That tool seems to be the lesser violent way of swapping injector cups verse having to smack the threaded tool and risk getting garbage down in the combustion chamber. I give Riff Raff 2 Thumbs Up, Excellent Idea and Tool for such an occassion
The tool was backwards, supposed to have the arrow (side with notched ends) tword valve springs. Otherwise it touches the spring and holds cup a bit crooked
How much loctite is too much? Putting it on the bottom of the cup wouldn’t cause it to squeeze out through the hole for the nozzle and get into the cylinder?
Id pull rocker arms n do a leakdown while there and then a comp test. Also if the tool bracket hold down bolts are tight and flush who gives a fk if it partially opens a valve or compresses the spring.....use the leak down tool or the rope fill method if your thinking a keeper could sneak out. Cant see how any part of tool can differ flipping the mount plate????
Hey, if you're done with the tool, any chance you'd let me borrow it? I need to do my cups too & don't really have the $$$ to buy/rent one for one job. I know it's "no", but hey, why not ask, right?
Hey, if you're done with the job, any chance you'd let me borrow your remover & installer? I need to do cups on my pickup & don't really have the $$ to buy/rent them. I know the answer is "no", but it never hurts to ask, right? I have jury duty for the next couple weeks so it's going to be a while before I start, but I do need to get it figured out somewhat soon.
Austyn Scruggs No issues. Injectors are replaced and cups are good now. The additional power did blow out the turbo shaft seal and I started blowing white smoke out tailpipe. I ordered a kc stage 2 and it’s on the way.

Thank you. It worked fine. But if I ever do it again I’ll remember

I imagine it'd burn off pretty quickly, being in the combustion chamber with no coolant, but I do not know for certain.
