its called Bracket racing is a form of drag racing that allows for a handicap between predicted elapsed time of the two cars over a standard distance. Both drivers place the times they think they can run before the pass. the tree offsets the start times so both cars/bikes will cross the line at the same time if they both hit the exact dial-in they submitted but reaction time and consistency of the car/bike factor in the times/outcome of the pass. a lot of these races are won or lost by .05sec or less The effect of the bracket racing rules is to place a premium on consistency of performance of the driver and car rather than on raw speed, which in turn makes victory much less dependent on large infusions of money, and more dependent on mechanical and driving skill, such as reaction times, shifting abilities, and ability to control the car. Therefore, bracket racing (using the aforementioned handicapping system) is popular with casual weekend racers. Some will even drive their vehicles to the track, race them, and then simply drive them home. This format allows for a wide variety of cars racing against each other. While traditional drag racing separates cars into a wide variety of classes based on power and weight, bracket racing classes can be simpler, and can accommodate any vehicle with basic technical/safety inspection.
Harley leaves like an hour before the Busa and it’s a shocker.. LOL. HD bikes have no place on a drag strip and these Busa’s were slow as most run in the 8’s with length and bolt ons...

Yeah, I don't understand why they race side by side. Why not just do 4 runs each see who is more consistent and give them the win. You could literally win on a moped, don't have to worry about wheel spin hurting your time then.
Anyone who has bracket raced has seen this kind of stuff before, slower bikes are easier to ride consistently and luck plays a huge role in this kind of racing.... I have lucked out and won a few of these kinds of races.
