Thank you very much!
If you ride like lighting, you're going to crash like thunder
That line was improvised on the spot by that actor they said which set the tone perfectly for the movie
I like how Luke’s Metallica shirt fits into the narrative.
Gonna*
Blade Runner 2049, Drive, First Man, La La Land, Only God Forgives and this movie.
It seems Ryan Gosling just can't play movies with bad cinematography...
And song to song 👍
And Lost River.
and blue valentine
And Half Nelson
Gangster squad is the only exception
1:10 is my favourite scene, the red stop light on his face then it goes green for go when he gets the idea too rob the bank, great scene.
Genius cinematography
I never noticed that, thank you for point it out:)
@@MM-hi it’s the little things that matter
Technically it's when he decides to go ahead with the idea of robbing the bank (hence green means go). Robin had suggested it just moments before the scene at the red light
I absolutely adore this movie. My family and friends hated this movie with a passion after I showed them. I now no longer have friends or family but this movie still has a place in my heart
potato is life they sound lame anyway
Swear everyone hates it and it pisses me off
True Art Trumps Everything
"I didn't like this movie, son. Therefore, you are hereby excommunicated from this household."
why tho
I wish the whole film revolved around Goslings character
TomMarvelo kinda
That’s the point. It isn’t just about him. Life moves on and his decisions had consequences. In other movies he would have made it out and had been a good guy. But he got shot and his life was done.
Y’all really miss the point of what he said. He meant he wished Ryan’s character was in the movie for a longer period of time, like doing what he did and actually remaining alive for a longer period of time.
It did though.
It did and that's why it was so good
The last shot of the old man watching the young man ride off with his motorcycle is just so poetic. A man watching his youth ride away. I absolutely loved this movie
If you compare the first scene to the last, you notice how they chose two different paths. Luke was riding his bike in a cage signifying how he is tied up in his life and Jason is riding far into the distance escaping into “the place beyond the pines.” Beautiful film one of my favorites ever
@@maxmorris966 really good observation
@@maxmorris966 Love that you saw this, awesome observation 🙌
I also love how luke uses dirtbike which is aggressive and then his son uses more calm tour bike.. i find that symbolizes the difference of two state of mind
Whats the Movie called? :)
I'm still his father. I can buy him things.
There's nothing worse than taking a man's right to cherish his children
20DollarPonyDLC Not when the man is not legally capable of doing it. Or is he really right? Well, this kinda heart touching ambiguities are what makes this so special.
@@tejussonics2323 Personally, I didn’t think him seeing his son would do his kid more wrong than the alternative.
@@Handgun777 Exactly, and by the end we see they are very alike. In my opinion he did his due diligence as a man, and his son cherished that.
:(
Luke's redemption came right before he was shot to death. Luke last words was to ask his ex, not to tell their son about him. . . All he wanted to leave a legacy to his son but in the end he realized that he wasn't a good person and he didn't wanted his son to follow the same path he did.
I'm so hoping there will be a sequel, where the 2 son's lives entertwine later in life, and we have cameos of the other actors.
@@candicebowden4123 You don't want a sequel, the story is told. The song is sung. It couldn't have ended more fittingly. We don't need to know more. That's just how I feel.
Fantastic performance by Ryan Gosling in this one.
@Wiliam Forsythe
Who hurt you?
This sound track is musical equivalent of feeling nostalgic.
This film hits home as it reminds me of my dad. My dad died when I was 6. Growing up I remember I love motorcycle and yea of course he rides em. Or how I smoke bcus it reminds me of his smell too, it felt more like a comfort. Now I'm 18, going to get my my driving test... I'd like to imagine someday when I'm riding, hes beside me riding too
How did everything go buddy?
My eyes are waterfall right now 🌊💧💦
Man the smoking thing got to me i never seen much of my old man as he was alwaus being deployed overseas the Falklands and ireland being 2 conflicts he served in and even when he was home he wasnt there i ended up picking up his drinking and smoking habbits i cannot smell brandie or golden Virginia without being transported back to being a kid helping him mend a fence this movie legit put me off kids for such a long time as i was scared i was gonna become like my dad and make the same mistakes he did I'm now in my 30s while all my friends have settled down or had kids that and ive seen enough baby mum drama thank you 😂
Favourite movie of all time, such an underrated piece of art.
I feel like only a very special kind of people are truly capable to understand this movie in the way how it's meant to be understood.
Tijmen Vrijburg 2 dads one a high end lawyer for the police force and ones dad who was a low life criminal bank robber. Both their kids ended up in the same place, druggies, no friends, etc. it makes you realize that having a good father is important to child development, whether hes a bank robber or a cop
And its about consequences, some things we do will leave a mark. Sometimes so much that it will affect our Kids and i Can see that in my family.
