That #21 returns punts got a score that helped here. Maybe even help get them into the sub that year. But in 95 he got his leg broken? Guessing on a punt return? Is that how it happened. Which I've watched enough of these UA-cam's to know the 95 team pass defense was as bad as 94 was. This was the game the Chargers invited all the local high school football teams that were going to play in the CIF championships the following Monday. They set up a special bleacher section in the end zone that collapsed after the Andre Coleman TD. He reached up with the football to us and we all crowded to the same area on the bleachers and they instantly collapsed and some of us fell onto the field. Great memories.

To this day, I’m amazed that it was LEGAL for the Chargers to have as much backfield talent as they did. As one sportswriter put it, when they want to turn over you, they use Butts and Bernstine; when they want to run AROUND you, they use Bienemy, and when they want to totally confuse you, they put Harmon in the game. When Butts and Bernstine left, Natrone Means came in, and they didn’t miss a beat.
