Great review!! Taught me a lot about a plugin I've had for years. Now, I have some ridiculously good headphones and heard everything you pointed out!! This is truly an excellent plugin!!! 🙂🧡
SHHHH!!! You've just revealed my secret tool! How dare you! Just kidding, I've been using TRUE IRON for a couple years and I love it! PS: I'm a Green Guy
True Iron looks like a fun and powerful plugin for getting that analog charm without committing to whole channel strip emulations on every track! The magic of transformers finally clicked for me when I got to try out the SE Electronics RN-17 small diaphragm condenser, the one designed by Rupert Neve with a big hunk of iron built into it. That subtle saturation and compression added grit and sparkle to a monster snare bottom that was just overloading my other SDC options.
Oh man! I’d love to try out that mic! Fingers crossed I’ll be able to one day! Transformers are where it’s at! And yes. True Iron just creates that magic. I really love it!
I’ve downloaded so many plugins that promised analog heft to no avail. But THIS plugin? Goes on every track. It is the only digital thing that genuinely adds that low mid depth to my ears.
I agree. It’s fabulous. That’s why I wanted to do this video. I’ve been using it on everything for a while now. Another plugin that actually sounds like the real deal is the VoosteQ Model N Channel - which is a Neve console. It’s really amazing.
I am not "That Guy," but I appreciate learning about this stuff, casually, and I am always here for the show. I actually spit my dinner out when you said "...has been kicking names and taking ass...." Yup, I'm going to steal that. One thing on so many plug-ins and other visual controls that confuses me is that the input with the mouse is linear, but the visual feedback is rotational. This is like somebody saying "no" while they nod "yes" and saying "yes" while shaking their head "no." I don't understand why the input is not rotational as well. I can make circular motions with my mouse. Is this a super power? Hearing you explain some of the nuances of audio here is the same as when I explain the functioning of a copper coated ceramic relief valve and its interaction with the pressurized sockle-tube hemispherical equalization nodule for the inter-dispersing of Austenitic crystalline formations within a nocturnal metal. Ferrous metal, of course. Another great song as always. You couldn't see it, but I was holding up a lighter. (thank god we are about the same age). I refuse to hold up a phone with the light on.
Hahaha! Oh man! What a mouthful! Hahaha. That’s insane! I hope that’s always prepared for you to say at parties! That’s fabulous! Thanks so much for hanging in there with me! And I’d be holding a lighter too! Not a cell phone. Cause what is this?? Amateur hour! Haha. Right on! Cheers dude!
Great stuf! I love adding this to guitar and drum buses and dialing in a little saturation. Nice demo song. Kazrog destroyed the balrog. lol The Avalon 747 is a fun one too. Works great on voice and drums with subtle settings. cheers!
Yep. Is a really good transformer emulation. Very, very nice and beautifully subtle. I know it was mostly for humor. But your voice and song writing style since really good! 😎
Hahaha. Technically a totally different kind of plugin. While the Model N Channel is a Neve preamp, True Iron is a transformer emulation only. It’s like sending your audio through expensive and rare iron-core transformers. You should try the demo. It’s really a cool plugin for mastering. It’ll probably sound killer on voiceovers too!

@@TheRecordist first I’ve heard of the VoosteQ I’ll have to look into it. I’ve been using the UAD Neve or Analog Obsession Channev here and there.
I hope the plugin doesn't need 1.21 gigawatts to run. 😊
Nope. Only a bolt of lighting! Hahaha.
Eclipsed my nerd level factor by at least one Satoshi Nakamoto.
Hahahahaha

Nice sounding delay on your voice what was it?
Oh thanks! That was SoundToys EchoBoy.
@@TheRecordist lovely thank you very much!
Is that you, Musashi Miyamoto-sama?
It is I! The samurai! Haha

Hey thanks so much! That’s what I used to do. Music.
And yes. Great plugin! One of the best!
Cheers!
You're really fully good with "used to"? I l would ove to see what you came up with when you were fully invested in creating music!
Wow… even better than the voost N-channel?
