Having the doors integrated in between the inner and outer walls of the train makes it impossible to have larger windows. Typical of the MTA. In my 5.5 yrs in NYC I have never heard of nor seen them refer to technology that exists everywhere else in the world. Instead, everything is designed from scratch. Waste of time. @@cesardepena7498 Open gangways have been around in subway/metro systems all over the world for many decades. These are both new and old systems so no excuses there. I don't think Open Gangway is the right choice for NYC. The problem is wind that passes through the inner length of the train.
