- Call Me by My Name is a comedy about a young Chinese lady’s battle with her identity in America. She goes to her Chinese name as the source of her problems, only to be met with pushbacks from people around her, and above her - the female general ancestor. These moments make Jessie, our main lady, eventually realize what’s the actual core of her existence.

SO many of these moments are relatable for me as a Latina. Great content Jessie!
I LOVE the General! I'm already hooked! The General should have her own spin off show! More and more of her please!
The General, you mean Ying?
This series is so good. Very funny but at the same time has a serious theme running through it. The production of this series would take everything a regular movie would have. Cast of multiple characters, shooting on location and in studio. Very professionally done. Production wise, way beyond shorts. I love it.
Loving how this series is starting, great production. Super fun, great job Jessie.
I really like ancestor spirit deity, she knows what’s up.
Oh snap! Just realized these are fresh uploads!
This is quality stuff.
5:12 SHES RIGHT THO, THE DISRESPECT FOR THOSE WINGS :0 HOW DARE THEY
OMGGG HIS EVEN WIPING HIS HANDS ON HIS SHIRT , S T O P
I am so glad that my friend group has 2 Chinese people in it (one of my friends and myself) so we make damn sure that the rest of the people eat the whole chicken wing otherwise they will face judgment😂
Well, this topic has more philosophical relation than the practical americans would think of. 😂
So great episode. It’s a better tutorial to learn English than “friends” for me, a Chinese, thank you, you are a treasure girl!
Well done Jessie. Looking forward to the next episode. Cheers…🍀😉
"If the wing was still on the chicken the chicken could still fly!" That is some comedy gold right there.
When my wife got Naturalized, she cried tears of joy and said he felt powerful. Powerful, I did not expect that description.
Really loving this series!
Thank you...this series is great in every way. You are a great videographer, actress, writer, and educator. I find that I can't wait for more episodes. I already love your ESL series and all the shorts. I watch your critiques of various people speaking Mandarin. I do love the sound of the language . I wish I could learn to speak Chinese one day but it seems so hard .... and I am no spring chicken.:-) Thank you again. You express your experiences with great art and clarity and it is all very touching. It occurs to me that you are in fact a true embassador (sp).
I honestly love the acting and story of this! good vibes too 😊 Good job Jessi !!!
Thanks to you, I'm in a way better mood this morning!
Oh My God!! I'm already an episode behind. How long have you been in America?? I can already tell the General is gonna be one of your best characters. ❤❤❤❤❤
Oh my God...
This is one of my new favorites😮❤
I LOVE THIS JESSIE ❤
Wah… Chee Sin!!! I love your shorts but this is right out next level! 😂
THAT'S ALSO HOW I LOOK DANCING TO YMCA. but it's because im really bad at gross motor control 😂😂😂
“If they say fusion one more time, IM GONNA BURN THIS PLACE DOWN!”
This is amazing ❤
Great content Jessie
Really loved it
Love Your Video Jessie.
Do you write these? What's your production team like? Excellent fun.
Thank you for the slow-motion shot. I have never seen a better video.
I felt the same while living there as a latino.
Lovin thiss
social foreign language anxiety ... lol. wow. I felt that
4:13 the awkwardness t-t
Best game of beer pong ever! 😅❤
“That is mega sexist”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, anyways-“
This seems to match what some of my friends said about how they experienced working in the US. I'd feel very uncomfortable, out of place and staring at the exit I think. And the fusion restaurant is simply horror to me, what is being done to the food there is simply criminal! lol.
I might been raised in the country I’m living, but I have a total different culture at home. People here are different, and it makes me feel like an outcast..
Having kind of mixed cultures are a bit rough..
Last bottle trike was osm 😮
5:51 LMAO, literally me when eating with others, waiting for the right moment to eat it
江西妹你好 ! 哇,你冇得頂啦 !
Somebody give her a movie role already ❤
IS THAT HOW THEY EAT CHICKENWINGS? got me rolling🤣
Oh the eyebrows
This is not the boyfriend i imagined based on your blonde wig band t shirt character 🤣
ngl the scene at the party broke my heart a little bit.
❤❤❤❤
That restaurant:- Only one Chinese walked in... must be crap... "New Chick from Work..." NO! NO! I'd be looking for a new job... I'd don't understand U.S. politics or baseball either. Football, that's with a round ball folks. YMCA, you did O.K. I'm still not very good at Chinese squaredancing... Actually I was at a trade show recently with Chinese vendors and one of the staff admitted she wasn't very good at ping-pong, we both laughed.
"Going commando" bhahahahahaha
I'm so glad I've never met a creepy guy like that.
Seems the hapa girl in the friend group is the true series villain...
Watched a lot of videos, you are impressively beautiful
People don't eat the whole chicken??
LIKE BRO THAT'S STRAIGHT UP WASTE OF FOOD
1:13😂
4:14 im starting to understand the message of guys being sexist yet the protagonist keeps ignoring cringe comments and possibly feels compelled to maintain a positive attitude and not call it out…
❤ hi
😂
❤❤
Where is the episode 1.
Hello
:)
I'm not a Latina....yet.
WHY DOES NOBODY NOTICE SCOTT FRENZEL IS HERE??
Scott frenzel isn’t there
@@Kur0_mi it looks like him!!!
I can't understand anything the brown haired boss says. I suppose that's for the best though.
2:30 are they trying for a train?
Can you make more videos with just Chinese people in them please? If I wanted to see english people I would go outside.❤
Awww man. Could have done without the snobby English actors
10:30 who listens to YMCA anymore?
9:46 summer camps are lame , gay and deeply scarring... not something to reminisce about...
people can have different opinions yk
@@flegoan true. I just never met one person to really enjoy summer camps.
@@Ciprian-IonutPanaitI'm from the south. Summer camps were generally pretty awful. I went to a computer skills based one that wasn't too horrible. When I moved to Michigan, people had an entirely different experience. Summer camps were mischief and outdoor sports. Swimming, paintball, sneaking off to the nearby girls' camp at night. People went to the same camps every year and made lifelong friends. Some of the people I worked with even became camp counselors and a few were still involved in some capacity. It's wild how it varies by location and services available.
@@JamesWright1919 I guess is also about how much funding it is. Well it was mischief in ours as well, but mischief meant alcohol for some and let's just say when you get drunk at that age is a nuisance both for you and your sober friends.
What happened to this Channel? She wants to be famous?
She's just doing whatever she wanna do and she has the right to do that, it's not hurting anyone and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
That one time at band camp...
