game
They could make a spin-off
Lol how when he’s dead because of fucking Odin
Lets hope he'll return in a future dlc or expansion pack, perhaps in the one about atreus looking for the surviving giants that they no doubt will make in the future.
@@TheGrandUsurperOfDeath I’m saying his own story like before he died
@@zLeafyy I wish Thor was still alive he died way too fucking easy by the hands of Odin that was fucking ridiculous Thor should of put up a fucking fight not die that easily how can Kratos survive The Blade of Olympus he even has a scar because of it and Thor can’t survive Odins tiny ass spear what the fuck?!?!
They could have been best of friends if it was for Odín that bastard
Exactly my point
I wished that didn’t happen to Thor
*who know maybe bring him back by getting ALL his souls in the lake of souls, be back next game? Lol*
Man I grew up with the OG GoW games and seeing how Kratos has developed and finally made peace with his past and resolved to be better in the future.. this game is a masterpiece idc what anyone says it was game of the year.
2:15 is peak Kratos
I love this scene. Krakow talking to Thor is like Keaton talking to his younger self. Trying to convince him to change his ways, to be a better person, and a better father.
The only reason why Thor was fighting as feircely as he was is because he was convinced that Kratos was going to harm Thrud. He saw Kratos with Thrud and assumed that he'd tried to kill her. To be honest, it's a fair assumption considering Kratos's reputation as a God Killer, and the fact that Thor had already lost his sons to him.
Thor only calmed down once he realized that Kratos meant Thrud and even him no harm.
Kratos on the other hand understood Thor's intensity because he would've behaved the same way if he was convinced someone was going to kill Atreus.
2:47 That, Neil Druckmann, is how you make the protagonist sparing a villain feel satisfactory
There was good motivation, was very well justified and had a lot of character growth
If you notice, this isn’t Kratos just flat out refusing to kill Thor because he thinks it would be wrong to do so… this is him giving Thor a chance. A chance to “be better,” and with good reason. If Thor doesn’t take it, well… we saw what happened when Odin refused the same offer
@@mrdropkicker1 It actually keeps of the character of who Kratos is now. Everyone forgets he gave Balder the same chance he gave Thor. But Balder wouldn’t listen.
@@mrdropkicker1 For sure! I thought the same thing
@@assassinsknight That makes it better because it means Thor wasn't as far gone as everyone thought he was.
It makes it worse because it means that Odin is a piece of shit.
Kratos sparing thor and Ellie Sparing abby are two totally different scenes Ellie spared Abby for different reasons than why Kratos spared Thor for Ellie sparing abby is more for her and letting go of this obsession with getting revenge cause its done nothing but cause her even more pain Kratos sparing thor is Kratos sympathizing with Thor because he knows that Odin is the real problem but u wouldn’t get that cause u people need everything spelled out for u
It's shit that thor had to die a minute after he makes peace. But at least he did.
at least he managed to defy his father for once.
Woulda been so cool if Odin hadn't killed Thor, and Thor ended up fighting alongside Kratos against Odin. After the fight he just retires and bequeaths Mjolnir to Thrud, and we can just find him chillin somewhere.
2:39
The peanut and immune system in my friend finally deciding to not fight
"Do not be sorry, be better"
If you speak things enough times it will become true
WE MUST BE BETTER
I don't disagree with you but the kratos doesn't just say these things enough to make them real every action he takes in the Norse games has a purpose and if people stop trying to kill him and or his son I'm sure kratos would leave them well enough alone. He's not like kratos was in the Greek games where he seeks out violence in retribution. He has seen where that road ends and is actively making choices to avoid falling into the same traps that he fell into as a younger man and trying to show atraeus these traps so if he does not fall for the money either. Speaking things to manifest them is a good start but you also need to take active steps to make things real not just say them and hope they happen.
I found it hilarious that kratos grounded Thor here with his knife to dissipate his thunder/lightning lol haha 😅
Thor was told his whole life that he cannot change. That a destroyer is all he could be and all he was by Odin.
Were it not for him, I think Thor would've been more like the Kratos we follow now. Poor guy lived his life being told what to do by someone who only viewed him as a weapon.
Thor takes all of Kartos' weapons, axe twice to the gut, then the blade to the gut and spear to the shoulder. But one strike from odin and he's saying,
I don't feel so good.
