The best thing about this movie is that it doesn't discourage girls to be themselves, to be feminine and barbie esque and still be pretty smart. Society ususally discourages women who are too girly and even if they accept them, they think they would be dumb. Like a father or mother telling their daughter that she can't become a doctor or a lawyer because she is a girl. Telling her to find something easy. This movie eliminates all the stereotypes.

I also think that Warner’s ego\masculinity was shot down by Elle. Warner was used to her being the stereotypical dumb blonde and throughout the movie she was becoming more professional and breaking that ideology; he felt borderline threatened by her. He even told her she was never going to make it as a lawyer.
When Elle won the case against Chutney; Warner came running back to her. Elle just had prove to herself that she was “Jackie” along.

She's rolling her eyes. The way I read it, she automatically went eye rolling because Elle was speaking, just because it was Elle, no matter how stupid or brilliant her reasoning was. She's bullying her through body language. And when the prof congratulates Elle, the three of them (Warner, Vivian and her friend) act surprised. They were just expecting everyone, including the prof, to ridicule her. I don't think any of them had admitted to themselves that Elle was smart. Not yet. If they are acting uncomfortable, it's because they're predending to think "Why is she even here? She's wasting Harvard's time", not "Dammit, she's smart".

She got a 179 out of 180 on her LSATs, one of the most famously difficult tests in the country, after studying for 6-8 weeks at most. Not to mention that her original score was in the 140s, so she learned and adapted her thinking and mindset so quickly that the test became a nonissue. That alone is certified genius level stuff.
She was never stupid. More than that, she was always kind, attentive, adaptable, and observant. Those combined qualities are their own type of intelligence.

He picked up on her argument and realized that not only was it a valid defense for the parents, it put toxic male "stud" culture in its place. Neither of their arguments is good. Harassment is still harassment - attempting contact can be harassment if done wrongfully. Elle's argument also makes zero sense. Vivien shifts from dismissing her to listening closely and attentively. Vivens friend and Warner roll their eyes and dismiss her further. Because it was trendy to be “not like other girls” and look down on girls who were stereotypically feminine. Especially back in the 00s. They always pitted the “girl who’s not like the others” against the “stereotypical feminine girl” who was dubbed the “mean girl.”

I love how they use El to show that just because women are breaking into more traditionally male dominated fields such as law, science and engineering doesn't mean they need to change themselves to conform with the stereotypical "masculine" behaviors, communication styles and manner of presentation to be successful. I see people saying "its just a comedy, don't take it so seriously". But stereotypes such as "beautiful, blonde women are dumb" are created subconsciously through the aid of media which will depict them as such, often as comedy relief. So isn't it fitting to use media to break stereotypes media created? Fight comedy with comedy and fire with fire! 🎤🔥
