  • DISCLAIMER! I made a mistake in the install. The mounts I used for the ceiling are supposed to be used right at the base of the LED strip to prevent the strips from lifting off the garage door each time you open and close it.

I don't know if you've ever seen the M.P.I light from STKR but I think y'all would really dig it.

when I saw those contactors I was like is that going to be exposed 120! then I quickly realized its for LED its likely 12 or 24V DC so no big deal, no more dangerous than a car battery with exposed terminals. really cool design. I am still thinking I will make my own kit using either a retractable reel or a coiled flexi cord so I can use the lights with the door up or down. Nice video though, love the car too. by the way, its been more than a year, how is that system holding up? do you ever need to clean those contacts or apply di-electric grease?

Weird. I just left a comment with some questions regarding this set up and offered up an add on that y'all might be interested in but while editing my comment to include the fact that I'm a new subscriber it wouldn't let me post so I figured I'd leave the comment as-is so I discarded it and poof....the whole message was gone.
