  • I install a Chinese diesel heater in my 2022 22ft Jayco Journey Outback.
For the install I went with the PPAP 3kw model from eBay, slightly more expensive than the other Chinese heaters but i got a 2 year warranty.
    Here it is - ebay.us/IBJl6f
Also got the tank cover from Yarra Supply on eBay.

I found the German heaters efficient but blower motor wears out after about 2500 hours and they carbon up very easily, probably because of our different quality diesel. Very expensive to overhaul. I bought three Chinese heaters for half the price of a German heater . Almost identical units. The Chinese heaters are very cheap to overhaul and burn cleaner and have a longer time between overhauls. If you are handy the blower motors can be disassembled and rebuilt, bearings and brushes, for about $12. Gaskets and burner screens are readily available and cheap. It is worth carrying spare blower motors and burner screens and gaskets and it takes about 1 hour to overhaul these heaters. Be very aware not to cut electrical power while the heater is on as this will destroy the fan that feeds the burner. The diesel unit are great heaters and with good maintenance and necessary replace of some parts keep going. I have had these for about 10 years ( German ) and 5 years +(chinese😊) if you have your heater going all night make sure to do calculation on your power consumption as the low voltage cutout on some of these will stop the heater at 10 volts. I sometimes run the heater with kero / diesel mixture to clean out the carbon buildup but I do this on a test stand NOT mounted in a van. Beware the pump is lubricated with diesel and using any other fuel can shorten the life of the pump. Dust build up on the intake screen and the temperature sensor can cause an over heat error.
    Safe travels!

Mount the tank at the front on draw bar same side as car and you can fill both at once

Yeah i thought about that but then i'd need to have the fuel pump right near the bed, and it's way too noisy

All the chinese heaters are alike. Sometimes you get a lemon. I just bought 2 identical - 5kw heaters from walmart. @$90 each i have a parts heater.

I bought 2 veveos... they are identical to yours. Same parts same everything... you’d think the Chinese would vary them a bit more so you could tell they all come from the same place

No difference hey, maybe a fancier housing or a 30c sticker for the front of it like my PPAP.

Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide are two different gases. Use Both detectors.

Looks neat but the control panel should have the temp sensor on meaning if the cupboard is closed it continues to run ?

Never really thought about that to be honest. But no it seems to work fine, the heater runs until the room heats up and then bumps back to an idle.

To get cable up into the top cupboards, I just used a bit of stick on 1/4 round conduit. Looks neat and don't even notice there anymore. Here's a video on it.....
