- In the world of high performance Harley Davidson motorcycle drag racing a 7 second street tire motorcycle takes a lot of money, know how and talent to build. In this video we take you to the 6th annual Kadafe Bike Fest at Keystone Raceway Park as we see a ton of cool burnouts, drag racing, motorcycle club celebrations, Harleys battle sport bikes, a ZX14R vs GSXR 750 showdown and we answer the question how much does it cost to build a 7 sec Harley Davidson street bike from the world record holder and accomplished motorcycle builder Gregg Dahl from GMS Race Team.

Back in the day. With no gps. The worst thing about racing at Keystone. Was finding the dam place. Then the DUI check points after 12pm coming off the turnpike. Thank God for O'Dools.
I think the success your seeing.. Is because the guy has 170CI on a stretched ProMod chassis Take some weight off the clutch. Lower the rear tire air pressure a half pound.
With those street skids on the Harley’s and a 171ci I can see how they break loose

Back in 1980, I had (the late) Alan Sputhe build me a 78 CI Sporty..XR style...it cost me $4K a good hunk of change...but it was pretty fast, I never race it, but it's easy a 10 second bike..Same type of engine as the cover of August 1980 cycle world...and a bear to kick-start.
It's still fast enough for me, I'm 75...it's even faster than my S&S 93" Knuckle-head sidewinder...that one, maybe 60 horsepower...maybe...
So these big gas engines cost $100K...what about the Nitro motors..?
There’s nothing easy about cracking the tens on a sportster. At least not on a genuine street ridden one. Building power is one thing but getting off the line cleanly is another. Mine regularly runs mid elevens in the quarter and low sevens in the eighth. And I run 91 octane pump gas and get 46 mpg. Street tire, stock wheelbase, foot shift and no wheelie bar. An extended swing arm or a bar seems to always be the answer but to my way of thinking then it’s no longer a true street bike.

Pretty crazy to see a “Belt-Driven” trans is knocking on the 7’s (8.16). Hopefully it doesn’t “eat” ‘em per lap/effort….pretty nice to see regardless…

Just brought a Honda 650 night hawk with only 11000 miles the guy I bought it from drag races a 1100 sabre mine is not a drag bike love the old school bikes

7 second Sporty with no wheelie bar on a street tire and 1 single disc brake up front, but not a 4 piston radial caliper. No sir, it's not even a radial caliper. It appears to be a 2 piston rear axial caliper BUT that's not even the craziest part because it could even be a single piston. I hope he has a good master cylinder lol

They should have a $20K class where you can spend no more than $20K on your bike.

Cycle world determined the 2009 - 2012 XR1200 sportsters the most trouble free best handling harley ever build ..most popular street bikes in japan as is harley davidsons in japan with clubs of members numbering 175,000 all ride harleys ..and the japanese have a manufacture called TRIYJA who takes XR1200 to the next level and sells them back to us as there are established TRIJYA dealship on the west coast selling all harley models by TRIJYA of japan back to americans of three times of stock msrpi.. apparently none of you h-d haters know since 1985 anything about the E.P.A. , the D.O.T. and The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) are U.S. federal vehicle regulations specifying design, construction, performance, and durability requirements for motor vehicles and regulated automobile safety-related components, systems, and design features.
These are federal laws enforced buy the environmental protection agency ,who enforce all contamination and noise pollution, Department of Transportation who enforce all laws of street legal vehicles and the by the FMVSS that enforce the lemon laws ..that all thee agencies since 1985 have put a stop to leaking fluids smoky exhaust and loud mufflers at the factory assembly line level before any vehicles foreign or domestic vehicles can be distributed to any dealership preventing the sales of all cars and motorcycles of todays strict no tolerance federal laws ...all your negative criticism about harleys is totally impossible to have ever happened for the last 38 years that clearly points out the average of your level of intelligence and your generation average I.Q. being one point above a dog ..your major attacks of no performance is based on standard o.e.m. without no mention of Four levels of optional horsepower as harley is the only manufacture of motorcycles in the world who offer any level of higher performance keeping your full two year warranty intact ..and speaking of warranty claims honda brags they sell more motorcycles in the world than anyone with only 15% failure that also applies to federal lemon laws and safety violations are in actual units sold is a number of hondas failed than the number of bikes harley has ever been capable of ever producing in one year ..so is why honda never actual gives any real numbers ..as they will never tell you that you have 250,000 chances to end up buying a total piece of junk ..by the way are all the exports to the U.S.A. as the japanese citizens are sold a much higher quality of all the japanese cars and bikes that very few elite japanese can afford is why they all mostly ride harleys that most people with the I.Q. of there pets dont know and can learn ... And about your generations inability to make change for a $1.00 dollar bill without using a calculator your bunch of Einsteins use the harley CVO prices of one off factory customized harleys per owner list of features plus the much higher price of all the Custom Vehicle Operations the harley sells as optional limited production that only american muscle car manufactures do like SHO, SVO, SVT COYOTE ,VOODOO , COBRA JET LIGHTNING GT40 ,,..COPO ,LS, ZO6 LS-1 STS , SS TRANS AM H.O. / S.D. @@donniebaker5984 wow, what a reply! I admire HD also. There machines are expensive but stunning, with an aftermarket heaven. My electra glide has 152, 000 miles on it. I purchased it with 150, 000, but we ride it anywhere with no concern. All bikes are cool. We must stick together. Especially these days, before we go electric, to pedals. 🙂
