The Pinwide, is the only digital pinhole lens I've liked. It is set closer to the sensor, making a wide-angle lens, like most pinhole cameras. That's the missing element with making a hole in a lens cap. I've contemplated buying a medium format camera for pinhole, but the cost puts me off.
bloody interesting stuff mate, how do you get on with snapseed
It's a good app, I don't use it often but certainly one of the best free apps
really nice photos will the Titan photos come out nice.
Thank you, it's a great pinhole camera
Nice! :)
Thank you Sina 😁
I like your wind speed gauge, can you pass on the details please
yes, it is a Skywatch Xplorer 1 Anemometer, I have had it for many years, originally brought flying power kites but recently dug it out to give me more of an idea on how the Neo operates in different wind conditions.
I’ve got a question for you… can the drone fly down the cliff to sea level? I only see drones going up but never below the level of the user!
yes, you can fly down from the starting point. Not done it off a cliff yet, but was up on a hill and flew it down with no problems at all.
Brilliant Images. Really nice to see someone working with such a low price gizmo and turning out excellent results 🙌
Thank you, pleased you like the results.
I think this what happened if my conclusion is correct.. The Neo fighting the strong Wind make itself work hard and draining the power including the battery and power of of its board and making itself resetting its geometry on how far it was on the Land. By resetting I think it found out the ground now is a little bit close to its position because maybe now it's on top of a house, building or the mountain thinking it was the first land from where it takes off. So now it will rise or gain altitude until it reach the correct height. Neo will fight the wind no matter how hard it was. If it's like a storm level 5 wind probably it would push it forward not upward..
It's more than likely the updraft given the drones position. A normal thing for the Neo given its low weight
Took my neo on holiday at Christmas, filming along a beach, when warning for low battery came on, tried to get it back but then critical warning and it sank to the ground, being grey, it blended with the sand, it showed a photo but could not locate it. After about 30 minutes found it. I have now put hi viz tape on it , and bought a strobe light ,worth a thought
Hi, as soon as the battery low comes on it should automatically Return To Home, unless you cancel that. But a good idea to put some HI VIZ tape for aid in finding it
Photos are great mate, mono was very good. Learning about the drone stuff from you too as I got a little one for Christmas.🚁
Thank you, I do love a mono photo😁 It is a great learning drone, really enjoying the process.
be aware of water... it doesnt like flying over water ,,,great video
Thank you, it also doesn't like fog, so I found out the other week 😁
Nice places, nice video.. Greetings from Italy!
Thank you, it's a fantastic location 😄
Like 76 🎉 awesome video congratulations my friend 🇧🇷😎
Very good Will, I love the shot with the jetty coming in from the left, also the mono.
Thank you Jim 😊
I have a Neo and it does this a lot almost lost confidence flying I also press return home and it eventually snaps out of it and come back it’s called a fly off neos are known for it great pics cheers
I've heard many stories about flyaways with the Neo, which makes me worry a bit.
its my vlog drones 😉
I think you would have been better with the mini 4k for that sort of thing. Or do what I'm doing I've got the Neo now saving for the mini 4k, you can never have enough toys.
Need to get an fpv drone next...
I brought the Neo for its following modes, then got hooked on the photography side. But likewise am also saving for a better drone more suited to photography
@@WillGudgeon The Neo is an awesome little drone just a little unsteady in the wind. I`m wanting the mini 4k for more stability and the zoom feature but I'm not getting rid of my little Neo i love it.
Dropped by your blog... Those photos turned out GREAT! Gotta love the little Neo. 😃
Thank you 😊
How long does the battery last? I mean in the practical sense, not what the specs claim 😂
For me, the batteries last around 15-17 minutes.
Not actually timed it, but will. I know when I was flying it in windy weather (so was working extra hard), it lasted around 7 minutes
@@WillGudgeonYikes!
I've enough rubbish that I don't use, in the photographic sense. I'm not going to add to it by buying drones 😱
You're missing out man... Drones are fantastic tools.
