- From the Lamphere Ranch Campground taken with a HD Flip from the start of the hail to the end. This is number 2 of 2. Not much damage showing on this one but funny to watch. The look on a bikers face when faced with grave dangerWhile we did not get much damage(our motorhome is made from fiberglass), most of the campers in this campground that had trailors or trucks had very heavy damage.

Nice video! much more fun to watch from this prospective! We were out on the bike just getting back to Sturgis when this hit. I have a giant 5 inch bruise on my arm from where I got hit with the hail! I'll always remember this one!

I was impressed how the canopy tent with holding up
That's one badass canopy to withstand that amount of wind and hail.

I think the 'do you want a blanket for the bike' was 100% correct - but they knew better............
I'm surprised but glad the tents made out pretty well.

I imagine the tents held up partly from strength and partly from flexibility. It must have been exciting for all.
I read a story about cowboys in the old west getting hit by hailstorms while herding cattle to market. Cattle would scatter and it would take a week or so to round them all up again. After seeing this I can just imagine what that must have been like. For men and cattle.
Thank God we take off on Thursday afternoon. Nice video!!

we were lucky to have a fiberglass motorhome. most eveyone around us was not so lucky
I was on stage and the sound was the loudest natural sound I've ever heard.
Should have been there in 2000. Hail was 2ft deap on the interstate. In Belfoush SD hail was so big it went through the rooftops of houses . Cars looked like you took a 2o pound sledgehammer to them. Seen much worse for hail when I lived there

Hiding from that hail by standing under a canopy: that made me think of Wile E. Coyote seeing a boulder falling towards him, so he holds up an umbrella. I hope you used that free ice in your drinks!
Looks like golf balls just bouncin around! I love how the guys try to cover their bikes! My old man would be crying!!!
this is the same storm.. After the storm, we went around and picked up some and found some to be betwwen golf ball and tennis ball size. 1 mile away they have softball size.

Joe Bring Actually it was in softball size hail it was grapefruit size hail about a mile away from us. Which is probably a little bigger than a softball.

You know somewhere in one of those tents or campers there is at least someone hung over or something who missed the whole thing they slept through it.

Thats the reason I ride with a full face helmet, one night I rode into some of that at 75mph, got hit in the teeth and it broke a tooth. Been wearing a full face lid ever since.
