I diagree on grafted trees. I grew a meyer lemon tree from seed. After 3 years it bloomed and gave me 24 lemons!
It does work for some trees like guavas/citrus - or you just got lucky. If you had planted a thousand trees, most of those would not have borne fruit. Moreover fruits from trees grown from seed are never true to their parent. Makes for some interesting fruits though :)
Just acquired a Meyer lemon to grow in a container in my patio. I used to have a Meyer lemon tree at my old house in the ground so this is the first time growing in a container. Love Meyer lemons hoping my new tree does well
Yes I just potted a dwarf Meyer Lemon tree in a pot about 2 months ago and it’s loaded with bloom!! I am so excited. I also have a big lemon tree but it is not big yet. I watch you all of the time. Keep up the good work. Lisa P.
what size is your meyer lemon tree?
What size pot did you use for your lemon tree..
I just bought a dwarf improved Meyer lemon tree from Ace Hardware!! I’ve been watching this video for so long and I finally got one.
My Meyer is budding now with lots of buds! It's in a pot on my balcony and is doing well. Great video ☺️
I just bought a lemon tree, I transplanted it yesterday. It already had 1 lemon on it.
Hopefully it will ripen and not die as other fruit has after I transplanted them have.
Good video.
Hello and while I don't grow the Meyer, I do grow Bearss and the Eureka which is great for cooking, as you said, and juicing, marinades, etc. I too have them in containers, very large containers and doing well. Yes, I prune not annually but at least every few years as well. Great videos.. love all the information you provide.
Thanks. I just got this type of citrus for my birthday. I always like your videos.
Awesome videos! I enjoy them all... they get me excited for the harvest of my own garden and I always learn at least one thing from each of your videos. Keep up the great work!
i like lemon plant & fruits
Thanks for the detailed explanation! I like that you followed the plant through the season so we can see how it progresses.
Glad it was helpful!
very nice video. I always grow everything from seed because I just like seeing how they grow. I drive my husband crazy with all the plants in the house, but it's almost time to move them outside. and the smell of the leaves themselves makes it worth it to me.
Those lemons looked huge, great information 😊
i love ur language and pronountiation and explaining about our gardens
you are one insane agricultural guru brother!
Nice. Now I want to get a Meyer into my Greenhouse! Another great video.

Hello, thank you for your informational video. I really enjoyed it. I have 2 meyer lemon plants that i bought last year. They did produce fruit however they fell off before reaching maturity. Then this year no blooms. I was wondering if you knew what to do to help these plants? Thank you.
Very helpful. ... as always. : )
I have a citrus tree plant in a pot on my porch and it's about 3 years old. I hope it starts producing fruit.

I agree that Meyer
Monster are really great fir lemonade...
Hi. Thanks for this great video. Do you get Leafminers and if so how do you deal with them? They have ruined my two young citrus trees.
Hello , Would you advise to plant fruit trees in Oct . I'm from Houston , and I guess we fall in Zone 9 . I have not been successful with fruit trees till now !! Your suggestions will be quite helpful . Thank you .
thanks for sharing.....
I'm wondering if the fast draining mix needs some modifications for our dry climate. I've been meaning to try it out also.
I am growing a couple of Lisbon lemon trees from seed. One is getting 3 years old and still no lemons. It does take quite a while to produce lemons. I would say I disagree in part of what you said in this video. My lemon trees seem quite hardy and drought resistant. I was away on vacation and one tree flipped over in a strong wind, all the leaves came off from drought, but it came back to life and has many leaves now. I am in Seoul, Republic Of Korea and I have not seen any small lemon trees for sale here. I am guessing that is due to the cold climate. It is really enjoyable growing lemon trees here. I hope I will eventually get a lemon. I enjoyed your video. I repotted one of the lemon trees today. I put banana peels, egg shells and coffee grounds at the bottom of the pot. As the roots grow they will get a treat.
thanks for your vedoe...it helped me decide between eureka vs meyer. i followed your video and potted my first plant ever. Do you recommend a specific fertilizer that i should add? do i need to add both slow release and liquid (every other week with water) ? can i use the miracle gro shake n feed for all plants? since i am a beginner, i m trying to avoid buying too much stuff. thanks for helping, i m in CA 9b zone.
Awesome 🍃🌿☘🌴🌱
Interesting video. I also have this beautiful plant of lemon Meyer. It's in a pot and, when I bought it already had ten juicy lemons. At the moment it is full of beautiful and scented flowers. I don't think all of them will become lemons, reason because every day I find flowers (with or without small lemons inside) on the floor. Is it normal? Season to change the pot for a larger one? Thanks 👍
Thanks for this video, I have a backyard with full sun but the ground is all clay soil so I can't plant any trees in it. I will hopefully be getting a lemon or avocado tree from my local nursery.
I've been growing fruit trees by air layering my neighbours trees 🤭🤭🤭🤭, but none of them have eureka or meyer lemon, so I'll have to purchase those
Hi California Gardening! How often in your zone do you water the dwarf
citrus trees in containers? How long does each water session last? Twice a week for five minutes or twice a week for half an hour for example? Thank you!!
I prune by air layering, then I get practice and small tree gifts.
Actually the leaves are probably turning yellow because the soil is not porous enough. People typically recommend a more easily draining type of soil mix, as citrus trees especially are very picky about soil and very sensitive to root rot. It's very good that as the tree got older you did eventually change the soil to something more sustainable for them even though it can be a bit more work.
I am growing lemon for seeds up to now it is doing ok. Hopefully I will get lemons some day.
I really love your gardening
you should make a new video each day
Hi I wanted to plant an orange tree. Which is better in terms of eating and juicing. Navel or Valencia. Thanks
You might consider adding some microbial charged Biochar to your potting mix. It will hold the nutrients you normally lose when using a fast draining mix.
That and worm castings would be amazing! Many studies dropped since you've made your comment where they studied it (biochar) and proved what an amazing increase of nutrient retention and aggregate formations it gives!!! Way to be ahead of your time friend!!!
Nice Video.
Gret tree and nicely presented sir👌👏
Kindly help in sharing a link to buy Dwarf Meyer Lemon from India as here this variety is not available in regular nurseries.
I live just south of the Canadia boarder...I have about 5.5 months of outdoor growing time. Will they be okay with just 6.5 months of 6 hr sunlight time?
I'm so late this year cos it's too cold I love the way you grow I'm still learning
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can I start the lemon growth in the pot it arrived in or do I need to repot
Was it deficient in iron? :) leaves are yellow and green viens i was told Magnesium defiantly come from yellowing inside the leaf then out
How about using palm and cactus soil mix for good drain?
Hi, I watched your video it is very interesting, I do have one meyor lemon in pot and it is producing fruit,, can I change it in a bigger pot,
Just got mine yesterday, I wonder if I could keep it in the container that I got from home depot? it is a plastic container, color yellow to match the Meyer lemon color, 10 inch diameter and 10 inch height. Maybe for this year, and next year I can transplant