Gungnir (Odin's spear) has the ability of always giving a sure kill
A spear to heart hurts way more than a cut on belly.
This scene kills me, well, what happens right after, that is. Kratos finally gets through to Thor about how they need to become better people for their children and then Odin has to come and fuck it all up by killing Thor in front of his grandaughter, only to then attack her with zero hesitation.
I was genuinely hoping that Thor would have been able stand by Kratos and help take out his abusive and narcissistic father. I so wanted him to have the opportunity to prove to Thrud that he can become the father he should have always been and to prove to Sif that he will work to become the husband he once was.
This game was full of tragedy and self-sacrifice for the betterment of all nine realms and it was incredible, heartbreaking or not.
you know in a weird way it seems like kratos sees himself in thor but given how hes changed hes probably thinking "not another monster...not this way"
The dialogue is top tier in this game.
Two dads looking to be better for their children
Thor is Kratos' equal, maybe the first he's ever seen. Kratos has thought those weaker and stronger than him, but this fight would never end with violence.
"And this time, I'm allowed to kill you!" - Thor
*But are you able too?* - Everyone else
I'm glad this ends with everyone becoming good friends and Thor being a calm person now. I'm sure they will be spending a lot of time together with their children now.
Odin All Fucker:
Odin All Fucker:
Thor: “Are you a calm and reasonable person?”
It would have been cool if Kratos and Thor became the friends and would have fought alongside each other, but Sad fate for Thor in the end. Love every moment of the game. Brought tears to my eyes :)
Aww, Thor made a friend that lasted him a lifetime
This scene reminded me of "MARTHA!" lol
The trippy "blink and you'll miss it" moment when Kratos hooks Mjolnir with the Blades of Chaos ripping the hammer out of Thors hand and swinging it back at him. (I can't tell if he hits him or just misses)
I don't know if Kratos finds a loophole or it's just a bit of "creative licence". But for a fraction of a second we see Thor losing his grip on his own weapon.
One of the coolest and yet saddest redemption arcs.
Imagine if Thor betrayed Odin and became an ally of Kratos in the final battle
Wish we could see Mimir's reaction to this
"Thrud and Sif would be very proud of you brother" he may have said
“For the thake of our children”
Thor after realizing Thrud love Atreus and want marry him start to drink 100 barrel of mead: NNNOOOOOO THRUD
Just the sheer size of Thor, combined with his immensr power and lack of control... makes him so absolutely terrifying
also his voice and face are brutal.
It's amazing to see someone like Kratos be the voice of reason instead of doing what his younger self did best: Brutally murder first and not bother asking questions later. All because his former master fooled him into killing his wife and daughter. Now, I don't believe revenge solves anything but the fact is he had it coming, he deserved the ass kicking he got, you NEVER bring a man's family into your sick games! Then you got the rest of the Greek Gods, scum, all of them but was murdering them all worth the suffering the people went through?
1:00 front slam
Me having a conversation with God after he still loves me, despite my flaws and sinful behavior: 2:14
🤓
This might be the most powerful moment in gaming history.
Thor: Don't you know what I've done?
Kratos: You want hear how I almost destroy a whole world and put it into a perpetual chaos? And even destroyed the afterlife while at it too?
Thor: Holy sh*t......
Thor knew about Kratos legend, but he still thought his sins were equal or more.
This is where men cried
Eeeh... "Best Friends" is quite a stretch...
There is a difference between my friend and not my enemy. Perhaps they would be not enemies.
Maaaaaan Thor should have lived! These two should have been sharing a mug of mead together and laughing this fight off in the endgame, we could have had the "Goku & Vegeta" of the God of War series right here smh. I hope they find a way to resurrect Thor and make him part of the series again.
Kratos: your daughter, Mt son call her friend
Thor: if you try to hurt her
Kratos: hell nah my son have a crush on her and your daughter love my boy so I'll become his father-in-law
Thor: 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Thor was wrong when he said we can't change, everyone can change but it need a strong determination. In my case back I was young I was a snotty teenager thinking I'm better than others. With time I realized I was wrong and I totally regret.
Kratos is God of war Ragnarök is literally Thor's psychologist
*NO MORE FUCKING GAMES!!!*
