@@KazrogPlugins It's insane how many people I am surprised to hear know each other from Sneap. I think that place bread a lot of talent. I play a Solar Artist Series and I for sure rip it through Kazrog \m/
@@endconnr Absolutely! I’ve said it before, but it was really an amazing community back in the day, and we all helped one another get better at what we do. Andy’s kindness and generosity kicked that off, and I’m eternally grateful to him and everyone on the forum. Once upon a time, I ran an FTP server that all of us Sneap forum users could all upload stuff to (mixes, IRs, session templates, presets, whatever.) Good times!
Yessss, this one is really nice. Currently can't put my half stack in the room, so I've been using this in MainStage as my rehearsal amp (via my studio monitors) for a couple of weeks now. It sounds so good!
I’ve got this plug in and it sounds absolutely fantastic, one thing is that this guy has been doing amp sims for years and goes way back to the Sneap forum days and those guys on there praised Shane’s plugins and that’s no mean feat! This thing with my 7 string with Fishman Moderns plugged in sounds utterly insane however it is very VERY CPU intensive which I can appreciate that this goes into what makes this thing sound as good as it does but one instance of this in a session will blow it over no doubt unless you’re running a modern beast of a Mac/PC. If you’re clever about things then it’s going to be usable for re amping and hopefully there’s a standalone version coming soon. It compares favourably with the nDSP plugins and is probably better in some cases, it’s cheaper too and on sale right now. The IRs are fantastic and if you can locate them to load up into an nDSP then you have the best of both worlds!
Dude I'm a Kazrog fan! True Iron and True Dynamics are really nice, their ampsims usually don't have a super modern interface, but it sounds great for me!
Such an incredible amp sim. Using it on my current mix I’m doing. Definitely beat out some other amp sims i tried that i often rely on. Artist is very happy so far.
i used those Thermionik sims a ton back in the day. idk how accurate they were (the Engl Savage one was fairly off-the-mark) but they all sounded good regardless.
Yeah mang. This is a winnner. I bought this when it came out and really dig it. Good selection of boosts and IR's, amazing amp and a nice simplistic EQ. Fantastic. Pretty psyched for what's next in this lineup. Cheers Fluff
Thanks for this one! The IR section is nice, and since they account for like 80% of the overall sound, that's the area I usually zip through first. Seems odd working backwards like that, but it works.
I’ve got to look at my own favorite plug-in. I didn’t think to look at the lower mid boost function in the cab iR area. I usually mess a lot with the high and low pass filter for mixing double-tracked guitars. However, that’s a game in itself with using less gain to avoid the flubby flub flub from getting into a mix. Awesome demo! I’ve always used your channel for reviews when I decide upon buying gear.
Recently trialled this and it was great! I personally preferred the 5150 emulation in TH-U that I compared side-by-side with this, as it just felt nicer to play into, but the UI wasn't great to use, whereas the Kazrog was simple as you mentioned.
Thanks for the feedback! A lot of 5150 emulations out there actually have a bit more attack than the real amp, and for that reason sometimes people will prefer a more modern take on the sound. That's one of the reasons why AmpCraft 1992 launched with so many boosts from day one, so you can really sculpt the pick attack response to your guitar and tastes. Cheers!
@Kazrog Inc. No problem! That's interesting to know. The reason why I preferred the TH-U emulation was because I felt there were more dynamics in the lower mids. It just felt more responsive to my playing... But this is coming from someone who hasn't actually played through a real 5150. Perhaps that's the modern attack that you mentioned.
It's really good! My only issue with it is that it crashes Gig Performer when I try to "turn" the knobs on it. However, in Garage Band I can use it in controls mode and it works fine. Does anyone else experience this issue in macOS Monterey? None of my other plugins do this.
Thanks, and sorry about that! We're about to issue the 1.0.1 update for macOS Monterey - in fact, Fluff was using the beta in this video. It resolves any macOS Monterey specific issues.
This one actually had me a little confused. Thermionik still gets praise. All they had to do was re-release it, but instead they added to the saturated pool of 5150 sims?
AmpCraft is a new engine entirely, with much higher modeling quality than Thermionik. While I appreciate the praise that Thermionik continues to receive, it was time for a new engine, and this has been in the works for several years. More amp models are coming to the AmpCraft line soon. This model was first because of its personal importance to me to represent it properly. Thanks!
@@KazrogPlugins Yeah, that’s fair; you gotta do what you think is best! I think just from a marketing standpoint, it would have been a good idea to do something to set yourself apart and another 5150 sim isn’t it no matter how much better it is than the others. I’ve never run a plugin company before though, so obviously this is an armchair opinion that’s next to meaningless Now that you’ve gotten the 5150 out of your system though, the next release could be something no one else has done!
Going into this, I knew that “another 5150 sim?” would be the most common reaction. It was just very important to me to do it anyway, and was the perfect testing ground for new amp modeling techniques, as it’s the amp I’ve had the most personal experience with of any tube amp period. Rest assured, the next models won’t be stuff that’s been emulated nearly as often, and some of the upcoming models have (to my knowledge) never been done before.

Just a quick question about amp sims. I have a presonus audio box 96 i am using your signature amp sim well the free amp one anyway. And its good for reamp but if i wanns just use it for regular play there to much latency. I tried to lower sample rates but it as low as it will go already. Any ideas on what i can do to get rid of the latency
You need to adjust the host buffer size, which is represented as samples per buffer. In most DAWs, this will be adjusted in powers of two, e.g 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 and so on. Lower values = lower latency, at the expense of higher CPU load. With most modern interfaces, you should be able to find the sweet spot to where you can play through plugins in realtime without noticeable latency.
is it just me or is there a lot of compression on the audio? i’m experiencing a lot of dips and then gets louder. i’m imagining it is the youtube compression.
