"Someone can be too nice". Never a truer word was spoken. I reflect back on an awful relationship I got stuck in. Thinking about it now, the extra niceness which I thought of as being so sweet was in reality a massive red flag as subsequent events unfolded.
Don't blame yourself for not spotting any red flags, it's NEVER our fault that we are in relationships with abusive partners. Nor is it our fault for thinking that they're not whom they first seem. I hope you're safe and well now ❤️
@@jonathan1655 Easier said than done in a lot of case's my love. My ex became abusive when I was 6 months pregnant. He'd slowly alienated me from my friends and I'd lost 3 close family members so I wasn't in a good place. He was very supportive at first and my pregnancy was accidental. I won't get into detail as no offense, I don't have to justify myself to anyone and I'm sure you'll just think I was stupid anyway. I've recently been diagnosed with autism so that didn't help either.

She admits what she done was wrong etc but even from her telling the story early on it was obvious how this was turning out. Apart from red lights flashing all the signs were there from day one. Just for once I would like to hear one of the people who get out of jail say I'm gonna get a good job and look after my family etc instead of saying I'm going on social media to help people. Help is good but crack on with your life normally and enjoy what you missed with kids and partners not sit on socials
I think what seems like a lack of accountability for her self is actually her referring to not leaving the relationship , not seeing that she was being manipulated. That doesn’t absolve her from the part she played but I think people forgot that at 21 u are still very naive. She was working, but if your partner who is older than u, says they part own a business and help with your bills ect. I don’t think you would off the bat question it. Either way she plead guilty first chance
Exposing family narc & child ab*se is what got me remanded in Chelmsford & my story banned for 5 years courtesy of Crown Court. I'm currently on my second gagging order lol. Keep up the good work, James!
Her 8 year sentence based upon her ‘facts’ doesn’t add up. There’s more to this case than she is letting on. Regardless of the ‘scale’ of the operation she would only be convicted on the part she played. IMO her sentence would have started with a 4, maximum 5 years (minus early plea, mitigation and first offence) She shouldn’t have been behind the door for longer than 2 years, tops.
I've just read about it. Out of the 5 that were done she got one of the lesser sentences. Mind you, driving about with 50k worth of coke under your own daughters coat next to her on the back seat is pretty scummy
Don't care what anyone says 8 years is a long time, considering rapists sex offenders and child trafficking is a few years max...she is a lesson to be learned for other woman..she did her time and handled it, good look to her in the future x
Wow this is like listening to my life. I had the exact same relationship except I didn’t go to prison. I Cnt believe how much this relates to me n I’m still healing from it. For all the people on here saying she’s lying etc she must of got something I have news for u, u don’t it’s complete control drip fed into ur mind like a drug and you Dnt no it’s happened until u there getting beat to a inch of ur life and realise how did I get here n u stay because you are so consumed with fear and weird the trauma bond she states is fact, because in Tha relationship you have crossed a barrier that should of never been crossed it’s like you connected. The only way I can describe it wen you try to get away from them is it’s like your puppet string have been cut, like bein institutionalised and you live on your anxiety each n every minute of the day like survival mode because you don’t no what mood he is going to be in so ur in constant fight or flight mode and u lose yourself and every bit of respect, dignity , morals , beliefs. Easiest way to put it it’s like selling your soul to the devil with out even realising it until it’s theirs and your life is to serve them or u will feel and reap the consequences!! I’m out of it thank god now finally but it takes years and years prison saved your life and if it weren’t for me having my little girl I would of been still there or dead she gave me the strength to want better and she saved me wen ironically I’m ment to save her.

There is a difference in pleading guilty when your bang to rites and accepting responsibility. She is still in denial which indicates she will do the same again given similar opportunity. She denied taking the drugs too which was a load of bollox. She came across as a complete phoney to be fair.

They are mostly people with weak and addictive personalities who will return to drugs in a hot second. Concerning that she mentioned you meet some of the nicest people in prison. Even the worst serial killer in the world can be nice when they want to be. Mixing with these type of people will land you back in trouble. I hope she has not befriended any of these types.

Her starting point of 16 years dropped to 8, still doesn’t add up to what she’s letting on. She was more involved than she’s letting on and the police evidence and prosecution would have this all on her.

She is a very kind understanding person. There but for the grace.. i had a boyfriend when i was 19. He was a druggie. I ditched him. But he once asked me to go to uk via thailand.. for a holiday. Idve ended up in prison. When ypu are very young lenience should be shown as its easy to be naive when young. She is foing good for others. Thats admirabke.

It seems she loves money, apparently someone said, she married someone for money so they could obtain a British passport. And then selling drugs too. Being Money hungry can get one into big trouble alongside having a criminal background.

I'm only 20 minutes in, and i can't stand to listen anymore. I feel for Emily being in an abusive relationship and i realise that they can be very difficult to get out of. BUT, regarding the drug running i don't beleive she is being truthful or taking any accountability. She says she knew what she was doing was wrong but then says that her courses taught her that it wasn't her fault. She says that at the begining she didn’t know that what she was delivering was drugs. Oh come on! She wasnt a kid, she was early twenties AND she was born and raised in London!! Even a village idiot would suspect the packages contained drugs. I'm not buying it, which is rare for me as im a total empath. Sorry James, had to stop watching this one as her lack of accountability was frustrating. Love all the other podcasts of yours that I've watched so far, though.

8 years is alot for drugs .. considering shes got the same amount of years as Becky watts killer who just got out of prison for killing and dismembering a child ! .. so I would say 8 years for drugs is crazy

I'm only 20 minutes in, and i can't stand to listen anymore. I feel for Emily being in an abusive relationship and i realise that they can be very difficult to get out of. BUT, regarding the drug running i don't beleive she is being truthful or taking any accountability. She says she knew what she was doing was wrong but then says that her courses taught her that it wasn't her fault. She says that at the begining she didn’t know that what she was delivering was drugs. Oh come on! She wasnt a kid, she was early twenties AND she was born and raised in London!! Even a village idiot would suspect the packages contained drugs. I'm not buying it, which is rare for me as im a total empath. Sorry James, had to stop watching this one as her lack of accountability was frustrating. Love all the other podcasts of yours that I've watched so far, though.

He was beating ,cheating ,belittling her throwing glasses using her as a drug mule money laundering she stayed with him she must have enjoyed the benefits his ill gotten gains theres no other reason as a woman i could think she would have tolerated that as a single woman ,she knew what she was doing also leaving her job cant blame him on all of that !!!! Shocked when police stopped her ??

8 years is alot for drugs .. considering shes got the same amount of years as Becky watts killer who just got out of prison for killing and dismembering a child ! .. so I would say 8 years for drugs is crazy
