Just because 2 things serves similar purposes does not make them the same. Also just because something is strongly influenced by something else that does not mean that it's not unique
@@canbeexplainedThey can still be separate, just about how it goes about solving that problem. Like your nuke example, a canonball destroys something by just breaking it, but a nuke destroys something by using a nuclear explosion with an entirely different process than the cannonball

Even if there was somekind proto-torch,if you go back enough you will eventually find some invention,as in the first thing to be used for a specific need
