Preserving these wild tracks against the depredations of 4x4s, quad-bikes, moto-cross bikes is essential. Otherwise they will all be shutdown and NObody will get the benefit of the views/scenery and these gravel roads will no longer be accessible to law-abiding people.

Fantastic video we went up one of those single track roads in 2006 in Italy in My Disco 2 with 4 children and my wife Kathy after the first 30 minutes she got out with the 3 Girls and Oscar my son and I rode in the car all the way up and down!!!! She would not go in the car, to be honest I was a bit scared but we made it.
Just done 3000 miles around southern France and Beautiful Northern Spanish coast in Disco 3 with a freshly re built auto box. She ran like a dream and averaged 32.8mpg. Love your content so inspiring and yes Christian those Forts should be restored and maintained for future generations.
So sad they are in such a state.

    Hi guys,
Very nice video... in the beginning. Then...
NO, rules are not "stretchables" in France... ( apart maybe for German people on holydays that just would'nt dare in their country) !
From what i see, you traveled in an aera that sufferred heavy damages from huge flood few years ago that killed almost 20 people (fyi Tthis road had been paved on purpose because the main road was not usable anymore) !
By not respecting the direction of alternate traffic, you put yourself in danger, and above all you put other users of this road in danger.
I never thought German people could be irresponsible or irrespectful at this point... very disapointing.

As is usual a totally enjoyable episode of LR Time, an amazing and pretty tricky landscape to traverse, you wouldn't want to go off the side of any of those trails in your LR or on your bicycle, it seems so steep and long way down. Bonus the Disco 3 didn't fail-to-proceed once in the whole trip.
Vera, you are a "Wonder Woman" the amount of trail walking/running/riding that you do. How old would those fortifications be that you camped at?

You guys make such good YT content whatever you do.
    LR time really deserves many more subscribers which you could get by using "clic-baitey" titles like;
    LR3 nearly falls off Alps
    Or

    Or
Discovery driver runs red light and avoids capture by the police

Entertaining as usual and a lot of good humour. Handling the big disco on the dangerous narrow mountain passes like a pro with an eager spotter to handle the most demanding obstacles. I wouldn't dare to ask my wife to run forward in a rain storm. 😉
You have a compressor under the hood just to pump tires? Wouldn't that be possible to do it with the suspension compressor? You don't need a lot of air to do that and if im right the air reservoar has 17 bar of pressure to run the suspension. A conection for an external tube would probably be possible.
Keep up with the good work on the disco's and other entertaining stuff for us. I really like to watch!👍💪

Spectacular, many thanks you two, wonderful footage, as most people on the planet will never ever get to see it in person, you are much appreciated by me at least, and I am so with you Christian on the subject of preservation of history, the good and the bad should be preserved so people can learn both, IMHO maybe if that happened people would be more tolerant of the mistakes of others. Shame that history is so disrespected there in France.

  • @rotax636nut5

Cristian, I can't believe what you said about the French crapping down the side of the toilet, well that exact same question has occurred to me on a number of occasions when I've been to France, can any one out there explain this? I have a feeling that the French crouch over the side of the toilet rather than sit on the seat and this causes the trajectory of the turd to be off to one side, also of course all the muck the French eat causes their turds to be very soft and sticky (and stinky) so leave skid marks where ever they touch down. Thank you for these episodes and updates you 2 are something else, there is nothing else quite like you out there and it's well funny to watch the way you 2 interact with each other, tell Vera that I think she's a babe 😛😍 and I still live in hope of a BR Time episode heh heh, look after yourselves friends..

@LR Time Loved the trip! I'm too poor to tour Europe myself but vids like this make it nice to see! And you're not wrong, the American "historic sites" are WAY too overdone, but, they do generate decent money for the State & Federal Parks that otherwise get $0 for maintenance & such. I live in Texas and even the Alamo makes me a little sick. It's not even the real Alamo! It's one of those "what-if projects" done back in the 60's. But it makes a fortune in money annually. Who knows where the Alamo money goes

Those are awesome roads, even by Canadian standards. In fact parts of the terrain and road look a bit like the interior of British Columbia. I have to admit some of those drop offs would get my fear of heights going. I can imagine just how miserable those forts would be in the middle of winter for a solider stationed there. It's really quite amazing where they built those roads and forts! I full agree it's a shame they don't mark the forts with any information.

other than the switch backs, it appears to just be a gravel road. probably my Honda CRV would be fine with it?

I was thinking a 2cv would do fine there too.

Of course you can. The CRV is so much smaller than a Disco. 🙋‍♀️

Do you really, really want to do that with 2cv? I certainly don't. And I know what a 2cv is, by the way. 🙋‍♀️

Wow those were some tight twitch bum moments on those passes at the start!! Did you drive it in Low Range 1st or 2nd gear?
Great effort on all the driving! Oh and the running vera 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️

Rarely in 1st or s2nd gear at low range, but whatever is needed depending how steep it is. An action cam does not show how steep it really is unfortunately. 👍🙋‍♀️

Two questions on that old one Christian & Vera:
Is there a video of your compressor install? Just for comparison, did one myself few years ago :-)
Did you find the reason for the EAS fault you got (too many transitions/events)? Had the same the other day after driving a trail with quite a lot deep potholes.
    TIA !

@Vera_and_Christian Now, did you actually find the reason for the suspension fault?

Looking at the DSLR mount (which I printed and used this summer) I was reminded that Christian had a plan for designing a window ventilation panel. How it's going? Signed: Your entitled YT follower trying to get free STL's :)

Yeah, that might take another while. I haven't had the need to sleep inside the car yet. Even if I stayed in the middle of Berlin, I was able to put up my Rooftoptent. Maybe this winter, I have the need to sleep inside the car and need one of these panels. Then he'll design one. But we are really happy that you used your camera mount. I love it and wouldn't want to miss it. 👍🙋‍♀Vera

What a coincidence I did this trail to fort of Viraysse on September 1 !
Even with my short wheel base FJ40 I had to do 3-points turns at every single hairpin... Without powersteering I was dead once at the top xD

Lol. Yes, this was a power steering track for sure. Christian

1:15 No way I could take my wife there :) Tbh, it even makes me bit squeezy. The "what if's" that go though the head there... But the views are amazing. Thank you for sharing!

It looks worse on camera. When you are there, there are actually a couple of centimeters to spare. 😃👍🙋‍♀Vera
