#20 | EAST COAST TASMANIA - Feels Like Home

  • wewillroam.com | As the lights of Melbourne drifted behind the horizon and we settled into our bunks for the night, this ferry ride over to Tasmania was unlike the others. True, a sense of adventure hung in the dusk air, but the underlying comfort of 'coming home' crept in like an unexpected hug.
We've always said we could live in Tasmania, and the coming months would give us a chance to see what that distant-future life might feel like. With a long wishlist of places to go, things to do and a mountain-shaped playground towering over Hobart, our plan was to make the most of the time we had; no settling, no nesting.
Part 1 covers our time striking a balance between work, travel and 'doing new things' in Hobart and the east coast. Part 2 - coming soon - will pick up where we leave Hobart and head west to the Tarkine and beyond.

Of all the off road and adventure UA-cam videos I've watched (and there are hundreds if not thousands), yours are among the best. You've set a very high bench mark for the rest so well done. You are also fantastic role models for the younger generation of Australians who are so self absorbed with image, money and a superficial way of life, yet here you are, a young couple from the UK living a simple way of life that most can only dream about. Thank you for your videos and I sincerely wish you safe and happy future travels and no doubt you will continue to enjoy exploring this great country of ours.

I'm excited to see another beautiful video from you. Of the thousands of people making these on UA-cam, I feel certain that you are the most talented.

I am re-watching so much of your content. You guys truly are special storytellers. It's very relaxing music and cinematography is beautiful. Can't wait for some more new videos. Cheers, Grant.

Love your work guys. A kindred spirit Troopy aficionado, pro photographer of 30 years, and fellow lover of adventures. If you guys were any more laid back, you’d be in a coma. So refreshing & real. Sailing is next level awesome. I’ve been lucky enough to count an Atlantic crossing & a Cairns to Darwin voyage amongst my most memorable adventures. Thank you for helping me cope during Vic lockdowns, revisiting familiar places in your outstanding videos. I truly hope we may find ourselves camped in the same place. If you’re ever in the Vic high country, I’m based in Jamieson. Lake Eildon looking amazing just now at 85% capacity. Really love your work

I don’t watch much beyond UA-cam, of all the things I look forward to most on UA-cam, yours ranks first place. Maybe it’s the fact you don’t rush them out that determines that they are worth the wait.

Do not forget Bicheno when you are in East Coast Tasmania. Penguins, Blowhole, great walks, Precinct national park are to name a few.

This is a sensational video guys. I love all of your work but the Tasmanian videos are the best by far. It's a special place and I, like you would love to be based there. It's fairly close to Victoria where I live but I wish I could visit more. Take care. Richard

Luv Tassie in good weather. Been over a few times enjoying the great uncluttered roads on the motorbike. Was a few years ago and I'm sure more mainlanders have flocked there crowding it up. The bush is fantastic, some of the hikes in old growth forest are another level. Have the winter woolys ready as bad weather blows up fast. Enjoy.

Great Job again.. I can tell you I have a Yacht and a 4wd. Sailing in the summer and 4Wdriving in the winter. Both on a Budget, I'm lucky I have the Flinders on my door step one way and Kangaroo Island the other way. Plenty to do and See. So what are the differences. 4Wdriving is safer but noiser. Sailing is a bit more dangerous but and this is a big but, the peacefulness when there is no wind. It's nearly indescribable. Which do I prefer??? I can't actually tell yet. I get out of my 4WD and go wow that was a great trip. Love it Love it, then the sun pokes its head out and I raise the sails and listen to nothing. Love it Love it. It's the nothing I crave the most I think. Solo camping gives me the nothing that I love also. I think in a nutshell you can always have a perfect 4wd trip but you will always try to have a better sail. Check out a couple of first time sailing videos I did and how I tried to capture the moments. It's quite hard especially when you have to hang on. First rule of sailing..... ***Crew first before buying.**** Do some twilight races at a club. Skippers are always looking for crew. Good Luck

Another great video, glad you're enjoying Tassie, best if you dive in a dry-suit as they're much warmer than a wetty. I loved the views from the Pinnicles atop of Wellington, we were there Feb/March this year and loved it all especially the East Coast. Hope you got to see some of the Auroras that have been abundant lately. Enjoy your stay there's tons to explore. Nev
