What an impressive journey In 1968, my newly married wife and I drove from Liverpool UK, to Athens, in our 1960 series 2, LWB 2lt diesel Land Rover, for our honeymoon, over much of the same scenery. I had recently rebuilt the engine - thrown conrod - and I fitted all our accommodation, cooker, sink, table & bench seat completely inside, including a bed which let down out of the roof. We carried a lot of stores, rarely stopped on campsites, and spent a whole week camped on a beach near Corinth, before returning home. We still have that old LR. Sunday's LRtime is a real treat with you two, for the engineering, and the fun - thank you both.
OMG that is so cool. Unfortunately we don't have the Jeep anymore we tookon our honeymoon out West in the US. We celebrate our 25th anniversary this week. 😃👍🙋♀️
@@Vera_and_Christian That sounds like another adventure. We have enjoyed several road trips in America. We celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary at the beginning of this month. I now drive a beautiful 23 year old Range Rover P38 in silver with a lightstone hide interior. See you Sunday!
Jb weld is awesome. Lost a filling the other day. While I'm having my chemo and radio I can't have dental work done. So I was told stop treatment and get tooth done or put up with it. I mixed jb let it turn into a putty. Rolled it into a ball and made a filling. Please don't do that yourself as it's not healthy while it sets. But I'm terminal - what's it going to do? Kill me 🤣🤣 Brilliant video again guys. Many thanks. You keep me trucking.
Thanks so much for taking us all along with your vacation adventure. Stunning country side and so little traffic. I guess that’s one of the advantages of owning a 4WD. Fabulous!
I’m dutch, and we call a caravan a “sleurhut” roughly translated as a “dragcabbin” (a cabbin which is dragged behind your car). During and after Covid19 a lot of dutch swapped their caravans for Campervans or they bought themselves a small house in the south of france as an investment, because their bank wouldn’t give them propper interest on their hard earned money……. It was a secret but now you know 😂 Keep up your fantastic video’s, we adore them.
In the UK they are called "shed draggers" and I think it must be some sort of law that when you get to a narrow lane or steep hill on a single carriageway and no overtaking spots that you have to drive behind a shed dragger with the biggest shed allowed on the road being towed by a Suzuki Swift at 12mph !!
Wow, 3,000km without a breakdown, that must be a record😂. We really didn’t expect a holiday video to be so interesting but we found it very entertaining thanks. It’s hard to get my head around how many countries you can drive through in such a short distance. Christian, you keep saying Vera is always eating but she’s still one of the cutest women on UA-cam. Cheers, Stuart and Leanne 🇦🇺
@@sergebuziuski6753 Well done. My friends just did 12,000km in outback Australia in a 200 series Land Cruiser and had a warning light come on just before they got home. It was for low washer fluid😂. Cheers 👍👍
I've always enjoyed your trips just as much as the technical stuff. A real pleasure to be included with both of you delightful people - feels like family - and Egor 🙂
This is like going on holiday from the sofa on a Sunday morning, thank you 🙏 Also this is a Discovery being used as Land Rover, intended or hoped, yet only 1 in 10,000 Disco will live this life!
Hi Christian, I bought landrover discovery 4 Landmark in Aug 2023. At that time my car was doing only 26 mpg. Then I serviced the car myself using 5w30 oil and added ZX1 Extra Lube engine friction lubricant. My car started to give from 26 mpg to 29 mpg. I was really impressed by the lubricant and also engine ran more smoothly. Then again after 7 months later I serviced my car and this time I added STP Ceramic Engine lubricant to my 5w30 Oil. To my surprise I'm now getting 32 mpg. That is big improvement from initially 26 mpg to 32 mpg. I'm very happy now and prity impressed by the lubricant. Happy days .
Hope you don't join the failed bearing and snapped crank group soon. We do not, under any circumstances, recommend running 5W30 or additives. And especially not together, neither in the fuel nor in the oil. Is it really worth risking a major repair just to save a couple of bucks on fuel. Adding the cost of your additive. I mean, it's an SUV and not some fuel saving little car. We understand that running a Disco, or any larger SUV, is not cheap and only for those who are willing to pay the price. Diluting the oil and making it thinner to make it more fuel economic is very dangerous on a Disco 4, especially Gen 2. 👍🙋♀️
@Vera_and_Christian Thank you for informing about the danger of failing component's. I would bear that in mind. Generally I change Oil about every 6 to 7 months. In my next service I will use 5w40 DPF Oil without any additives and see how the engine performs. Once again thanking you
I forgot how beautiful the Alps are,we had the pleasure of driving through the Alps many years ago. Thank you Christian and Vera for bringing us on this trip. Stay safe.
D3 is a great car. :) I just got home from my summer holidays from north of Norway to England/Wales. Around 9600 km without any problems, except the ones i made. :D

