    Literally the ONLY reaction who actually gets it...people always say "why did they fall for that fake" or "he's slow" and like you said, it was because if they didn't bite, he'd shoot and score, they HAD to respect both his shot AND pass and fakes of both!

  • @mrho4speed

    Keep digging in Bird and you will find he was an unreal talent. That shot sequence vs Washington left out an important part of the story = Bird hits the game tying shot and it is waived off. THEN Bird hits a running shot to tie up the game to force overtime. And in the overtime he hits that 1 legged shot to win the game = 3 clutch shots in 1 game. There is a video put together where Bird either hit the game winner or tied the game up 23 times on Bostons last possession. And there are probably more examples out there.

    Bird, because of his shooting prowess, was able to draw the defense and find the open man. And because of his IQ, knew where every player was on the court. It' was poetry in motion.

    What my Dad used to say, about Larry's game, is that it reminded him of someone, who was not only playing basketball, but also, volleyball, dodgeball, baseball, football, & strategic chess, all at the same time, and was what made him so great 😊He certainly was one of the most unique and gifted players, I have ever watched!

    Larry ruled the NBA for 9 years. In the toughest era in NBA history he finished 1st or 2nd for 8 straight years in MVP, after he won ROY and finished 4th. 🐐🦄🐐🦄🐐

    It's like Bird knew where everybody, both teams, was at at any given time. He knew where you were going before you knew where you were going.

    For those that think Larry Bird was not as good as he really was. This comment is for those whom never had the chance to see him play.
    At that time it was not about the individuals stats it was about the win. But if you need some stats here you go:
    Here are some of Larry Bird's notable career achievements and statistics:
    Three-time NBA champion (1981, 1984, 1986); Two-time NBA Finals MVP (1984, 1986); Three-time NBA MVP (1984-86); 12-time NBA All-Star (1980-88, 1990-92); Nine-time All-NBA First Team (1980-88);
    All-NBA Second Team (1990); Three-time All-NBA Defensive Second Team (1982-84); NBA Rookie of the Year (1980); NBA All-Rookie Team (1980); Three-time NBA Three-Point Contest champion (1986-88);
    Career-high in points: 60 (March 12, 1985) -- tied for franchise record with Jayson Tatum; Named NBA Coach of the Year (1998); and Named NBA Executive of the Year (2012).
    Larry Bird, was the first player to accomplish the 50-40-90 achievement, and one of two players to achieve the feat in multiple seasons.
    Career averages:
    24.3 points per game
    10.0 rebounds per game
    6.3 assists per game
    88.6% free throw percentage
    49.6% field goal percentage
    37.6% 3-point percentage
    Now we can't forget that Bird famously played with two injured ankles and a notoriously cranky back that forced him to lay down on the floor during practice breaks. He likely used these crutches after season-ending foot surgery just six games into the 1988-89 season

    Told you Larry was maybe the nicest white boy to ever play, you should def do some Magic reactions soon. Both so talented it's impossible for me to argue who was better in their era. I'd watch the rival video after seeing Magic's highlights so you got more context.

    Do the whole Bird/Magic doc, man; even if you have to divvy it up into parts. I'll watch. Bird and Magic are a phenomenon unto themselves, and as league carriers of NBA's greatest team rivalry of Boston/LA, then saving the league from extinction. I mean ... yeah.

  • @nathan3252

    Larry if he had been healthy could have likely had added at least one, two, or more championships if he had not had so much injuries. What is even crazier to consider is the fact that MJ was never entirely able to beat Bird when it came to the big matches so Larry could have possibly even blunted the legacy of Jordan by denying Jordan the big wins he enjoyed after Bird left. Would it add extra respect to Bird's name? Sadly no. Many younger generations do not pay close enough attention to all around stats as they do dominance and scoring. They overlook all the other elements that make a player great which is why Bird was such a threat to Jordan. Larry didn't have to score big to win. If he played the game perfectly as he was often prone to do then he could beat Jordan even without having to rack up the scoreboard. That is what so many people overlook with people like bird. They don't have one stat maxed out to a ridiculous degree. Instead they have all the stats perfect maxed out so no matter what he had to do he could do it. That is why I tell a lot of people that bird should be considered the prototype for the perfect player. He could do it all perfectly.

    when you see the videos of him fake passing and then pull the ball back and shoot it, because he was willing to pass the ball off, when he acted like he was going to pass, they had to react to it and often, it would make them look stupid. But when you watch this video and see all of the no look passes, you can see how players would fall for the fakes. The first time he got a chance to play with Magic on the Olympic team, Magic did a no look pass to Bird only to have him do a no look right back to him for an easy lay up. With today's rules, each player in their prime, could you imagine what a team of Larry Bird, Magic, MJ. Koby and Karem as the starting 5. All in their prime playing together, they could easily go undefeated for the year.

    Great reaction. But you would've fell out your chair if you watched the "re-edit" version. It'll definitely make you shout. Maybe 70% more passing highlights in that one, which obviously raise his passing clout. The middle part of the video includes a ton of full court passes that'll certainly lay you out! I'm sure you can't do another passing reaction so soon, but the next one should be that one, without a doubt. I'm out!
