Yes, I noticed that too. Elle may be blonde, but she's not THAT blonde. Because she eventually realises she can do better- in life and love.

I used to think that this movie was so cheesy and just another chick flick as a kid. Now that I'm an adult I can understand and appreciate what the movie was trying to convey that kid me didn't have experience with.

I like how Vivian and Elle became good friends at the end. They could have been excellent friends if Warner wasn’t part of the picture.
I wish Vivian had been in the second movie, she could have helped Elle with getting her bill passed

I remember my senior year watching the movie in social studies. The purpose of watching Elle Woods was a lesson in self confidence. We all could can use these lessons of life right now during this difficult time.

Vivian and Professor Stromwell added so much depth to Elle’s character that sadly some people will just not understand.
I love that they didn't make Vivian the stereotype love rival and instead had her Elle learn to work and get along with each other to the point they both dumped the guy they thought they wanted so badly

I love how this movie is considered a “shallow” one by most people. But u could replace Elle with any minority in society and it would still work. And the things she overcomes while not compromising on herself is an incredible lesson.❤️
Something I didn't know until recently, Elle's score of 179 on the LSAT was probably one of the highest in her class. The highest you can get is 180, when the movie came out, I thought that she just squeaked by, but she got a nearly perfect score!
Thus her comment "what like it hard?" Is even more of diss towards Warner! 😊
I’m entering a doctoral program and this movie, especially those scenes, are the fuel to my engine

@@MB-dg3lr it works! it helped me get through this year (graduated and got into a Master's program which was super hard too) and Elle Woods basically became my patron saint. like I have a framed picture of that scene where she goes 'what, like it's hard?' and lit a candle in front of it before exams hahahaha. Maybe became a bit covid crazy but it worked and I graduated with honours!

I re-watched this movie a few months ago and couldn't believe how much deeper it was than I remembered, it was a movie ahead of its time in many ways but it was disguised as just another light comedy.
I have a 13th one…FINDING TRUE LOVE COMES IN MANY WAYS (like when Elle met Emmett)
Definitely, to be honest, I don't think that Warner deserved someone like her anyway!

I watched this movie as a kid and thought she wasn't smart enough but got in through a fluke- I was like 5 then, but I'm watching it again 20 years later and I realise there's so much more to her character. Love that she didn't settle any less.
Elle was kind, smart, beautiful and fun. I love that she proved everyone wrong and was able to show her beauty and brains. She was also so nice and would befriend anyone.
As for number 8, is actually great that she kept her word. That same client fired Callagan because she couldn't trust that creep, so she hired Ella right away since she's clearly talented and has shown she can trust her.
Not only good as a friend, but also is good for professional integrity.
During my internship with the DA's office, if I had kept an alibi secret, I would have been toast.

@@tabathaogost4982 No. The DA could be unpleasant. Overall, the internship had perks-like traveling to other county seats for trials and while there-getting a free lunch in a top level restaurant. Tick him off which I did once. He sent me to work on a woman's car while he macked on her. I found that the car needed 1,000.00 worth of repairs and he got angry that I didn't find a more diplomatic way of telling her. He chewed on me for an hour.
@@aelinayea9771 I didn't pay for the repairs on her personal vehicle. I had never seen it before he asked me to look at it. The only reason the DA did that is because he heard me and another intern talk about repairing cars we owned and he deduced that I was a fair shade tree mechanic.
But, wouldn't something like that be illegal considering the fact that he was your supervisor?
Callahan, this big fancy lawyer and professor, never thought to just go visit Brooke and get the alibi himself? 🤦♀️
She wouldn’t give it to him because as Brooke said, that alibi would potentially ruin her.
I've worked with professors like that when I was at University... they perceive these kind of tasks as being "beneath them" and so they offload these tasks onto interns
Also, he didn’t believe she was innocent, or that any alibi she gave would be good enough (everyone else dismissed Brooke the same as they did Elle, as a dumb blonde and a gold digger)
Some people have marginalized or dismissed this excellent movie.
This is a great movie on multiple levels.

Great movie. I really needed this. I study a male dominated field, which isn't bad per se, so far everything has gone fine and everyone has been nice, excluding a few old teachers, but I feel like I have to be the 'role model' for other women and perform 200% for that reason. Not necessarily true, but I don't want to give a bad impression when I'm in the minority and strengthen the negative stereotype. I'm short and have a child like energy, for the lack of a better word, so I'm worried I won't be taken seriously even if I know my stuff and can take responsibility. My imposter syndrome and anxiety are nuisances lol.
This movie is life changing.
It really is. Just recommended to my young adult son 🙂

I was the same age as Elle when the movie came out. And yes, to answer your question 20 years ago EVERYONE treated pretty girls as morons. They wouldn't even let you try.
As a committed feminist, I not only approve this movie, I try and watch it once or twice a year for motivation, and a good feeling of solidarity. Go Elle! and bravo to Reese. 👍🏽

Many people say the movie is not realistic when it comes to the law stuff but that's not the point of it, it's a lesson in confidence and believing in yourself, even when others might not. This movie has motivated me through many challenges and I will always love it.
Every time I see the ending of this movie when Elle addresses the graduates, I am reminded of the 45th president plagiarizing her speech at one of his events. Poor form.

I love this movie for all of the reasons everyone always talks about...but one teeny tiny thing that would have been amazing: those glasses she wears on her first day are actually really cute. I've had to wear glasses since I was four (no, contacts aren't an option) so as a glasses-wearing natural blonde (like Elle) it would have been really cool if they were just like reading glasses that she uses on occasion. It would have been a really nice touch! Glasses can be totally cute AND even designers make frames, not just for sunglasses either. My current frames are Nine West but I've had Bebe & Candy's brand before. I've seen Chanel, Gucci, Versace, Tom Ford & Ralph Lauren glasses! 👓

The thing that ruined this movie is the casting of the Sorority girls and that woman at the salon.
Naw they were fantastic. My only change would be getting someone fluent in Vietnamese for that manicure scene. Elle’s friend who spoke it apparently was not accurate.
@@shawnbay2211 but that makes sense for the scene, elles friend may have not been perfect but she learned what she could so she could talk to someone who spoke it fluently.
