hi, congrats for pulling it off, looks great :) yet a minor detail, if i'm not mistaken its slightly bending, do you have suggestions on how to prevent it, or what thickness to use? Thank you if you find the time to respond!
Hi! We tried to build this at the school where I teach and ran into some major problems. We are going to try again this year. I would love to talk with you about your project. Is there a way to get in touch with you? Thanks!
Hey Julia, I'm thinking about building one in my local community. I'd love to follow up with you and see what your experience was with the project. Would you be willing to share your email? Thanks!
Hi! You did a great job. I downloaded the plans and I was curious about the measurements for the actual CNC mill parts, because I can't find them. Did you download the plans directly off of Space10?
I did! But try this github.com/space10-community/the-growroom/ since we made this, when you commented, I noticed the link changed on the blog post from Github to Google Drive. That github link is what I actually used. Full 4'x8' sheets. :)
@Daniel White according to the construction manual the needed parts are: 12 sheets of plywood: 2440mm x 1220mm x 18mm 4 sheets of plywood: 2440mm x 1220mm x 4mm 500 stainless pan head screws: 3.5mm x 30mm So the price of the whole thing will depend on how expensive these parts are in your area of the world, the cost of tools and the cost of possible additions (like a coating, plant pots, etc). Checking with suppliers of wood in your area will probably be the best way to find out how much this will cost you and there’s no risk of getting estimates that are just completely wrong for your local prices.
Hello, I was just wondering- you guys built this outside. During the winter months, there is snow so what happens them? We are trying to build it in Ottawa, Canada and cant seem to find an engineer stamp because of this. Please let me know.
nour abdou Yes. The elements can be harsh! Sun included. We used pressure treated materials and sealed it, but I suspect marine grade would have been better. I’m not sure anything is perfect or permanent. We just have to replace or repair it from time to time.
Thank you! It's made from plans available online, though some changes were made for the thickness we used. This something not sold in stores but put out there as free and 'open source' design files for anyone.
Hi Chris! I'd love to ask yuo some questions about your experience making this. Not sure if you will see this comment, but was wondering if you'd be willing to share your email so I could send you some questions? Thanks!

This is beautiful. Thank you for documenting and sharing this!
Looks great! Is there an easy way to change the plans so its dimensions are small enough to have it fit a 2.4m high ceilinged room?

Perfect, thank you!
Hi Chris, did you get a material cost for this? In your opinion, is this a viable product you could happily sell on to people if you made more?
@Daniel White according to the construction manual the needed parts are:
12 sheets of plywood: 2440mm x 1220mm x 18mm
4 sheets of plywood: 2440mm x 1220mm x 4mm
500 stainless pan head screws: 3.5mm x 30mm
So the price of the whole thing will depend on how expensive these parts are in your area of the world, the cost of tools and the cost of possible additions (like a coating, plant pots, etc).

@@MultimediaByChris are there any new suggestions or results for beeing sustainable outdoors?
Dr0wn95 No. Not really. I think painting the wood would help seal things.
This is beautiful. Is this sold in store or custom order?
