WTF is a "break" caliper?

Only reason I can think of is maybe to be able to do any burnout scenes without damaging the front breaks but even that doesn't really make sense because in a front wheel drive you can just use the hand break to do this or if your not confident in the cabled break system on the hand break you can put line lockers on pretty cheap that enable you to lock one set of breaks on & not the other but I guess we will never know lol. My best guess is this might be a shot of the replica cars that they use that don't usually have an engine or any of the expensive running gear but you'd think they'd have a mock up of the front breaks even on the replica cars that they use in movies for certain scenes because you'd obviously want it to look as real as possible.
