The coin guy is like a coin dealer i would go to as a kid. I would go in his shop with my $10 allowance and spend an hour or more looking for just the right coin I could buy. He would show me coins, tell me history. I would go with some history in my pocket, and learned something along the way.
I can’t wait to come see the coin guy in June . I have a coin I need his expertise on . I want to thank you Spegtacular for the consistency of your videos and dedication of spreading knowledge. The coin guy has become a trusted and familiar face for me . So now I plan on a trip to see him . I hope I am fortunate enough to be able to meet you as well . God bless both of you and your families !
I live 2 hours away from coin guy. I go see him periodically. He is great, his whole family is great. His son has a place in st.augistine FL called the Vault and co. He is closer to me so I deal with him a bunch. He is good too. Coin Guy will take time to talk to you, no matter how busy he is. Good luck with your coin.
If you come to Spring Hill, make sure you check out the Weeki Wachee River when you come…it’s about five-ten minutes from his shop. It’s actually my backyard.
I love the variety of topics that you guys cover in a single video. I feel like there's a bunch of stuff I want to comment on, but I don't know where to start... so I'll just say thank you for bringing us more enjoyable content. 👍
I agree with you and coin guys thoughts, also love your channel and just got into silver stacking and figured I'd save everything I have and one day my son can have it all after my time is up. Thank you both for sharing your knowledge and I'm glad to be apart of this amazing community.
What a great video! I’ve been waiting on a coin guy video I love how he justus about history, and his new inventory that you bring before I go in shop. I love the small little side stories he brings up. I feel like you guys a great duo for UA-cam and the coin community!
You filmed this during our two days of winter. As I’m watching this it 10:15 at night. All the windows are open and it’s still in the mid seventies in my house. Y’all mentioned the prices for Dansco albums. I felt extremely lucky when Guy sold me a US Type Set book for $25. I missed the FUN show but I’ve got my sights set on Summer FUN.
SpegTacular I keep on clicking thumbs up everytime you interview Coin Guy he is such a plethora of information. This video talking about different variety of gold especially the 1/10 always shows my temptation in buying its so hard to choose which one to get.
I came across you guys a few days ago and love the videos, I now have my 16 year old daughter watching you and coin guy. we love you all the way from Arizona! Stay warm guys its going to be 71 here.
Hey Speg, you know I'm from PA,and I saw that John Ventre was running for Gov,but didn't put 2 and 2 together. That is so cool.Im anti-Wolf.Great interview as always, love talking history.BTW,that drawing looks good on his wall😉
Coin Guy I agree with you. Someone is Manipulating the Silver Price, you can see it in charts like a rubber ban it springs back. Around April or May money will start pouring into these two metals. By June it will be harder to find any to buy. I don’t think I will ever sell. I go off the gold/silver ratio for which one to buy. I like your opinion better then videos on UA-cam. So your customers need to buy you out. They can trust you.
I agree with Coin Guy, for me Ancients, especially Roman are the most interesting. The analysis of ancient coin hoards reveal some interesting facts. If you are ever in London Speg go to the British museum coin department and just see what has come out of the ground. However I always buy bullion coins instead as I am more of a metal investor.
Hey my man spectacular great show I'm coming to spring hill at the end of the month hope to go by and see coin guys store y'all keep up the great work thank you
Really liked when The coin guy talked about climate and the thoughts he had on that topic. I currently study this and have also made a work on large pre-historic wildfires, specifically in the US. They were indeed massive! He also talked about different volcanoes and the impact those had on climate for many years. Cool guy, he is and very interesting to listen in! Best regards, from Sweden.
And a happy Valentimes Day to you Coin Guy as well! Nice coins and nuggets and I always love the non-factual based political commentaries. When Trump said he wanted more nukes than any other country I was literally shaking my head! It's so nice to know that my grandchildren will inherit the national deficit if they don't die of smoggy air first.
I really like Guy, I could listen to him for hours.. I'm kinda new at coun collecting, I started out collecting Franklin half dollars because I actually found one and then I bought my 1st Morgan 2 years ago and I was Hooked! Now I have 131 Morgans. But now I'm really considering trading most of my coins for Gold. I have NO idea how to do that but I would like to keep my favorites, a few Morgans, Benjis, and a few others and then trade the rest for as much Gold as Possible.
I have a small nugget out of the American River above Sacramento, CA. And it is flaky as you mentioned. Found it in 1965, still have it. Use it for a tie tac.
This was the first time I seen your show. This is the third show I watched. I learned a lot from you. Especially on coin grading and company that grades your coins. I thought that there’s was only two companies that grade coins PGCS and NGCS -? . Thank you for the information on the bad grading company. I did learn so much on from you . I am going to keep watching your show.
Here in Hawaii, we saw our cold spell in December of last year. It was 65 degrees out where I live and I was freezing! Usually it's 80-85 degrees for context. I don't understand how people can even live in 50 degree weather every day.
Dansco albums have exploded too I met a lady this weekend who inherited her brothers coin collection . She said she had a bunch of world coins so I had to buy a world coin encyclopedia which cost me $45 for a 2007 edition I drove over an hour turned out to be a giant waste of time she really wasn’t looking to sell anything and she was one of those people that had a little bit of education making them very scary because she thought common 2000-P Sacajawea dollars we’re all worth $3000 and every single one of them was a Cheerios Dollar.. but she had all the Dansco albums the nickels dimes Indian pennies a whole bunch of them and I was trying to buy just the albums and she wasn’t having it
Hey coin guy was on long island, sunrise highway, Babylon? That's awesome 😎 I live on long island and I recently found out that another overtaxed taxpayer was on long island too. Very cool. Great interview spegs👍
Always look forward to your episodes with the coin guy...lovely man full of Knowledge. I get a good cup of coffee and listen to your discussion on coins love it.keep em coming. PS.By the way I'm a Us coin collector..long story...all the way down under from Sydney Australia..I have a sister that lives in the States . Pss.Assure the coin guy I won't be ringing him ..2 am in the morning! 😊☕👍
When you grow up with the snow, it just gets to be annoying when it goes on and on. A storm here and there is totally tolerable. I love these interviews.
I'm honestly surprised the govt. hasn't come out and outright banned Crypto for encroaching on their turf for currency. Further it is technically against the law to make your own money. Marketplace on NPR is a great economic show for the lay person. He asked at the end of a spot on Crypto, "Crypto's an asset to invest in if you want, but answer me this. Would you want your paycheck to come to you in Crypto?" It's too volatile to be a currency.
It's funny to me that coin dealers are always talking about "manipulation" and then you ask what they do when the price drops and they say stuff like "I hold" or "often the premiums go up" or "I see what other dealers are doing". Which of course is also manipulation and the last one is price fixing (something gas stations used to get in trouble for). Don't get me wrong, not hating on them at all (I like the Coin Guy a lot), they've got to make money. My point is that "manipulation" is just often another word for doing what you need to do to make a buck.
Hyperinflation saw a price increase of 4 Billion times in Germany. That’s gas going from $4 per gallon to $16 Billion! At least everyone will be debt free, hopefully

