i have the little Neo i can`t believe it stood up to that wind your a braver man than me i wouldn't have the 🏀🏀 to fly it in that. well done lovely shot. 👍
Flew my neo for the first time today, it is so forgiving! I have a mavic I've not had the guts to fly yet! In the past drones were so flakey I have my confidence back!
Merry Christmas to you and family :) I really did not expect the jump from pinhole to Drone footage. The trouble is I want one now! As always another excellent video. I can't wait to see what you get up to in the new year. All the best!
Thank you, and merry Christmas to you and yours 🎄 The drone is something I've wanted to try for a long time, pinhole will not be going anywhere, but hopefully next year a bit more variety, dusting off my Mamiya RB67 for a trip out over Christmas 😁
Incrível! 👏👏E eu, aqui no Brasil com medo de voar com ventos de 30 km/h! 😅😅 Amazing!!! And me, here in Brazil, afraid of flying in 30 km/h winds! Thanks a lott! Nice shots! Congrats! 👏👏
Brilliant!!! I was laughing to myself watching you launch in that wind. I was sure you were going to lose it. Tough little drone. Gave me more confidence to try my one in wind, but not off a cliff 😂. I’ve only had my neo a week but already got my eye on the Avata. I am using the goggles rather than the remote. Hoping the signal is as good.
It handles surprisingly well in the wind, a little fighter 😁 Maybe just keep it low I think the Neo is DJIs Trojan horse, an affordable small drone, gets a load of people hooked, want something bigger and better 😁
You got some nice shots! Be careful flying it in strong winds like that though 🫣. DJI don’t recommend flying off cliffs or over water (in fact they actually say not to) I think the main reason is because, should the drone lose gps signal for any reason, then it relies on the downward sensors. The other thing to be careful of is flying at such a high altitude of course 😉
Thank you, Yeah did read about no flying off cliffs 😁 Apparently, the downward sensors are only used if under 6 meters from the ground (or so), so as long as you're over that, it shouldn't be a problem, apparently
That was a good test of the Neo. I only got mine a couple of days ago as a smaller alternative to my Mini 4 Pro to take on my motorbike. Not flown it yet, as it’s been too windy 😅. Some lovely photos there mate.
Had mine from day one of sales and seem to be flying this little fella more than my other larger dji drones. Its such a great fun drone. Don't think i would be as brave as you on a day like that though😅 Nice vid mate!👌👍
Good stuff. I recently got a Neo as a cheap option to inspect some roof damage post storm Darragh, not really considered it for ‘serious’ photography. Food for thought. Cheers and have a good Christmas 👍🏻
It's pretty bad in low light, and the single-axis gimbal means it has to do a lot of digital stabilisation (which eats into the resolution and doesn't play well with motion blur), but if there's plenty of light and not much wind (meaning minimal image stabilisation required), it's fine.
@@medwynroberts - Also, remember to set all camera parameters to manual if you're filming anything important, otherwise it'll keep adjusting them while recording, and you'll get a lot of colour / brightness / contrast fluctuations which will be almost impossible to fix in post.
Hey WIll, great video... I'm local to Beachy Head (Hailsham) new to drone flying too and recently bought the Neo Combo plus the N3 goggles and RC Motion FPV controller, I was looking up flying at Beachy Head but with the Drone Assist app, this area flagged up as a "SSSI" is that anything to worry about? I know the little Neo is sub 250g so the rules are laxed. Anyway mate, awesome video, kudos to the risk and the wind! Subbed! 👍
Just up the road from me (Polegate) 😁 My app didn't flag anything, I know loads of people fly drones up there (and also paramotors, paragliders and base jumpers) so don't see a small drone being a problem, I suppose as long as you're not interfering with anyone else, go and enjoy the flight, just wait for a nice calm morning 👍
I do have a wind meter, but I left it at home, because when I left there was no wind, will keep it on me next time. I think around 10-15mph with 20mph+ gust's the bag is a Lowepro Hatchback 16L Seems to be hard to get nowadays, closest thing Ive found to it is this s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_onoEC0r
Depends what you want it for. I use it to film extra footage for my vlogs which its AI tracking modes are perfect for, and also for tracking if you cycle, run etc It's an easy first drone. Some also recommend the DJI mini 4k
No, this is Beachy head which is further along the coast in East sussex, is used a lot in films and I believe sometimes used as "The white cliffs of Dover" because they are white and Dovers aren't very white anymore.
Out of interest, is this actually allowed? Isn’t the limit 120m and going over the cliff is far more than that? I’d love to do this but I’m very risk adverse!
I think this is fine, the UK law states. Your drone or model aircraft must never be more than 120m (400ft) from the closest point of the earth's surface. So, ideally from your take off point.
It's the wind gusts that are the problem, I intentionally flew my Neo in 45kph wind gusts, and one flips the drone. It was only at a height of about a metre and on grass, so there was no risk to the drone, but over a cliff huge risk!
i have the little Neo i can`t believe it stood up to that wind your a braver man than me i wouldn't have the 🏀🏀 to fly it in that. well done lovely shot. 👍