Yes, air going up the cliff creating lift stopping the drone coming down, i used to go slope soaring with model gliders, just fly back away from the cliff and all is fine
Great place to fly, and plenty of subjects to take pictures/videos of. With that wind (and those seagulls!), I would have stayed a bit lower I think. Those boats would have looked quite interesting from a lower altitude imo. Pretty sure the wind higher up must have been quite a bit stronger than what you measured at sealevel; always keep that in mind ;-)
Wow, like having your own personal cameraman slave. That can also fly
Just wondering did you go pro to record the rides or did you use something else
GoPro hero 12
tres bonne maîtrise technique... mais les photos ont peu d intérêts..
Okay 👍
Beautiful images, Will. Impressed by the Titan. Must.Not.Buy! 😬🤣
Thank you Jo 😁 The titan is fantastic. Must.Buy 👍
Nice!
Hi Will, I wrote you an email but I am not sure If I have used the correct email address. How could I write to you? Thanks a lot )
Hi Raoul, I have just found your email, was in a junk folder, I will reply shortly 👍
Thanks Will for making this video; very informative. Too bad the Ilford is so expensive as I do prefer it. Thanks also for getting that balloon (even though it's 3 years later!!)😊 They are so hazardous to the environment.
Your welcome 😁 I looked back at this the other week actually to see how much the average prices have gone up, went to get some Ilford and was a bit surprised how expensive it is now. The average price of Ilford Delta 100 4x5 was £42 (box of 25) Now at least £55 Fomapan 100 4x5 was around £38 (box of 50) Now £45
@@WillGudgeon In Vancouver, Canada we pay around $100 for a box of Ilford (25 sheets), which is crazy! Fomapan (25 sheets) is around $60 plus shipping because I can't get in Vancouver. The prices are going up and up🥴, but then again everything is more expensive in Canada!
@@nich6220 that is insane 😱
Happy New Year! Keep making more pinhole videos. It inspires me to keep doing pinhole photography as well. Thanks
I will keep doing plenty of pinhole videos, love being out with the pinhole camera, may be a bit my variety this year though 😁
Great news❤!! Looking forward to it!! One question. The pictures you show are post processed? Do you use a scan or print them? Thanks a lot! )
Thank you, I scan all my images, works better for me, tried a bit of contact printing, but always a struggle to find the time
@WillGudgeon thank you )
I started shooting pinhole after watching your channel with mixed results. Looking forward to the master class.👍keep up the good work
Thank you, hopefully what I put togther will help many people out 😁
Great video Will, I really must get down to Hastings soon. You captured some great shots there. I spent yesterday morning up on the snowy downs with my MF pinhole, always tricky to shoot snowy scenes but when you get it right its great.
You can't beat a day of photography down on Hasting beach, great location. Wish I got out on the South downs with the snow, didn't get too much near me, plus I had to be at work 😔 hope you got some great photos though
The Master of Pinhole, nice shots Will
Thank you 😁
I like the second one-I believe it is. RX56 and the birds. I have also been using the same light meter app on my Samsung S22 for probably two years, and I was amazed that you could input your desired aperture. I stopped the film and grabbed my phone excitedly, Only to find no option to input apertures. I can only select pre-set ones. Maybe it's not available on all phones? Anyway, great film, as always. Cheers
Hi Scott, thank you, took me a while to figure it out. As you open the app (screen with Camera Meter, Sensor meter etc) scroll all the way down to Custom values with a (1/2), select Aperture and input away. Hopefully that helps, I do have the paid version, don't know if that's any different.
@WillGudgeon, thanks for the info. I found it, and it's a game-changer! Happy day🙂
Great images Will, hope you have a great pinhole 2025!
Thank you Rob, I hope so too 😁 Also I hope you have a fantastic 2025
Open shutter and dropped phone is my kind of day 😂, great video.
Thank you, that's a good day for me 😆
Gorgeous photos! I liked the one with the large hook the best. Have you tried the Pinhole Assist app for IOS? It does everything for you in one app!
