As a french speaker (from France) you can understand Pokimane better because she articulates more. xQc speaks really fast and his canadian accent is more pronounced
Quebec French is easier to understand when you live here lmao
Also it’s not a Canadian accent it’s just a Québecois accent
Honestly, pokimane sounds like she's speaking French from France with an American accent and xqc sounds like he's just speaking French from Quebec
I understand him better cause I learned quebecois french first, then english.
Parisian or metropolitan french is easier to understand when not a native speaker tho.
well she's north african..
that was so fun to listen to, pokimane’s french is like my grade 12 immersion level of french, and xqc is just a french maniac
ye lol, poki sounds like an A-Student french in school, kinda slow but tries to say everything correctly. XQC is like a drunk french random guy lol
xQc’s French is actually a little off because his accent is all over the place. Probably because he doesn’t speak French as often as before. Maybe Poki’s accent was influencing his French Canadian accent though
@@flyersfan0287 agree! french is my second language and english is my third . I can't understand québécois accent easily than let's say understanding irish or australian .
@@gordonbman2911 xQc's french is just as fast speaking as his English haha.
@@kasper7250 i live in france and honestly his speaking is pretty normal speed even here
It's pretty crazy how quickly someone can lose their fluidity in their native language when they dont speak it as often as they use to
both crazy and sad
Happened to me with my native language
happened to me as well, after 10 years in the US I have to ask/look up words all the time
Yea after 6 years of living in japan only speaking in Japanese when I went back to my own country I had to put so much effort in composing a coherent French sentence. I think your brain just gets used to the sentence structure and shortcuts expressions in one language that when you switch you have to recover all your saved phrases and expressions.
True, but when it comes to native language it comes back very fast. The thing is X's trying hard to be understandable in french because he has the most french canadian slang and accent ever, it's like he's translating to regular french
People who don't speak French: omg he's probably saying something romantic
Him and Her: English people are stupid lmao

I don’t understand French at all, but I can tell they said “stupid” in French.. LUL
As an European, I understood Pokimane better than XQC. XQC talks so damn fast and as he said because he’s Quebec, he mixes and cuts a few words together which makes it harder French people to understand.
Yeah we easily understand fremch from france but people from france have trouble understanding us
Tenquiet big, ces pas gros chose.
Same here, I don't speak french fluently, but I can understand Poki better than X.
So the same exact way he speaks in English is how he speaks French?
@@londoneliot4588 Very true haha
THE OFFICIAL TRANSLATION COMING IN HOT :
P : You wanna speak French ?
X : Sometimes but my French is, you know...
P : Your french is very good. Mine looks like shit. You sound really from Quebec.
X : My french is really scuffed.
P : Really ?
X : Not really, I speak french with my parents.
P : Me too. I almost never practice tho but I went to Canada for 3 weeks and it's a bit better.
X : You speak like...
P : ....Like a baby
X : No, like you're french or belgian. (Translator's note : This is because Poki is from Morocco where they speak French because of past french colonies)
P : Oh really ?
X : Yeah, it's more french than...
P : You know, I have a "théorie", "théorie" is french for theory, right ? I have a theory that you speak fast in english because you speak really fast in French
X : Yeah, yeah
P : But french speaking people just speak fast but because you and I learnt french before English, we speak fast and we think fast so when we started learning english we started to think fast and speak fast but english speaking people are stupid, they understand nothing (R OMEGALUL LLED) no i'm kidding they're not stupid, but you know what i mean

I wish he would speak more french with random people, Idk why but it's just fun hearing him speak his native language
What’s so funny though is that he can’t speak his native language well. It’s easier for him to speak English but even then it’s still scuffed. It’s like Felix can’t speak any language lol. I’ve never known someone who has an accent but can’t speak the language that causes the accent.
yeah he legit lost some of his french
@@WKAnonther yeah but its not too bad. It's just that sometimes some words in english are more convienient to say so if you're french/english bilingual you're just gonna pop and english word in you'Re sentence cause it fits better.
@@WKAnonther if you don’t use it enough you lose it so it’s understandable

I mean it is a bit scuffed. French people from france typically have a hard time understanding Quebec French.
@@ardellandaya1965 But it's ot scuffed tho, I understood everything he said perfectly. People here in france make no effort to understand other accent. Also, dialects/accent doesnt mean it's scuffed, just like american english isnt scuffed even if it sounds very different from UK
@@ardellandaya1965 Thats kinda like saying you don't understand uk English (let's say your from the usa or canada)
@DeathNikki I don't know if you're talking about the original comment or my reply, but the goal of my original comment was saying that people that don't speak French at all are judging the Quebec accent. If you're talking about my second comment, then that still doesn't make sense, because I can just switch the scenario and my point would be even more valid.
French is like the third most spoken language in America and is still widely spoken in states like Louisiana and even Ohio. But if we are being real, if Canadas primary language other than English is French, America's is Spanish. Especially in the south and south west.
When Poki called english people stupid, you can easily separate the chat members who understand french and ones who don't based on their reactions lmao

" scuffed french "
say people who don't speak French , and only know english .
I mean his French is scuffed. He literally said it himself. “Mon français vraiment scuffed”. My French is really scuffed. And it’s true. Québécois French is harder to understand for French people in france because Quebec French mashes words together and also mixes in a little English. Morocco, a previous French colony had learned French the more traditional way. Poki sounds like an A-student in French- she’s slower, but is saying the words more or less correctly. Felix is faster, mispronouncing some words and mashing them together.

@@marcinjankowski4432 as a native speaker, that is correct. nothing wrong with that of course, but poki's french is slow paced
Xqc saying "wesh" is so funny to hear
Poki’s French is more understandable. Speaks slower but can pronounce words better. X is a little more scuffed, but you can definitely understand it. One sounds like somebody who learned it in school. (Poki, from Morocco, Arabic is their official language but she learned French in school and also speaks French to her parents) You could assume her French accent became less discernable after moving and no longer needing to speak French. Her accent is less of a native speaker and more of an American student learning French, after all those years of developing an American accent. X definitely sounds like a québécois lol.
Best post yet. As a Quebecois this is accurate. Poki learned in school, XQC naturally at home + friends, etc.
Morocco's official languages are Berber and Arabic, she's probably from a richer family so francophone

@@jojo-dh7sl No, but it is in their power to start speaking it again. French has died in quite a few places across North America due to pressure from government, discrimination, displacement, etc, and there isn’t a government to actively protect it in many areas. Keeping French alive requires actively learning, and encouraging use, or you’re complicit in turning your region into a new Louisiana, sadly. It’s no one’s fault individually that it’s dying, but it’s shameful and up to us to fix through individual learning, and political action.

Native Quebec french speaker here! XQC is a bit rusty but definitely still has his quebec accent, he was saying that his french was a little "scuffed" while Poki's accent resembles France or Belguim accent. Quebecois people have a reputation of merging multiple words into a few syllables, for example, "À ce temps si," (Nowadays) becomes "Astensii" because they talk so fast.. He might also be a lil self conscious about his french too, but I think its great!

You are correct, the vast majority of people in Morocco and Algeria can speak good french as a second language, and a bunch of other countries in Africa have the same phenomenon, because they were all formerly french colonies.
