    Thanks, Simon. I'm just getting started with gradient maps, and your suggestion about deleting the center control point made the whole concept very easy to grasp.

    Fantastic just what I needed.I have big problems getting my head around the Gradient tool in Affinity photo ,not the one in Develop mode I am ok with that ,the one in photo persona.Thanks again.

    I`m quite a beginner in editing my photos and have never really understood the meaning of this tool, untill now.
    Can you explain the exact "formula" when you created your "Teal to Orange" preset.
    I very much like the mood it creates.

      I that video it shows how you can pick colours from the photo, but you can also pick colour from any other document. For example, Google "Teal" and it will display Teal colour swatches which you can pick for . Then repeat for orange. Once the colours and the blend mode set, save the preset so you can apply to any image.

    This is all very good but it looks as if you're altering the Hue or the gamma So where is the gradient: the effect that progressively goes from black to white and is essential to everyone that works with 2D and 3D images
