I don’t think they ever have played under the pagan megalith, because both the songwriting and lyrics were created by goatpervertor, but I could be wrong. It is a fantastic song! (Also you need a second vocalist for the last part of the song, which I don’t think they have.)

( it’s pure conjecture though, my opinion is in no way confirmed. Also, infernus plays nothing from incipit Satan through to ad majorem sathanas gloriam, except for incipit satan, unchain my heart and forces of satan storms, so he seems to place quite a bit of importance on not using other peoples music. Katharinas bortgang I think was written both lyrics and songwriting by infernus, which may explain why it’s the only track from pentagram which they perform. Ah, well it would be nice if they placed a bit more emphasis on pentagram. Begravelsesnatt and drømmer om død would be nice played live too. Here endeth the rant.

With all the cost of touring and moving equipment and people around to different shows, how much do they really earn at the end of a tour? How do you live playing music like this in 2024?? Part of me is sad that the bands I had back in the day went nowhere and I fell into a regular career/job. But part of me is thankful because playing this every night and moving equipment and people in constant transit, would have burned me out in no time. No matter how much I love the music or not. But I am very glad Gorgoroth and others are still doing it for us!
This is still so called underground even if band famous. Most of the bands playing because it's their "rock music" life, they do what they want. If you want to earn a lot from concerts it should be Amon Amarth style. And you never know what is really under the hood...
They removed most of the Gaahl-era stuff from Spotify but Infernus can't deny that it's some of Gorogorth's best, so they still perform it live (even Unchain my Heart, which was a surprise...)
I respect the hell out of Hoest, but he just ain't it for Gorgoroth. I find it hard to believe that they can't find someone willing to be their permanent singer, one of the most important bands in Norwegian Black metal? Come on.... you can probably throw a rock at somebody in Norway and they'll be a black metal vocalist
Agree he is not the right voice for Gorgoroth, just listen to revelations of doom, unchain my heart, terrible 🫠, I know he is not going to copy previous vocalist but at least make the song sound close to the original 😒

Gaahl was overrated after seeing him the second time it just felt like the same old thing. Also Revelation of Doom has never sounded good live I don't know what it is but even just the drumming is not the same as the record and I have never seen or heard a good live version of this song. They have played it at every show they have done since the Under the sign was released yet still can't get it right.
Top-notch performance the bestial instinct remains in Gorgoroth specially in living concerts.The black metal flames cannot be extinguished nor being taken from.
Agreed would be interesting to hear him in the studio with them. No idea why the guy from Serbia was chosen completely unknown, doesn't play live with them yet he seems to play live with other bands. A very strange choice when I am sure so many well known vocalists would have joined.

What the hell has happened to Gorgoroth? This is just sad. Hoest's vocals on Katharinas Bortgang sounded like a dying cat. If Infernus has reached the point of just going through the motions and has no future vision for the band to move forward, I feel like they should just disband.

I appreciate that Gorgoroth is Infernus' intellectual property, but it blows my mind how the worst version of Gorgoroth won that court case. This is terrible. Every single song sounds the exact same, at different tempos. The vocalist clearly hasn't warmed up and keeps messing up and sounds drunk half the time. Both guitarists nor the bassist have any stage presence at all, one of which I assume is Infernus. There is no atmosphere. Credit to the drummer though, he didn't miss a note! Looks bored senseless though.

They were probably removed over copyright issues same reason these albums and the last one Gaahl sang on have not been reissued on vinyl.
