Edmonton couldnt make a final push. And this is due to a coaching error. Knoblauch double shifted the top 5 for half the game and they just didn't have the legs in the final minutes. I mean for fucks sakes Bouchard takes 5 seconds to stickhandle behind his net with 20 seconds to go. Hes exhausted. Had he just put those energy 4th line guys out (who were huge in the last 3 games) for a bit more ice maybe the story is different. Janmark, Brown, Foegle all showed that this wasn't just the McDavid show but in the last period they barely touched ice.

He might one day be the greatest. Right now he is not. Having seen Gretzky in his prime and then watching Lemieux, there is no way that McDavid is better... just no way. McDavid is closer to Gretzky than Lemieux. Lemieux was a very different player than Gretzky. If the Panthers were to pick one for their team, I'd have no doubt it would be Lemieux with his ability to hold and control the puck without having to skate circles all over the place.