It is a very forgiving drone, handles very well, just avoid too much wind and foggy weather, doesn't seem to like fog 😕😁
gorgeous lighthouse and cliff
It is stunning
Beachy Head, nice.
Cool !!!

cool photos like the one looking out to sea and the light house i think the poor little drone was thinking are you mad sending me up in that wind.
Yeah, it did struggle :)

been wanting to do this for ages! never got round to it though, footage looks really nice
It would be great with your FPV, just don't crash because you wont get it back :)
Just bought the neo, my first drone, love it ,but windy weather ,not it's friend ,thanks for sharing
You're welcome, also avoid foggy weather, found out today, almost lost it 👍
That was a good test of the Neo. I only got mine a couple of days ago as a smaller alternative to my Mini 4 Pro to take on my motorbike. Not flown it yet, as it’s been too windy 😅. Some lovely photos there mate.

It's good enough for most things :)

Puts the drone up at 2:35
👏

I lost my Neo in the Sydney Harbour a month ago, totally my fault on trusting it's auto mode too much.
Ouch, yeah I don't fully trust the auto mode, I always keep it connected at least to my phone so I can hit a stop button
Any idea how strong the wind actually was? Also what bag are you using, looks useful with that rear drone section 👍

Would you recommend this drone.

I’ve got a question for you… can the drone fly down the cliff to sea level? I only see drones going up but never below the level of the user!
yes, you can fly down from the starting point.
Not done it off a cliff yet, but was up on a hill and flew it down with no problems at all.
What controller are you using ?
The DJI RC-N3
@ thank you
Forgive my ignorance but is that the “white cliffs of Dover”?

@ nice one! Thanks for clarifying. Amazing shots. Can’t wait to get some of my own!
My neo flipped and crashed when I flew into strong winds
I've heard that happening to a few people, think maybe the gusty weather is worse.
If you fly the neo in too strong a wind, it can be simply flipped over and then stops its rotors, crashes to the ground, happens to me all the time.
yeah was a worry, I tried my best to be careful
Som Drone muy
Be careful with such a small quadcopter in strong wind; make sure it is able to return into that wind, otherwise you're gonna loose it.
I did a few test runs before sending it over, that last bit though it was struggling.
It's the wind gusts that are the problem, I intentionally flew my Neo in 45kph wind gusts, and one flips the drone. It was only at a height of about a metre and on grass, so there was no risk to the drone, but over a cliff huge risk!
Do not fly DJI neo under heavy wind. I tried but it will be danger
Your gonna loose it gezer
One day
I have the DJI Neo with the goggles 🥽 n3 but the app is charging me $14 a month is this true to fly my drone
I certainly don't pay anything for the app, make sure you download from the DJI store