@@platinumpineapple9943 it’s can also b taken as, in reality learning to become a father very fast which results in robbing banks to get $ for his child. and the other side the police dude thinks he murdered some low life criminal and come to find out that we all have families. his heart was in the right place but his mind wasnt
@@Famonn yea he shouldnt have shot him he wasnt pointing his gun at him
it kinda stuck to me since I grew up without a father
Its amazing to see this movie is still getting recognized by how amazing it is .. my favorite movie of all time.
I love this movie too! What makes it even more special for me is that they literally filmed this movie where I was born and raised. The scene where the kid steals pills from the pharmacy, my dad used to work there! Also watching him ride down the streets that I see every single day of my life. Gives me chills every time.
I don't know what, but this movie did something to me. I haven't been the same person ever since.
That’s what the best films do
Literally me
Mike Patton score is what fills those scenes with atmosphere.
JM Dylan the lead singer for Faith No More?
@@metalmanny666 yeah he does film scores as well.
@@benjadamon Jesus Christ. How does he find the time in the day. Btw he got interviewed by Eric Andre recently.
@@metalmanny666 yeah, I saw that actually! Mike is class.
@@benjadamon dude he’s so fucken handsome too. Very symmetrical face.
This is by far one of the best movies I have seen. The roller coster of emotions, this movie had was tremendous, so realistic.
What I admired in this movies was the fact that the main characters, though seemingly different, as one is an outlaw and the other is a law abiding citizen who is in the police academy, share more things in common than I first imagined. Both at some point did not follow the law, but their motives where strikingly different. What shows is that somebody who seems like an outlaw has a more founding and emotional reason to steal, while the other, a seemingly perfect citizen, who is considered a hero for his services, bends the law in a way to help his fame/career-driven choices.
Without a doubt the most beautiful film I personally have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I wish everyone knew of its existence.
This movie totally slipped through the cracks in packed movie year like 2013.
I think in like 30 years it'll be known as one of the greatest films of all time.
It’s up to us to spread the word
Snow angel- mike patton... I listen to this almost everyday. Calms and relaxes me cause im a recovering alcoholic... Lol truth!
I really really hope your better now
Amazing track. Keep on, brother 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Saw this movie on fathers day. This movie is hauntingly beautiful and underrated. Some of the scenes in the movie made me feel so empty that i literally sobbed for a while. This is one of the best movies i have watched and i wonder why nobody talks about this gem of a movie.
The theme of this movie is so beautiful and so haunting at the same time, the movie is an absolute masterpiece
Watching Ryan on his 650 Suzuki is what got me into duel sport motocross bikes 🖤
then you should know it’s not a 650
Just watched for this first time . Amazing film . One of the best I’ve ever seen
This is me right now
i cant hear the opening song without tearing up. was probably one of the best movies my x and i watched together when we were in love
This is the most powerful movie I’ve ever watched. I can’t quite put it into words, but it left me speechless for almost an hour after I watched it. I gained a new perspective. It’s one of my favorite movies ever already, arguably my favorite at times. I recommend it to pretty much everyone I meet now
My first time watching it rn. The ending made me cry my eyes out how I grew up with no dad, and at 20 ended up in prison. This movie made me think how if I had a better father figure in my life, maybe my life would of turned out differently. Great movie.
The sad thing is this movie isn’t nearly as popular as it should be. Imo this should be getting the recognition Drive does, I love both but I honestly think this might edge it to me. It’s such a powerful story about fatherhood, escaping from your fathers sins, dealing with the consequences of choices, and fate tied so neatly into one movie that was way more impactful than I ever thought it would be. I fucking love cinema because of films like this
When Handsome Luke tapped out, I tapped out. One of my favorite movie characters though, I rewatch the first half often. And the music is incredible. Amazing movie.
Rest of the film is fucking amazing as well imo.
Yeah I didn't finish it either fuck that
@@gandalf7345 You're a fool for missing out then.
Some two years ago, I happened to watch a random edit of this movie on UA-cam ..with this same snow angel music..it was just a minute long really ...
but the music and the scenes stayed with me ..long after I'd watched it ..and i realised i had to watch it
I'm glad i did ..one of my fav movies since ..
This ost is one of the best i have ever heard.. truly a masterpiece
This movie is so good, watching this video brought a tear to my eye. One of the most real experiences one could have watching a film, it felt like you were truly entering people’s lives.
I shed a tear, I love this movie 😢💙
Lisa Bopf I love you too babe.
This movie is so unique and underrated. I've never seen anything quite similar.
All the best memories are hers...❤
Well done.
To me the best scene in this movie is "Ryan Gosling waiting with his dirt bike in the parking lot"❤️
I love this film so much
One of my favourite movies.
One of the best movies ever created!
Yo I love this idea of finding the beauty in films. I've always had a natural draw to cinematography and the beautiful things that movies can show you.
this is one of the best movies ever made.