Nice!
Thank you
Oh! LOVED seeing the Jack Henry and Clara June in your shots! That Rock-a-nore is the place that keeps giving! 👏👏👏👏
Its fantastic down there, definitely back again soon 😁
Awesome as always, Will! You are lucky to near such a location! Look forward to your master class vids 🙂
Thank you 😁
What a great location to explore! So many subjects, colors, surfaces, contrasts etc etc. :-)
It is stunning, so much to explore, not an area I will ever get bored off.
They're all impressive - fair play 📷👍
Thank you 😀
I love this 7:19 and The Harman Titan is freaking awesome, very sharp for a pinhole.
Thank you, it is amazing what comes out of that camera.
The moment of panic when you pull the dark slide and realize the pinhole shutter is open. I have done that enough times to know better.
So have I 🤣, I may learn one day 😁
Looking forward to the master class
Thank you, hopefully start planning it out soon and putting something together 👍
Even the image of the lifeboat house worked for me. Something about the overcast conditions and how desolate the environment seemed with no other people around made it quite ethereal.
I do like overcast days, also a nice early start keeps most people out the way😀
i have the little Neo i can`t believe it stood up to that wind your a braver man than me i wouldn't have the 🏀🏀 to fly it in that. well done lovely shot. 👍
Thank you, it handles well for a little drone, does make me nervous sometimes though😅
Great photos as usual and wonderful sense of humour! If you were going to Rome, what pinhole camera would you take - Zero Image 6x6 or Ondu 6x6?
Thank you very much, both the Ondu and Zero image are fantastic cameras, I think the quality of the image will be on par with each other, maybe one benefit with the zero is the ability to use a cable release (if you buy that model). The Ondu I think is better looking, but that's a personal choice 🙂
@@WillGudgeon Thanks so much for your advice:) I was leaning towards the Zero Image one, but this gives me a bit more food for thought!😊
@nich6220 I've owned my zero image for more than 10 years, awesome camera 😁
@@WillGudgeon I bought my Zero Image 4x5 because of your videos!! Love this camera but now you've inspire me to try a 6x6!!
@nich6220 6x6 is a lovely format, especially on a trip where 4x5 is not practical. Tough choice between the Ondu and zero though 😁
Hi. I'm completely new to pinhole cameras, but it looks amazing. What is the benefit of using that type of film - the large ones that fit in that camera, compared to using 35mm film like Ilford HP5+ for example that I've seen go into other pinhole cameras? Does it affect the image somehow?
Hi and welcome along to pinhole photography 😁 Large format will capture more detail, better sharpness and personally a nicer looking image. 120 film works really well and can achieve some amazing results um a bug fan of 6x12, never actually used 35mm film with a pinhole camera, is often more grainy and a much softer image. But I have seen some fantastic results from some pinhole photographers.
@@WillGudgeon Thank you, Sir! I am interested in using 120 6x12 to take some shots of the sky, into the sun, to play with the effects you can get - especially as you don't have a lense causing problems. But how would you meter for that? As I understand it, if I point a meter at the sun, it will give me a reading which will turn that into 18% grey - or whatever EV that is. So would I need to take that reading and then increase it so that the shot was exposed properly? If so, how would I decide how much to increase it?
@@danielthechampionoftheworl8490 I think a lot of that would need a bit of experimenting, I would depending on how much cloud coverage there is, I would expose for the highlights, then if there is a lot of cloud see if I get a different metre reading away from the sun then find an exposure rating in the middle, and go by that. But certainly something to experiment with
@@WillGudgeon Good man! Thanks. That makes sense. I'll give it a go.
@@WillGudgeon Oh, one thing I forgot to mention/ask - do you ever use a digital camera to judge exposure? Just take a shot and then use exposure compensation up or down to see what it does to the image? Is there something different between how a film exposes and how a sensor exposes that might make that not transfer over to film correctly?
