Great tip for establishing a style, especially for portraits. A great followup video would be to show how to create a profile that can be imported to Lightroom. While its not fully editable (you can adjust the strength or opacity) it would enable you to get what you've created without having to go into Photoshop every time.

I must confess that I had never heard of gradient maps before using this video. I'll be eager to try one when I take an applicable photo. Many thanks.

Thank you for that lesson, I'm starting to use Gradients more as I like composite photos, and gradients blends all the different elements so that the look like they belong together.

I had never heard of gradient maps until watching this video either. Great video and something I will definitely try! Thanks so much. This looks better than using the wheels in Lightroom for HL, midtones and shadows to develop a style.

Great video, thanks Anthony! But what is the equivalent where I could get the same effect in Lightroom? Some mixture of Curves and Split Toning? The Gradient Tool with Range Masks to target the brightest and darkest zones in an image with colorize? It would be nice to create something similar in Lightroom.
