Dabo has not proven capable of replacing the numerous longstanding assistant coaches who’ve departed the last several years. Saban has done this repeatedly.

Honestly, losing Brent Venables hasn't seemed that big of a loss for them surprisingly. Their Defense has remained stout even after his departure.
Their Offense though, is just not good.

Saban can get whoever he wants and so can Dabo. It has nothing to do with coaching. It does however have everything to do with recruiting and his refusal to use the transfer portal.

Say what you want about Dabo he’s got one of the best resumes of any coach ever and doesn’t need to be told how to run his program. People who want to complain and give advice need to think about where this program was before Dabo got the job and appreciate the massive amount of success he’s had that will never be duplicated at clemson again.

The honey hole dried up for Bama and Clemson once Kirby started recruiting all their players 😂. No one talks about that. 7 seasons in, Clemson isn't even Top 50, and Alabama is struggling just to stay in the Top 10. "Bama recruited the No. 1 class last year there bud." And this is true, that doesn't take away from the fact 75% of the guys Georgia landed were also on Saban's wish list, it definitely has had an effect over time.

Dabo was close to getting fired years ago. Tajh Boyd had success and they won the ACC for the first time in a long time. Went to the orange bowl and things started rolling for Clemson. It has to be said in College Football the QB play is huge. They had 2 Amazing Quarterbacks in Watson and Lawrence to build excellent teams around. Those 2 guys were the Real Deal. Dabo can right the ship if they give him another year. He can recruit well and before him Clemson was an average team. Not a Clemson fan but a huge fan of college football.

as much as Dabo can be a tad "much", the man has won at least 10 games for 12 years, 2 national championships, 8 conference championships, etc. His biggest mistake is not getting with the program of incorporating transfers and NIL dealings. It's the state of college football. Even last year during a "down year", he won 10 games. Before DAbo, Clemson was a run of the mill program. Aside from Bama and Georgia, they have been the most successful program in the last 10 years. I think we need to see Clemson be mediocre for another season or 2 for us to confidently say that Clemson is "done". This is coming fro a UM fan btw lol.

Good point. One other thing is that the receivers these past 3 years cannot get separation, and the deep ball threat like we had in the Sammy Watkins/Nuk Hopkins/Mike Williams/Tee Higgins days is gone. Defensive backs just tighten up on coverage, taking away the screen pass and closing the gaps for the running game. This will not change until they get another star receiver(s).

Seeing this for the first time after the Notre Dame game. It’s just kind of funny how the world has. Dabo put, It is against him and that’s what fuels his fire. Paul Finebaum of all people should be the last person to speak about college football. But it’s funny to see these two guys and all of the college game day laugh at Clemson‘s Failure this year. They’ve always wanted Dabo and Clemson to fail because they saw him as a threat. Dabo reign at Clemson is far from Over, but he’s also far from being left and mediocrity. Some changes definitely have to be made and of course he will do it just slower than the rest of the sport. All of you are wrong.
There is a near day coming where the nil/portal will cash itself out. "O" did not do it on money and Dabo will not do it. Does this drive a team into the ground? No it does not. "Collective interests" on the cash buy-outs to get a 4-star and a 5-star player will do that. They do it by playing the numbers game on paper. THAT is not coaching. THAT is money. Good academics? Sure, but I can get that in any of the top 100 schools in NCAA Division 1.
The hardline coaches that can take a 1-2 star and mold that player to a Natty is a "Coach."
Everyone else, Saban included, better hope that the collectively interested deep pockets don't, here soon, run deeper than UCLA, USC, Notre Dame, Stanford, Ohio State, Michigan and a few more.
FSU is not going to keep it for long. Go 10 feet in any direction from Tallahassee, Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge and even College Station and what do have? A frigging oak tree. Boca Raton and Sunset Bar & Grill along with Muscle Beach will out sale those camouflage pockets. It is coming.
The U.S. Supreme Court should never have made the decision it made on this subject matter.
When the NIL/Portal rebuilds your team you are no longer a coach.

making college players free to seek out huge financial gains and forget about team loyalty will erode the quality of entertainment and I also wouldn't be surprised to see coaches leave due to total chaos it creates toward keeping their program together. Clearly it will erode team morale to see some players making enormous salaries while others simply have a scholarship (which in my day, was a big deal)
You spend all this time over four years wining and dining a recruit to sign them only to have them as soon as they think they aren't getting the playing time they want, putting themselves on the open market
First you had the NCAA change the rules of the game to get a bunch of timeouts in, then you remove the sitting out for a year when you decide to go somewhere else and now you turn the sport into a new form of prostitution where greed is behind all decisions
I have trouble sitting thru the games cause of all the time outs constantly putting the volume on mute for the 10 in a row commercials they subject me to

Coaching when I came up was likelu in the low hundred thousands whereas now offensive coordinators can make multi-- million dollar occasions. It's invaded coaches too and that's why I can see the "getting yours" and splitting. Loyalty everywhere had been undermined and encouraged by actions meant to remove it's existence. Coaches are doing it too What I like abot Kirby is I believe he undestands that greatest and great football schools are fostered by great coaches not by if you are a coach feeling the need to go to an Alabama to attain it It's what Bear Bryan did, John Wooden, Michael Jordon and made where they went,"great" where no greatness was before@@louiserwin3726

They were down for a decade or so after Jameis Winston and company. But now they are back. FSU is king and always will be king of the ACC in totality.

People still harping on the portal while the past three years, no dedicated QB coach = bad QB play, no dedicated special teams coach = missed kicks, hiring an OLine coach with 0 experience = a line that looks absolutely lost out there, same at wr. Grish is an amazing recruiter but as a wideout coach it's been tough so far, so many drops. Add that all together, you get 4-4. Dabo will make substantial change after this season I guarantee that, in 2010 he sounded the exact same it's wild.

I share the same sentiment as the great Dabo concerning the transfer portal & NIL. They are destroying " college football ". Collebe football is now becoming Semi-Pro football. College football is indeed now a business. The teams that win championships in college football now no longer win by recruiting and developing young players into intelligent graduates and citizens. They will win by buying their championships. So how many championship trophies will your team buy ? It's now all about money $$$$$$$$$$ and Bone deep Greed !

Every team now loses players to the portal,so you have to go into the portal at times to replace them. Kirby is similar to Dabo about getting players from the portal. He says that you have to be careful not to bring disgruntled players who can mess up the chemistry of your team. That's why you have to carefully bet these transfers. UGA brought in two receivers this pass off-season but they had recruited those guys while they were still in high school, so they knew who they were dealing with.

Finebaum is an idiot paid for by the SEC network and his hatred for Dabo is ridiculous. Dabo isn't perfect. He's human but he seems to be a legitimately nice guy unlike most college coaches and his way of doing things has been successful. Does he need to adapt? Of course. He needs to rethink his postion on the portal. And what isnt being said is that if it weren't for turnovers and poor kicking, this year would look differently. You are trying to take away from what he's done. Saying you aren't doesn't make it true. The defense is still good. The offense needs to change. I like Saban but get off his coat tails Paul
