He broke every one of Ben Mendelsons' rules lol
"Dont tell him about me" this line still breaks me
I mean if his step dads black his moms Puerto Rican and he’s pinker thanks my azz obviously the kids gonna have probs to begin with regardless lol
And she kept her word his whole life. Everytime he asked she prolly thought of that phonecall
Even in his failure and death, he was looking out for his son.
@@KMcNally117Could’ve looked out for him better by being there.
@@jrob4795you didn't pay enough attention to the movie, or you watched it with a biased opinion to begin wt
His high pitch voice makes this scene authentic. Anybody involved in this type of crime would have the very same tone 😆. Heart rate super jacked and having a tough time forming coherent sentences 😆. One of RG best performances
He was jacked. Jacked to the tits.
He even throws up in the back of the truck after doing it the first time because of the all the adrenaline, great touch
Forgetting the sunglasses making him even more anxiety ridden 😅 This and The Town's bank robbery scenes are according to an actual robber very close to a real one
I can confirm this 😂
I can to many banks under my belt and there is always one that just goes so wrong
He didn't have his bike, he didn't have his sunglasses, and he didn't case the bank before robbing it. He got so addicted to the rush that he broke his own rules.
That shit is real tho. How most career criminals go down. They get sloppy or their luck runs out or both.
I gotta see this film. Only caught a couple of clips so far but the performances and story feel authentic AF. No glamour, no quirky super villains. Just normal people with normal dreams pushed to the extreme by this meat grinder of a world. Heavy
@@dickstryker Well worth watching. It's an underrated film.
Yeah.....this is what killed my step dad in prison. RIP.
Having the meltdown with his family just before lead to the laziness too though I reckon. Like losing his shit and hitting the stepdad. Otherwise he would have been more clear headed
Yea and the bike he bought was a shitheap. Nothing compared to the one he had that the other guy broke down.
Very underrated movie.
Masterpiece of a film, this and Drive are two of my favorite Ryan Gosling movies, Drive is a masterpiece too
I remember seeing this in theaters because i haven't missed a Ryan Movie and i couldn't believe he did this, Drive and Blue Valentine so close together and how amazing they all were. Especially since Ryan is so ridiculously funny. Hes an underrated actor. I hated that he only got to be in act one. But look at Cooper!! He was like a baby in this movie!!
how is he 'underrated'? his films have grossed $2B and he has two academy award noms.
he shriek like screams make me giggle so much. such a good movie tho and ryan is amazing
His shriek like screams are amusing, but also very realistic. I could feel the panic!
Props to Gosling!
This is truly a masterpiece of a movie
Great, emotional, quiet film.
Criminally underrated film
this is like the total opposite of Drive where he's always in control & able to lose the cops, etc.* they're on him the entire way
love how the bike turns into a 2 stroke once he get's running away
Hollywood literally never uses the real engine sounds from motorcycles, its maddening
so sad, it's not hard at all to just know what the DRZ 400 is, they had to have chosen it so just use that sound lol@@theninja001
Xr 4 stroke Honda definitely doesn’t sound like that
This is a very intense scene from one of the most underrated movies ever.
Should've turned around when he realized he didn't have the glasses! Bad omen, so to speak.
He should’ve gone back to get his glasses
I think him showing up at all gave himself away because cameras would have caught him and they were still investigating previous robberies that used the same tactics, so they would have tracked him down eventually. I think he knew that and wanted to atleast have something to take away if he already exposed himself.
Yes. Seeing his son find them later in the movie, was an incredibly moving scene.
I remember thinking that he was going to have one of those dye packs explode on him, when I watched this for the first time. This movie is the type of movie that makes me wish I could watch it for the first time, all over again. Amazing.
Dude that me right now!!! I'm watching the fucking spoilers!!! 😂😂😂
The immediate police response time to that bank robbery had to set some kind of record.
I'd imagine the alarm goes off almost immediately and once in a blue moon a cop is pretty close to the bank
If the woman behind the counter threw the bag over the first time he would have been gone.
I'm not sayin' they weren't there, I'm sayin' they WERE there, but they didn't make their presence known until Mr. Blonde started shooting up the place...
I think given the fact he robbed multiple banks within a short space of time gave them reason to be on high alert and have troopers near other banks. That was my assumption, especially considering his partner refuses to do another with him cos its too hot and too much attention. He broke his own rules.
@@BackwoodsFilmsgotta find out who the rat is ahaha
The chase scene makes my hands sweat so much
Went to see this in cinema. This whole sequence was super gripping when seeing it the first time. Everything going wrong, forgetting the sunglasses, cannot throw the bag, motorcycle almost doesn't start, cops are there immidiatelly, get's a flat tire from having to free-solo the route, being shot in the head. Yeah didn't go as smoothly as the first one where he rides into the van.