It sent a column of ash and gas 50 miles up into the atmosphere and the shock wave circled the earth six and a half times. Dutch authorities recorded a death toll of 36,417 but the toll was probably much higher. There were numerous reports of groups of human skeletons on rafts of pumice washing up on the east coast of Africa as much as a year later. Weather was also significantly impacted. Krakatoa had also erupted violently around 325 and may have been an even greater explosion and climate impact.

If you like beer, go for the german gold medal. It's the city of Bitburg where they produce the beer brand 'Bitburger'. The city is close to an American airbase in Germany. So maybe that's why you can find this medal now in the US. Probably a soldier bought it.
When you get a coin from a reputable mint and it comes in a plastic flip, is it ok to leave it in there for a long time or should it always go into a hard plastic case?
Speaking of going to Disney and then seeing Coinguy, that would have been me too, so you would have had a fourth! Sadly -- its a bit expensive to uber/lyft to Spring Hills from Orlando! Lol!

I wish the coin dealers where I live had the personality of coin guy.

Great to see Coin Guy again, love all his history lessons. Coin Guy For PRESIDENT.
Coin guy is probably my favorite coin shop owner featured on these kinds of videos.

Picked up my very first 2 Walking Liberties type 1's. Pretty stoked as I live a long way from the border. USA coins are few and far between.
I have a small nugget out of the American River above Sacramento, CA. And it is flaky as you mentioned. Found it in 1965, still have it. Use it for a tie tac.
Good for you Speg, you have such good LCS Dealers (Vermillion and Coin Guy). A source of vast knowledge there!

29:00 How would we know the price of gold without the internet? How did we know the price prior to ~1995? TV, radio, newspapers, etc.
You two gentlemen make an awesome video. Thank you.
The 1 gram maples come in packs of 25 got 4 packs in dec
Awesome. I actually have that Krugerrand (probably misspelled that). Wish I could hang out at that shop. Great guy.

Happy Valentines Day too all you!!
I love this Amazing old soul...

Florida ain't cold Chicago is Cold 🥶
I sure do enjoy coming along with you on your visits to the coin guys shop.
I enjoy having you!
you dont see platinum jewelry as often someone said they like the color of gold, look at how many metals have that kind of color as platinum.
Interesting he has two sets of barber halves . I assembled a full set of AU55/58 barber halves in 2010-2013, sold them all in 2015
I had album sets of F/VF then as well
Prices have tripled or more for many
And higher grade original coins VF. XF AU sell for multiples of Price guides or greysheet listed prices
A common date VF is give or take $100. Maybe a little less for a lightly cleaned one but for original surfaces and eye appeal expect $125-150
XF $250-400
Better date coins like most of the later S mint coins 2-3x those prices
Semi key like 97-0, 93-S double again
Key date like the 96-0 abs 04-S fahgeddabout it
In 2013 I made the first 1886-0 graded AU58 at PCGS
It ultimately sold at heritage for $14,500. That’s what led to my selling the set - once the 96-0 was gone
Sad days

Krakatoa blew its top in 1883. On August 27, 4 enormous explosions occurred with the 3rd being the most violent. It was estimated to be the loudest sound created in modern times (310Db) and was heard 3,100 miles away. Sailors on ships in the Sunda Strait 40 miles away had their eardrums ruptured.
The COIN GUY is a super star 🤩 love listening to smart people lime him it's educating for the dummies out there.
75 USD for 1gram Canadian Maple is good price low premium.... here in Canada it's about 110--120 CAD or 90-100 USD per gram.
Always enjoy seeing you and the coin guy 👍
Thanks for sharing 😎🏖🏝
