This is my favorite youtube wine channel. lots of information and my goal is to watch every video! This has likely been asked before, but where would you suggest i look to purchase many of the wines you review? I saw a link to lastbottle which i've subscribed to for years. But one doesn't have a lot of time to research their daily selections. Your thoughts on buying thru Vivino online and Total Wine? Our local store had a 20 year old Petrus for about $4200. This is above my budget, but they can have good wines that are competitive priced.
Thanks very much! Appreciate the support and very pleased to hear that!
Many of the wines I feature on this channel are available at Total Wine. In fact, my Wine Store Visit videos are at my local Total Wine. B21 is an online retailer with sharp pricing and good service that I recommend. Benchmark Wine is also good.
Thanks for the reply and advice! A friend and I have really upped our game on wine since we've made many trips to European wine areas. We made a trip to Bordeaux last fall and all the hype it gets is well deserved. besides some other wonderful Bordeaux wines, we had a 2016 Chateau LaFleur which we drank last week. Thought i'd died and gone to heaven LOL thx
@@grovum That is great to hear! You are right that visiting is such a fantastic way to discover new wines! Always a treat to taste LaFleur! Cheers!
The Torbreck is a steal ! And the Zucardi is a good option for those who want to try a more fruity and not obvious Argentinian Malbec ! Great content as always ! Cheers !
Thanks very much! Cheers!
I had the Viña Ardanza Reserve 2016 and YES IT IS AN EXCELLENT WINE! Thank you for the recommendation going back for more
Thank you! Very glad you enjoyed it. Appreciate you letting me know. Cheers!
Loveeeeee theseeee videos! 🔥
Thanks very much! Greatly appreciate it! Cheers!
I had the 2015 La Rioja Alta Viña Ardanza Reserva and it was absolutely delicious. This wine is often the one I recommend to people who ask “Which wine gives the most bang for your buck”.
Thank you! Very glad you enjoyed it. Completely agree with you! A compelling value for sure!
If you can find 2010 buy it!!! i have 2010 2012 2015 2016 2017. (2012 already coming down so not buy, 2015 good but 2016 are more concentrate and strong so if you like aged your wines buy 2016, 2017 already fantastic)
I recently visited La Rioja Alta winery in Haro, Spain and tasted both 2017 and 2015 vintage of this wine. We were very impressed with the quality. Also highly recommend to book the private dining room for lunch at the winery if time permits if you visit.
@@sharkmok Thanks very much for weighing in! Sounds like you had a fantastic visit! I definitely recommend visiting as well! Cheers!
Thank you!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you!
Assyrtiko is fantastic. When it comes to white wine, that region fits my preferred flavor profile and palette very well. Domaine Sigalas is one I always keep on hand.
Thanks very much! I’ll have to try that producer. Glad you enjoy it too!
Very good vídeo. I already have some wines collected same as the video, diferent vintages obvious because the offer of my suppliers in my area. But to collecting I think not bad. I'll try to achieve Ardanza Reserva and keep in te cellar Concreto Malbec and Psi. Congratulations
Thanks very much! Both excellent wines! Glad you enjoyed the video! 👍🍷
Nice video John. I was not too impressed with the PSI 2018 but have some bottles waiting for a retry.. agree on the Assyrtiko, need to visit Santorini sometime. Cheers, Tim
Glad you enjoy the Assyrtiko too! I saw that Psi has a new winemaker beginning with this 2021 vintage. It has more elegance and finesse than it did before.
try 'Le Puy Cuvee Emilien' or 'Cuvee Barthelemy' you will love it.
Thanks! Appreciate the suggestions!
Ardanza is one of my favourites. I have two bottles left of each of the 2010 and 2012. I did not buy either the 2015 or 2026, although I do have some Contino 2016 and '18, as well as a case of Wine Society Rioja 2018 made by La Rioja Alta.
Thank you! Sounds like you are well stocked!
@@AttorneySomm Duh, 2016 not 2026 - I am not a prophet!
I will take delivery of the Contino '16 and the La Rioja Alta this summer, I think. Rioja is still outstanding value, imho.
@@stevenholt4936 yes, I knew what you meant. Completely agree with you! I’m a big Contino fan too.
80% of the wines of your list I have them in my cellar and drink them regularly ! the other 20% I do not because the are whites and I dont drink any whites whatsoever. Have a great Sunday John.
Thank you! Glad you enjoy them as well! Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
happy to see Greek wine in the mix and hopeful for Georgian wines in the future😅
Thanks! I’ll have to try more of them. 👍🍷
I love the Dog Point😋 I am going to try the others. Thank you
Thank you, Natasha! Very glad to hear it!
Hi John! Our son is turning one soon and in our culture we seal 3 bottles of wine for a few significant events in the future (e.g., turning 18), we like the idea and meaning of it but don’t want to spend too much on it, $40 a bottle sounds about right. Could you please suggest three wines that will still be good after 18-30 years? Thank you so much!
Hello! That is a great idea! Since you have plenty of time, I would probably buy some futures. 2022 and 2023 Bordeaux futures offer great value. I would probably consider Malatrtic Lagraviere, Phelan Segur ($43), and Tour Saint Christophe. 2021 German Riesling would be a good choice if you want some white - Donnhoff.
@@AttorneySommThank you so much, John!! And the future is a creative idea ❤ wish your channel a great success, it really benefits people who are interested in wine but intimidated by the price and options out there!
@@irishuang7246 My pleasure! Very glad the suggestions were useful and very much appreciate the kind words! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thank you!
I try Psi a lot of times and i always find it overrated and 2021 was dissapointed 3 bottles no one good maybe the first years were good but not now for the same price i prefer numanthia (Toro) or if you like Ribera Ausas Interpretacion. Viña Ardanza better option for your bucks.
Thanks for weighing in. Vina Ardanza is featured here too.
@@AttorneySomm Yes i already watch the video :D i don't buy the torbreck because i have the struie there ;) and here are almost the same price. (I find the struie for 46€ when u told me and the Steading are almost the same price now... I love Shiraz 🤤🤤🤤🤤)
@@ivansanchez6202 Thanks! Agreed. Between the two I enjoy Struie more but here it’s 20% more.
👍
Thank you kindly, Cheers!
What a list! Very impressive! I have enjoyed Château Haut-Bailly II more than once and I think I still have one bottle left here. Definitely, Zuccardi is always a fantastic choice. Same goes for Chateau Corbin. As for the others, I haven’t had the pleasure of trying them. So, thank you for making this list and for creating an excellent video to tell us all about it. Such a superbly made video with a tremendous amount of information, insights, and recommendations. Great photos and stellar presentation/delivery as well!
Thanks very much, Margaux! Glad that you have enjoyed some of these wines as well! Hope you are able to try a couple new ones you enjoy too! Cheers!
@@AttorneySomm You’re welcome, John! I really would love to find La Rioja Alta Viña Ardanza Reserva and Dominio de Pingus Psi. Though as you might have guessed or expected, the prices of these wines are so much higher than $40 in my country. But I’ll definitely try to locate the others especially the two that I just mentioned here. Thank you!
@@margauxml Happy shopping! Hopefully there may be a special offer at some point.
@@AttorneySomm Hope so, too! Thank you!