Good Sonntag morning Vera & Christian 😊 well what a lovely change from working on LR on you drive. Thank you both so much for taking us on your trip and sharing your adventure it was absolutely amazing 🤩 xx
What beautiful relationships you guys have, with each other, your cars, and your viewers. Together with your great sense of humour, it makes for a fantastic channel, and if I wasn't a poor musician I'd be a Patreon supporter for sure. Thanks for the great content!
You should be sponsored by the European tourism board - the scenery looks stunning! The P38 looks a brave choice for modern off-roading; they have a terrible reliability record in the UK (doubtless due to poor preventive maintenance). An excellent Sunday morning episode - thanks for sharing 🙏
Great footage of a place I will never see in person. Vera seems compelled to tackle the most difficult terrains on her cycle, Christian, the exact opposite. Thanks to you both for taking me (and many others) on your fascinating journey. I wish I had 5% of your organisation skills.

Looks like a lot of fun. I'm glad you get to use your Land Rover for some proper adventures, and get to meet some cool people as well. Don't forget to torque the wheel nuts next time, hey? I have a very nice, very long Snap-On breaker bar a friend bought for me after I tightened his wheel nuts and the wheel nearly fell off after 500km: he said it was ok, and if I was not strong enough here is some more leverage for next time. lol. We don't have much Alps down here, so thanks for showing us yours, they're fantastic and so pretty. Next time I have to run from the law (as you do) I know where I'll be going. Thanks for sharing your adventures, gives me inspiration!
Beautiful Adventure Vera and Christian. All the work on the Disco pays off with such an amazing journey. And it still made future content... these Discos are great.

Glad you guys had a drama-free adventure. Although sometimes a trip only becomes an adventure when something goes wrong ;
Hi from the Netherlands! Loved the video, thanx! The reason you will find less caravans is I think twofold; modern cars are more and more electric or hybrid. The maximum allowed towing capacity is simply not enough for a good family sized caravan. Second possible reason are campers. I don’t know why, but my god are they a hype all of a sudden. Everybody wants a camper these days. I blame social media;) Keep up the good work!!
I have a harebrained theory that it's because the (famously thrifty) Dutch are now so prosperous that they no longer drag along their own "snail houses" anymore and stay in hotels! ;-) Seriously, some of it might be changing tastes, similar to how 4x4s are now so much more available and have rendered station wagons a bit redundant ... perhaps towing a camper with a family car is now considered a bit frumpy and old-fashioned. Did license regulations change, i.e. do you now need a BE license in the Netherlands for a car/trailer combination? When I first started towing a horse trailer in Germany, I was fine with a B license, but when we bought a Land Rover Discovery 4, I had to upgrade my license. Just a thought.
What a great episode Fantastic adventure, great scenery, moutain biking and impressive storage of camping gear in the boot. Keep up the great work of entertaining us all.

You have passed through 50 countries while I’m still getting out of NSW! Thanks for taking me with you. 🙏👍🏻🦘
😅👍 Not only that, we also have a change in scenery all the time. 🙋♀️
