Good video, straight to the point and shooting with not a lot of blah-blah. I bought that exact model for my son-in-law who wanted his first gun when my granddaughter was born.
Very good shooting shotgun. My first shotgun I got when I was 15 is a Charles Daly Superior made in Japan. I will be 50 this year and still have it! Enjoyed the video.
So you have a miroku made Charles Daly. I used to also have a 20 gauge double barrel side by side. Charles Daly made buy miroku. Was a beautiful gun I still miss it. I had to sell off a whole lot of my firearms when I went through my divorce. And I really lost some outstanding guns.
I bought mine just over a year ago and only put 20-30 rounds down range but I’m very happy with it. Mine is just black finish and has very smooth action. I bought it from a farm/gun store u probably got’em down there in KY but Rural King. I picked it up on sale during Black Friday for $199.99 originally $299.99. Seen it at a gun show the very next day for $350.99 so I feel like I gotta good deal. Hope this comment finds y’all in good shape as KY & TN have been slammed by tornadoes & flash flooding. Prayers to u and your state 🙏
That's a great video and I appreciate you making it. I've been looking for a truck gun. You see I live next to the Great Dismal swamp in Virginia there's more water moccasins in the summertime than I care to mention. Think going to pick me up one of those I worry about those grandkids. Playing down by the creek. Sure could use one of those last year. I'm a decent shot with my Smith & Wesson. But yours is the better tool heck it's better than a slingshot. I just didn't want to break the bank. That's exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you again
Thank you very much I appreciate you watching. And yes this would make a good inexpensive snake gun. But if you have a local Walmart that sells shotguns the Stevens 320 security shotgun is also a very good option for the money I think I gave $150 some dollars for my Stevens at Walmart
Appreciate the advice pick mine up this morning paid 189. This'll make a great snake gun. I love it this just like yours. Affordable and just a good gun. Thought about getting a breech-loading one single shot. But I would rather have this one. Living near the Great Dismal Swamp. One thing you know if you have a mild winter. The summertime's going to have an explosion cottonmouth and water moccasins. I always worried about those grandchildren. This perfect truck gun. Go down to the pier or just put on my tractor when I'm mowing the lawn and do a drive-by on Mister snake. I don't kill snakes unless I have to. But they stay on their side of the fence or they die thank you again
Good demonstration. Thank you. I do like the action in your gun - seems to be mostly effortless and comfortable. Of course, as you say, a few more shells through it and it will be perfect.
Yeah that's a video I'm kind of looking forward to doing. Although it's going to be a little more involved than my normal video. I'm still trying to figure out how to best do it and not make it an hour long! LOL
Never trust the sound of racking a round to intimidate anyone. They may not hear it, or be too high to notice. They may have never heard a shotgun be racked before so they wouldn't know what the noise is. Thinking you can scare off someone by racking a round is an extremely dangerous game to play. You better focus on keeping on target.
@@thystaff742 Well aren’t you something cheerful to read about in the morning!!! I don’t own a pump and if you come in my house I can promise you that there won’t be any warning noises! The first thing you hear will probably be the last thing you hear
What, if any, opinion do you have on the mossberg maverick 88. I’m a new subscriber and I enjoy your videos. Thanks for your time, and blessings to you and yours.
The Maverick 88 is a great gun. It's built on the Mossberg 500 platform which is time tested and proven. I would not hesitate in owning a Mossberg 88. Thanks for subscribing to the channel we appreciate you having you in the Hamilton outdoor family
It's a great all around shotgun. I'm going to get a tactical flashlight for the rail on the bottom and look into getting a red dot sight. They have 15 of them at Sportsman's warehouse where I live.
This shotgun will be in my safe in a few weeks, Nice video, and you have a new sub. I like your easy style. Where are you at neighbor? I'm in Southwest, Virginia.
So far I really like the shotgun. With the screw in chokes it makes it very versatile. And thank you very much for subscribing to the channel I appreciate it
Put 15 slugs through it the first day out. Didn’t have any problems other than not really knowing what I was doing since it’s my first shotgun.I’ve collected a number of different types of ammo over the years so it’ll get a real workout this coming weekend 😊
Been think on getting this rob this or a stevens 320 what do u prefer also it says it holds 4+1 not 5+1 on site and manual how did u get it to hold more
Well mine holds five rounds in the tube and so does the Stevens 320. I've done nothing to modify mine sometimes what they tell you on the information about these guns are wrong. And if you ask me which one I prefer I think the Charles Daly is a more versatile gun as it comes with interchangeable choke tubes. Making it useful for not only home defense but also you could hunt with it. I hope this helps but if I can only own one it would be the Charles Daly 301
@@getitdone361 I really like mine. And I know Tim Miller who also has a UA-cam channel bought one and he's really liking his. You might want to check out his video his channel is just called Tim Miller

@@getitdone361 yeah night shift is definitely tough. And the work itself is stressful enough without being up all night to boot. And sleeping of a daytime is always been hit and miss for me. Stay safe out there my friend and I do intend to do some more videos with the Charles Daly
I’m a novice and just got this one. Does the length of the shell matter or does it need to be a certain size? I got 3 inch, but I noticed you got 2 3/4 inch
Most shotshells come in 2 3/4 inch, and it would depend on what you are going to be using your shotgun for. If you are hunting or using it for self-defense. 3-in shells are going to have quite a bit more recoil, but they do carry a heavier payload of shot.
Good video, straight to the point and shooting with not a lot of blah-blah. I bought that exact model for my son-in-law who wanted his first gun when my granddaughter was born.

just bought the same shotgun from Dunhams but it came with one choke in the barrel.. Hmm, I am going to contact Charles daly Monday.
I would check with Dunham's and see if they for some reason took the box with the chokes out of the box.

Hard to go wrong with a good ol' pump action.😎