I absolutely LOVE this masterpiece of a film. And that score ❤🤌🏻
Beautiful Tribute ... Sensitive ... No words ... Music & You want to be with them ... 1 ... 2 ... 3 ... " Act Nathalie ... " 🌍
Just watched this movie
What is this strange feeling?
I'm so confused
I feel like crying but it's peaceful too
I just realized not a single word has to been said....
I love this movie. I live in Schenectady , NY where the film is based. I still get chills watching certain scenes and hearing the score. Thank you for making this.
is it a good city ?
i appreciate the effort, to sync the cuts with the music, it's perfect
This really is the best movie I’ve ever seen . Every time I see it I tear up or cry .
Mike Patton - The Snow Angel is such a beautiful piece of music
One of my favorite tracks from any film score I’ve ever listened to
So simple too, I feel that sometimes all you need is the simplest notes in a melody and it brings so much emotion to what is already on screen. Mike Patton certainly achieved that notion
This movie is so grounded it hurts to watch. Very relatable all around film
Oh you got something with this, dope. Please do DRIVE if you haven't been already.
Great video, absolutely love this channel
Thank you so much...
Finally got to see this movie last night. Wow, amazing. Beautiful looking movie as well!
Thank you! Probably my favourite film and one of my favourite Gosling performances.
One of the most underrated movies of the last decade imo
I absolutely love this movie it really shows the reality of the main characters Luke is a father who wants to support and give his kid everything he needs and wants Avery kills Luke but regrets it his whole life as far as keeping a picture of Luke’s family in his wallet and Jason is conflicted about his fathers past after his mother and step father never told him the truth which causes Jason to go out into the world on his own to find his purpose overall the film is absolutely fucking amazing I really enjoy every actors performance and the tone of the film is just brilliant
The most underrated film I've seen, like holy shit I just love it
i just finished watching this movie for the first time and im blown away
Do the beauty Of sicario (2015) that movie is incredible
It's coming!
Ooooh man, i like this movie so much. Such a great shots!
This film made me feel a kind of pain I never knew I could feel
This movie is so good, and sad at the same time!
Esse filme me fez refletir muito como pai e marido ❤️
Filme muito foda
The beauty of Ryan Gosling
Always a treat to find the movies and the music I like on your channel ☺
Que gran canal y gran proyecto, en verdad el cine nos regala demasiada belleza y es por eso que amamos el cine, sigue subiendo mas videos y suerte
this movie was refreshing and I could relate in regards to the poverty.. thanks.
Am i the only one who thought at 1:39 for the first time, that Luke was in the bed? I think it was made like that on purpose, like Luke lived trough his son
I love this film, thanks for the video!! ❤️
Yeah this one hits home, i haven't seen my 4 year old daughter in 3.5 years. I did some regrettable things, gave up on the legal system and now just travel by myself surfing the world.
this movie was filmed in my city and its such an amazing film
Peaceful... Relaxing.....
This MOVIE IS A MASTERPIECE, Ryan Gosling is so UNDERRATED ❤
Great movie, and the soundtrack Its Perfect 😢👌🏼
Simple, and beautiful
A real masterpiece !
Thank you so fucking much for making these
Love this
This was one of the best roles Ryan Gosling ever played you're calling him back one of the most underrated and the beat it is one of the deepest beats without words I haven't heard in there with Clair de Luna
Esto es hermoso y el soundtrack lo hace aún mas.
Masterpiece.
a masterpiece
You touched my neck, I held the key,
Above the bed, just you and me,
The morning light, stretched out haze,
Beyond the night and ragged days,
We lay together, in tired sheets
Outstretched arms, car backseats,
Night swimming in the lake,
Surfacing.
I am awake…….
STUNNING. Thank you very much for this awesome video. Now (The King Of Comedy) it will be great. Keep up the good work
I will! But not yet yet😂
@@TheBeautyOf Before the king of comedy, do (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), I just finish watchin it. What a great movie with an awesome cinematography, it was nominated for the best picture 2018. Please do this video. I am sure it will brings a lot of views
Yours is unconventional art.. keep doing brother
Magic! Merci🙏🏼
beautiful
A beautiful film
film spettacolare, la canzone mette una nostalgia assurda. L'ho scoperto da poco, adesso sto guardando tutti i film di Goslings, grande Attore
The masculine urge to be the father you always wanted your father to be with you.
Love this film made me sad when Ryan died I felt for the characters 10/10
great job
Underrated hidden gems
Masterpiece
мелодия грустная,фильм хороший! Со смыслом!
That final shot. Pure sad.
The Beauty Of The Prestige
Thank You
Really enjoyed the film and this video. Still waiting for the sequel *Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place Beyond the Pines*
ce film me prend au ventre, c'est pas mon histoire a cent pour cent , mais étrangement sur certaines choses...
je m'y retrouve tellement...
Incontestablement un film culte.
"du moins a mes yeux".
Ryan's unexpected demise in the movie is the top out-of-nowhere WTF moments in movie history.