Could you also make videos about gardening with flowers?

You are an inspiration for us to start gardening, growing fruit trees!! Can you please guide us on fruit thinning? The tree blooms heavily but isn’t as big to hold up that much fruit. What are the bud/baby fruit thinning techniques? Thanks!
Thanks! I have covered pruning here: ua-cam.com/video/aMP_71rxzoQ/v-deo.html and briefly here: ua-cam.com/video/sTBOjPxix5c/v-deo.html - Hope that helps!

Hello 👋. Which fertilizer you use? I brought this lemon tree from Home Depot a couple weeks ago but I don’t know which fertilizer i should use.
i have meyer lemon plant, it produces lots of lemon. but why it took a long time to ripe a lemon.
I bought my non GMO Meyer Lemon tree from Costco for $23.
It's a Standard tree and not a Dwarf tree. It is bearing lot's of fruit after I transferred it to a 15gal container. I've had it for 18 months
So, I got a meyer lemon and kumquat tree. The problem is i put it in a bigger container and looks like the roots did not get any moisture. I have replanted them into smaller container now. Do you think it will survive. The root system had drastically reduced, but it was not rotten. Do i have a chance ? . I gave it a dose of vit b12 after repotting to avoid replanting shock. Please advice.
I have had my tree for 3 years. Every winter I bring it in and use plant lights. This summer 2021 the lemons are growing large and wild.
When do they turn yellow??
I like growing
Is it possible to plant a semi-dwarf Mexican Key lime in a container? I live in Irvine, CA. Thanks for your help.
I’ve had my Myers lemon tree for ten years. I’ve had many lemons in the past, but the last two seasons I haven’t had any buds on it. It looks very healthy and green. Any idea of what could be going on?
I think you need to make a good pruning of your lemon plant an put some good fertilizer.
I live in desert in California. can lemon grow in this area?
I juice mine and freeze the juice for use in summer
Thanks for your nice and informative video. I have one mayer lemon small tree with single stem and 120 cm hight. How can I prune it and when to make branches?
Prune either after fruit production in winter or early spring when there is new growth. There is no right or wrong way to prune, just give it the shape you want!
I saw a 1-gallon meyer lemon tree in Homedepot. Will this size tree bloom in the first year?
Hi there .. I have a question: I just got a 12 inch tall mayer lemon 🍋 tree from home depot .. can I put it in a 10 by 10 inches pot ?? Do you think it will survive?? The summer
I believe the main thing about growing from seed is not cultivation fruit but, teach those learning, good thing come to tho who are patient.
And nature rewards you with nourishment.
Can we grow this lemon in New York & can I plant it outside in ground
any pruning video on your lemon tree?
We have had ours for four years now and have yet to see a lemon. The tree looks very healthy and it will bloom, but the blooms just fall off shortly after they form. It's disheartening. We really want some lemons. Thank you for the video!
can this lemon tree be planted in the ground too. does this tree need fertilizing at first to planting?
What size pot would you recommend ?
whats the disadvantage starting this plant from seed? You said it wouldn't grow well, but im not sure why
is it possible to move a dwarf tree from the ground to a container?
