to be clear , in 2019 the V4r came out w a 16,500 limit..which is stock , that motor w new cams will support 18k of usable power, then 1/2 way through 2019 they limited it and by the end of the season it was limited to 15,700(off the top of my head). That motor wasnt designed to work at 1000+ rpm less. in the event they let Ducati spin 1000 more rpm than stock then the engine would have been operating where it was intended....prob would have been 25kph faster down the straight at Phillip Island ..it was 15-17kph faster than then next bikes in 2019. Even now they are at 16,100 which is 400 less than stock.The stock ZX10r engine is a 14,200 and 14,700 for the RR, the current WSBK ceiling for the Kawi is 15,100rpm....give the DUC the same increase over stock and the trap speeds will be silly vs others
Sbk topspeed record Tom Sykes 339 kmph on a very old zx10. If it was allowed to race without restrictions JR would still be wc. Dorna/ fim/ Ducati just killed them. Why develop a new bike if the old one is still restricted. Jap manufacturers are going to leave racing and it is a shame. If Audi/ Volkswagen stop to pay Ducatis bills then sbk and mgp is dead.

I think WSBK racing is fading out in general. With the R1 looking like it will be discontinued, superbikes in general aren't going to be a major class of motorcycle. The only ones that will be left in the near future will be the Panigale V4, RSV4 and the S1K. Mayyybe Honda will keep the Fireblade around, but the big 4 is focusing on smaller displacement I'm afraid.
A very timely video, bearing in mind that this is also the last year of a factory Kawasaki in World Superbikes. While the MotoGP bike continued briefly under the Hayate banner, the WSBK machine will carry the Bimota badge next year. So parallels can definitely be drawn between the two series, I think.
Money, plain and simple. MotoGP and F1 are mad expensive from a project management and R&D standpoint. Not every manufacturer has the kind of capital it takes to stay competitive at that level. You have to have serious commitment to racing and engineering as a company.
I was sad that suzuki too backed out of MotoGP but now I realise that its a good move. MotoGP now has become so stale and boring. People hate when I say this but trust me and see older MotoGP clips and tell me that it doesn't get your adrenaline rushed just by watching it. Kudos to Kawasaki for taking that decision.
I was racing Kawasaki bikes in the early 1980s. My first scoot was a KZ750E. That thing would run away from just about anything in the twisties, but fall back in overall speed. Man, it would squirt! Then my 1984 GPZ900. 174 top end, came ported and polished. Drag its butt under 7K, but at 7K to over 12K was like instant. It was vicious....and it was a BLAST! I raced AMA and WERA Superbike in the U.S. Eddie Lawson was my hero. I got to meet him during a training day. Whst a hoot! Still have the stills and VHS videos.
I own a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R. It is very fast. Flashed ECU, -1 front sprocket and Akrapovic exhaust system. The bike has also been very reliable giving me no problems at all. I would buy another Kawasaki if I needed another bike.

When the Ducati Cup moved from production to prototype racing over 3 decades, it was right for kawasaki to jump ship and exert their dominance. Hopper moving to team green and getting massively injured at Assen, after his best season with Suzuki, didn't give much hopes for the programme. Nobody could have foretold the global recession in 08/09, but to Melandri's credit on the Hayate, he showed the potential of the bike. But it's like pissing in the wind when you have no budget or development. It's not that Forward Racing left MotoGP at the end of the season. CRT came into effect and they were faffing about with roided superbike engines in prototype chassis. They had Colin Edwards for a while

Take this video for instance, the missedit of the first line in the script which was repeated in few minutes later while overlapping it with the continuation of the script create a sense of amateurish with no further quality control of the material at hand. That wrong use of music placement, usually with that tract we can actually imagine it to be used to place emphasis on excitement. But putting it on repeat while the answer is beinggiven by the brand is inappropriate and out of place.
Its a loss because their bikes are still outdated compared to the rest of the competition, Why do you think Rea left? Yamahas, honda, ducati, and aprilia are putting MotoGP tech into their roadbikes, Lean sensitive traction control and ABS systems(the new zx10 has some of these but their not as refined), aero etc... Kawasakis are pretty basic when it comes to tech packages and they're being left behind. Thats why their partnering with bimota to help them catch up.
WSBK was lackluster this season after they caved in to Toprak's complaining and slowed down his biggest rival. He missed rounds and still had the lead when he came back. Compared to MotoGP, which is most likely going to the final round again.
Kawa made almost all the most powerfull bikes in history - H1, H2, Kr 1S, zx turbo, zzr 1000, zxr ninjas series ( i prefer the well named singers btw)- and still doing with the h2. All of them are too wild to exploit. The strategy is simple, no need to go in the gp. why spend more to prove the obvious that kawasaki is an exception on 2 wheels history. Until another one but it is another story

Yamaha and Honda are doing so bad because they don't want to spend any extra money. Suzuki was there for a while and were happy to leave after winning the suckiest season ever. Kawasaki Heavy Industries is a MASSIVE corporation. They build everything from trains to robots to aerospace stuff to motorcycles. They aren't a "small engineering company".

@@kupalisky3553yes they are massive corporation, yet motorcycle division by size is one of the smaller subsidiaries and it was clear their racing programme was not subsidised by the parent company. Otherwise they will have stayed in MotoGP and keep on investing in it no matter the outcome.
