      You should use a Q-tip to pollinate the flowers. You get a q-tip and you get some pollen from one flower and move it to another flower. I did this and I have like 5 little lemons. The first lemon tree we bought two years ago also had flowers but they just fell and the tree died a few months ago. It was from Costco. The new tree is also from Costco and I saw some youtube videos about pollinate and some flowers fell off but we have 5 little lemons. We actually have on old tree but that one is dead but the new lemon tree that we got in March has baby lemons. I add some of the organic Jobe's Organic Granular Fruit and Citrus which I think is mainly chicken manure and that helps too.

    Hi new subbie here! I really enjoyed your video! I just got and planted my first Meyer lemon tree a few days ago! Wish I had seen your video before I planted it into the my container! I used citrus tree fertilizer spikes when I potted it! Now I’m worried that I didn’t give my new baby tree enough beneficial amendments to get the best start! The bees 🐝 are hovering around my tree constantly! I’m in North Texas and will be bringing my tree in when the tempts drop below 40 degrees! You tickled me when you talked about the gangster deer!😂🤣Thanks for the great info!

      I was told not to use spikes on my myrer lemon tree that it could kill it.

    • @LiveItUpLeslie
      @LiveItUpLeslie  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Jerry! don't worry about the spikes for now, but I would go out and get a good fertilizer that works for citrus. I'm having tons of success with Grow More's Hawaiian Bud and Bloom. I use it every 3 months. I also supplement with mild watering of my compost tea. Hope this helps @ Happy growing!

    That citrus tree did not need a bigger pot. It still had root room.. luckily it being summer, the soil might dry out faster. If you have a Facebook consider a group geared towards citrus trees. You are correct about the pollinating. I enjoyed watching the video.

    Hi Leslie, thank you for sharing!! You are so pretty with a nice calming voice!! I just potted up my 5 lemon seedlings that I grew from a store bought lemon!! I know they may not ever bear fruit but I've done this with lemon seeds before and I just LOVE rubbing the leaves just to smell the lemon scent and also the beautiful dark green color of the leaves!! New subbie, have a blessed day and stay safe and well!!🍋🍋🍋💖🤗🙏🏼👩🏻‍🍳

    Hi thanks for the video!
    Did your lemons grow or drop off? I'm having an issue with mine where the tiny green lemons appear then quickly drop before growing any larger. It might be because I havent fertilized prior to blooming but was wondering how you made out with yours...?

    • @LiveItUpLeslie
      @LiveItUpLeslie  3 роки тому +1

      The first thing I'm going to tell you is to NOT fidget with your Meyer Lemon. They really don't like a lot of fuss. Water it weekly, GIVE IT LOTS OF SUN, and worm compost for now. Hope this helps!

  • @zookey93
    @zookey93 4 роки тому

    How often do you water it? I got a Meyer tree too and recently transferred it to a terra cotta pot, I did use regular potting soil and add some citrus fertilizer but after a week the leaves got droopy and began yellowing and began to fall. I know it doesn’t need water because I stuck a wood dowel in and it’s wet when o pull it out. When I saw the leaves dropping I gave more water, so I’m not sure if I over watered it or is not getting enough. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      Hi Mary, I try to let Mother Nature do the job for me, but if we're experiencing a dry spell, then I'll go out and water it-which is about every other day. Especially when it's super hot outside.

    hey i’m growing one from seed, which one do you think is better store bought or from seed?

    • @itsastckup
      @itsastckup 3 роки тому

      You can’t grow Meyer lemon from seed. The seed you plant will be a standard lemon 🍋

    • @Hy-c.
      @Hy-c. 2 роки тому +1

      I would not recommend growing citrus from seed if you want lemons anytime soon. It could be 5-10 years before you get lemons and what you will get will not be the same. Save yourself the time and buy a meyer lemon tree.

    Thanks video is so informative! I have a bit of dilemma tho 😞 so I bought a potted lemon tree from Home Depot. I did have it in the housefly the first 2 weeks after buying it. I would take it outside bout 3 day a week for some sun. Then I notice leaves were slowly falling. So I decided to place it on my porch full time since I’ve watch videos like yours staying outside. Well 3 days after it being outside I noticed the leaves turning brown and some continue to fall. Is it any help left? Is it something I can do to restore it? I haven’t repotted it yet. If you or anyone have any advice please feel free to!!! The tree was expensive so I wanna keep it. Thanks and have a blessed day!!

      Repot you rtree in another container. Larger if need be. Watch my citrus playlist for instructions and follow them to a tea. I also have a video on how to restore a meyer lemon when it lost all of its leaves.

    Hi there. I purchased a improved Meyer's lemon 2 months ago. Its small and already had 2 green fruits on it. It has had a lot of flower blossoms on it but all those small blossom fruit turned yellow and dropped. Can anyone tell me why and what to do? The tree still has the 2 original fruit on it but nothing else. This is very upsetting.

    • @LiveItUpLeslie
      @LiveItUpLeslie  4 роки тому +1

      Not to worry. Citrus has a tendency to self thin itself in order to promote healthy fruit production. Remember not to over fertilize your tree during this time and make sure it gets plenty of sun. HTH!

    I have had my lemon tree for about 4mth and it sprouted 1 green lemon and all the flowers have fallen off. It hasnt produced anymore fruit. And the leaves have fallen off also. I fertilized and side dressed with alaska 5-11 added some magnesium too but no change. I have it in a 30g pot. What have i did wrong

    • @LiveItUpLeslie
      @LiveItUpLeslie  4 роки тому +1

      First, I would LEAVE IT ALONE...let it breathe for a minute and let all that fertilizer wash away. In about 3 weeks, I would give it a good watering with Hawaiian Bud and Bloom by GrowMore. My lemon tree loves this stuff. And then leave it be. I swear the more I leave my tree to do its own thing, the better she's performs. Make sure you have in in direct sunlight. They love the sunlight. Hope this helps and thanks for watching! 😊

      I have the same problem. Bought my Meyer's 2 months ago and it had 2 green fruits on it. It has had a good amount of blossoms bud a fruit but they quickly turned yellow and dropped. Very frustrating. At least the 2 green ones are still on there at this point in time. I hope they don't drop.
