- My first impression of the new Keychron Q6 Custom Mechanical Keyboard with Gateron G Pro Brown Switches. This keyboard is heavy, good quality, and sounds amazing out of the box. Works with Windows and Mac OS. Has South Facing RGB and doubleshot PBT keycaps with no shine through. It’s a wired only keyboard with USB-C connector.

Great review! Just bought my Q5!
When I saw the Q5 I was sold because it was almost full size, but few days later Keychron announced the Q6, so I decided to wait instead haha it’s a great Keyboard 😎
@How To Work From Home that is awesome! First, I ordered the K10, then I discovered the Q6 and did a change of order, and then I discovered the Q5 and did another change of order! I don't think you can go wrong with any Q Series; it is just a matter of the size and layout you want!

I use a Q2 w/knob (Blues) for home and a Q6 w/knob (brown) for work. Love them both and just did Force Break mod.
I am trying to force myself to do the Force break haha 😎
I would give this review a positive if it had been recorded horizontally instead of vertically.

Nice review, btw the color of the window keys blueish like the mac? at the camera looks grey.

I like how stable these mechanical keyboards are build, but I don't like their loud sound. That is what me hold back buying these keyboards.
Meanwhile you can get very quiet mechanical keyboards. You just don't get them out of the box, you have to do some mods. You can get the Q6 as a barebone, geht silent linear switches and some foam mods and so on and it will be very silent.
I have tried several mechanical keyboards and the Keychron Q6 is the best. Very sturdy and well built. It’s also hot swappable and I can change out the key switches and key caps to my liking. 😎
@@HowToWorkFromHomeUSA I switched from Corsair to Keychron. Never thought i can spend 200€ for such bullshit. My Keychron was cheaper and is simply better. This is what i call quality. Cheers mate
Haha yeah smaller companies like Keychron, NuPhy are producing nice Mechanical keyboards. I started getting into the Mech Keys about a year ago. So many options to consider when buying 😎
actualy got this keyboard also with brown switches, i love to type on it but its seem to be the opposite for me compared to the rest of you... the spacebar is like ten times as loud as the other keys and i will send it back because of that :( incredible annyoing, like hitting something with a hammer every single time
Hi there! Thanks for your comment. My spacebar is a bit louder but not annoyingly loud. Have you tried to remove the spacebar from the keyboard and check the switch and the stabilizers? Maybe they forgot to lube the stabilizers and/or switch? Good luck!
What you can do is trying to put foam or some adhesive tape (thicker) in the spacebar to dampen the sound. Sadly Keychron keyboards tend to have louder spacebars. Also try to get your hands on switches like boba 4ut or silent switches to further dampen the spacebar.
First world problems I guess.
Great review! I noticed that there is no num lock or caps lock on this keyboard? Does the four symbols on the top right corner a light indicator? I could not find information regarding that anywhere.
Thank you 😎. There is a Num lock and Caps lock key, however, there are no lights (LED) for Numlock, Capslock, and Scroll lock. The four symbols above the Num keypad are F13 to F16 keys and you can program them to what ever you want using the VIA software. I’m still trying to understand the VIA software. I’ve seen other people program some keys on the upper right corner to light up a different color when caps, scroll lock is pressed.
@@HowToWorkFromHomeUSA Gotcha! That's nice to know that there is some option to have a indicator through programming. I use the locks quite a bit and don't want to be stuck not knowing if its on or not :)
I use the Caps lock as well and I believe there is also software out there to download that would flash a pop up box indicating if cap locks is on or off.

Hi Andres, the quadruple loop symbol between the Option and Spacebar is the Command key for Mac OS layout. Since I am using this keyboard with Windows, that button becomes the Alt key. Thanks 😎

Ah hahah I see what you mean. Those are extra buttons you can customize using VIA to do anything. I customized mine to open the Calculator app in Windows and some other shortcuts. Also, by default the F8 has the Play/Pause assigned and F10, F11, and F12 control the Volume. Just hold the fn button and you can access the controls. Thanks!

what is the best budget keyboard?
From what I have looked at Keychron has some great hot swappable keyboards.
There are a lot of budget mechanical keyboards out there. I honestly don’t have one specific in mind. I also have a Logitech K845 with Brown switches which goes for $59.99 and it's a good keyboard, although the stabilizers rattle and need some lube on them. Thanks 😎
i'm currently using the keychron c1, and it's actually a really good keyboard at this price point.

@jejepz I like the tactile feedback I get from the Brown Switches. I also enjoy Red Linear Switches but prefer Brown for typing 😎