Its crazy, all of the street names that they said are real street names in Schenectady. I know that they shot the movie there but it's cool seeing them use the real street names, during the chase.
i laughed so hard everytime when his voice cracks up while yelling LOL
Top 5 favourite movies for sure
he forgor sunglasses 💀
Oh man
Oh no
3:28 this still makes me laugh 😂
I’m literally Ryan Gosling And Luke Glanton
Probably the saddest thing he could’ve asked
I love and hate that he asked that like it’s so dramatic and unnecessary but necessary lmao
This is why you leave the bike runnning
He said as all kinda fucked up,he had the kill switch on and had it neutral
Bro really a good actor 💯
Their response time would be about 27x longer.... Not even exaggerating. The realist know what I'm talkin about.
That depends on the country take Scotland for example police response to armed robberies is anywhere between 10 mins to half an hour but if you call someone the wrong gender your lynched on the spot and sent to do a 10 stretch for insulting someones feelings a bookies in my town got robbed at gunpoint and it took an hour just for officers to respond 😂
@@Johno1992 me when I lie
@@Johno1992 you sound emotional mate
Depends where youre at
Have you gotten away with a lot of bak robberies?
I hope they do a prequel movie about Luke
First rule of a bank job, never bring a shitty bike to the job.
The cementary wall went pretty well 🤓
He is literally me.
Those cops were too fast. He definitely needed a driver on a Chevy Impala
one who drives
I'm not crying, you're crying
💔
gets to the bank with a 4stroke and leaves with a 2 stroke.
the first third was great, the last third was just annoying, the kids just pissed me off
can someone please explain me what's the problem with the opening hours? did he think that they would have opened later than 9 AM ? implying that he started too late, maybe around 10 AM ? I don't get it
REISSUE THE BLU-RAY!
God I've always wanted that Honda xr650
drz 400 was better
This is based on a true story.
How did he get a flat tire?
If you're heading south and you make a left you're heading east.......
If bro wasn't on a moto he probably could've outran them.
how? motos beat cars and he did go on foot anyway
No way cooper goes in the house without backup
If he only had his bike 🏍️…. 🤦♂️
when did he get the flat tire ???
maybe the cemetery or he always had it and didnt notice since he got sloppy
My guess is that he didn't do any maintenance or mechanical checks on the bike when he bought it and it just happened. The other potential is that his mentor sabotaged the tire so that he would get caught by himself. You can put a hole in a tire in a way that it will slowly leak so you won't notice it right away.
he was just thrown off by realizing he forgot to bring his glasses, everything went downhill from there, also he forgot he had the killswitch on which is why he couldnt start his bike@@buggzo
okay, i went and watched the movie again. YOU CAN STOP RECOMMENDING THE CLIPS NOW!
Is that cop bradley cooper?
Yes.
Fun Fact: The crash into the barricade was not scripted. The stuntman who rode the bike during the whole chase scene couldn't slow down in time and hit it and they kept it in the film.
Every body get the fuck on the floor
He went from this...to Ken. Wtf
Seriously. Is there not ONE person in Hollywood who understands what motorcycles actually SOUND LIKE??!?!? He starts a four stroke, rides off on it, then as soon as the cops arrive, he's suddenly riding a two stroke!. Such STUPID simple to catch mistakes!!! Nothing ruins a scene for me like this kind of stupidity. Tires squealing on wet grass kinda dumb.
You should say the character's name instead
Hmmm.... 2-stroke moto being driven by a highly skilled rider v. old school crown vic with 250hp. Moto would have won 100% of the time, with ease. Other than that, a thrilling chase scene.
Not 100% of the time. Mistakes happens you know
Even with the flat?
@@SKAMGOD Yeah, you're right. Didn't realize that the first time.
They’re actually driving the Chevy Caprice. Which potentially bolsters your point if they’re rocking the LT1 as those were faster than the succeeding Crown Vic’s.
That woman needs to work on her upper body strength ;)
first com!
3:28, doesn't matter if an invasioin force of 1000's is coming down the street, sirens blazing, trumpets thundering, one person will always back out in front of you...just so the plotline can continue.
True, this is some loathsome Hollywood bs
He could've been trying to help the cop u know. Irl ppl do that too
I know Bradley Cooper’s character is supposed to be the “big hero”, but I hated him in this movie, and watching this scene again, knowing what’s coming, I hate him even more now
the first half was ok then it just fell apart for me it got dried and boring!
@4:16 what is that little wall tap for?
When a cop farts, they touch a wall for good luck. He farted.
Cops are always touching surfaces so that their prints are there in case they disappear.
Cops leave their fingerprints at the crime scene so they can tie themselves to the location if anything happens
@@jonathanbirch2022 I knew they did that on cars but I figured it be hard to on that material.thabks for the reminder/info though
No glasses and he goes in with face tats visible? Bro got sloppy.
awful, truly awful screenplay/sequence here... laughable almost.
terrible camerawork during the chase
Was supposed to be shot as it would be a chase… you think these guys got full HD of the pantys you wearing you fruit cup while pursuing criminals?
that is the thing bro
I disagree completely
Camera work is deadly af
It's like that to make it realistic
WOODS FIND SOME WOODS TRAILS ECT
So, you rob banks and rides the same bike at a fair/carnival and no one noticed?!?! Bullshit
