For the people that bash a premium product like Snap on they should consider what comes when you purchase the product line.
Example: I handed over a 20 year old 14.4 tool to my Snap on dealer for my American made tool to be flat rate repaired. It came back with a new motor and a new outside case hand-delivered to me for $120.00
All this with no original receipt and no questions asked.
could spend half the amount and get milwaukees 2967 with the forge battery making way more beans than the fisher price of 18v impacts
Yeah I agree Milwaukee is cheaper but them again I’ll take USA made than china made
@carlosmedrano3549 in the 15 years of using milwaukee I've never had a problem with them but with snap on they don't make reliable impacts, they usually break or stop working after a drop more than 8ft
@@haroldjones12 I’m always warranting my 1/2 impact and it goes through batteries I don’t know why I think I’ve warranty batteries more than the tool it’s self, 5 battery’s this month don’t know if I’m getting defective ones
Aww how cute milwaulkee. I work in a 60 bay dealership and I'm the only clown with the snap on ct9080. Go ahead and buy the latest milwaulkee and put it up against the ct9080 and you will learn that the snappy boy will absolutely dominate any milwaulkee LOL. Tested time to time the ct9080 is very impressive. And it's used every damn day
ua-cam.com/video/pFQ-SSu1-PI/v-deo.htmlsi=cgs0M0n8jN95FNAf way more beans? I think not.
Have the same ct9050 in highviz had for few months love it...use it everyday for tire rotates...
1:16 Don’t badmouth their packaging. That’s clearly $163 worth of Snap-On cardboard made in the USA.
I have this impact i had it for 2 years .everyday heavy use i love this impact
For a grand, it needs to come in a Spanish cedar humidor with a Cuban cigar as a thank you token.
1K?? 2 year warranty? They don't even use lube anymore
Interesting because the rigid high torque has 1500 ft-lbs of breakaway torque and 1100 ft-lbs tightening. And a lot cheaper!! 😁
Ya. Apples to apples rigid way better. People buy snap on and tool trucks for convenience, financing , warranty etc.
Everything is a lot cheaper than SnapOn
I think the ryobi has the same as well
You can't go by what they write on the packages. On a torque Dyno it's usually not gonna happen. But bolt breakaway is a bit different.
I have this same gun in green and it's really awesome. I got mine for 500 even with a battery and charger. Same price as the Milwaukee set just with 1 less battery. It was a STEAL that I just couldn't pass up. I love it. Sure there's a new milwaukee model and new batteries but they are NOT cheap either hahaha
You got ripped off 😂
honestly, i love the packaging. minimalistic and easily recyclable. as a general rule of thumb in life, the less a product is advertised, the more confidence the manufacturer has in it selling based purely on quality and usefulness, so the more flashy packaging a product comes in, the less i expect of it.
Would like to see the test done with the 3/4 gun!! Great video!!! Love your content!!
You do the most polite reviews for the most overpriced disappointments. That can't be easy. Touché.
You sound poor.
nice to finally see some actual results from snap-on in the cordless scene. especially for those prices! kinda bummed about the warrantee being so short though.
Yip they need to change tune and increase it to 5 years like every other manufacture these days to stay competitive
Warranty may be 2 years but I rarely see someone actually talk about their rebuild program. With Snap-on regardless of how long you’ve had it, there’s a $140 charge for a rebuild once you’re out of warranty. Once you get it back it’s basically brand new. Case, internals etc. same with ratchets and other cordless tools. People knock Snap-on all the time but if you use them professionally you’ll honestly see how good they are. You never see or hear anyone knocking Hilti do you? They’re priced just like Snap-on but for contractors. Snap-on is just an easy target for mechanics who suck at paying their tool bills and/or people who’ve bought into the bs they’ve heard. But they’re usually the first ones to buy em off eBay for cheap then post on social media that “snappy got me today”
@6.4DieselDoctor It's good but honestly, harbor freight is good for hand tools with their Icon line. Stores are always open to exchange for warranty so you don't have to hunt down the tool truck when you miss it during the week.
@@nateTrh nothing wrong with icon. Everyone has their own preferences. I just don’t see why people have to bash on a specific brand all the time.
I like my 9050 far more than my old milwaukee high torque. Lighter, makes more torque, battery lasts longer, doesn't shake as bad, doesnt have connection issues with the battery. The new milwaukee gen 3 impact is awesome, im still sticking with my 9050.
For that price for a bare tool, the Gen3 Milwaukee kit is a better option
Hey STR, If you read the description on the website or ask a truck guy, snapon actually put a torque multiplier inside it and all the impacts called Monster Lithium. I've had 2 different franchisees tell me
My air impact has never overheated yet. And it's power lasts forever.
Like certain outdoor power equipment, there comes a time that battery tools have their limit as far as usefulness.
I can see where when changing tires on a tractor trailer on the road this would be handy, but not if it's overheating.
There will be a small niche where this will be worth it for some, but it's not for me.
I think you need to get your torque guns calibrated, there's no way that is 1,700ft-lbs, even wet torque.
Everyone hating om snapon cause the make good tools. I dont trust Milwaukee at all!!! Had two high torque m18s stop working on me in the field. Talk about being in a bad spot. Never again!
Something is not right. It struggled with the 900 ft-lb but loosen the 1000 and 1100 ft-lb much faster and it didn't loosen the 1400 ft-lb but did the 1500, 1600 and 1700 ft-lb.
Nice but wow, over $500. For frequent use - awesome. I just need one in case i get a flat on the road
Would you recommend me one for that use case? How much nut busting and working torque do i really need? Thanks!
Ive got a unique CT9050, Ive got it on the old style battery
Everyone bashes snappy but never ever bash Hilti which is basically priced the same but for contractors.
Is it just me or does that have a pretty crappy warranty???
The 9050 is the mid torque. The high torque is the 9080.
I love snap-on hand tools, but to see this impact make that many ugga duggas less with such a ridiculous price tag is really disappointing.
It doesn't matter how well they perform, 1 grand for an impact driver with 2 batteries is ridiculous... I buy tools to make money. If you're buying this tool, it's to show off or have bragging rights...
the battery wont fit the old my guy told me. there's 2 extra ridges that hold it up
I just bought an astro tools Thor and it's onyx 3/8 stubby. I will never buy electric again! I did just buy snapons 1/4 in long next ratchet which I love! It replaced my ingersol titanium from prob 15 yrs ago! But air is where it's at! Unless you can't have air! But if you aren't mobile and either have air at home and work screw battery tools!
Snap on handtools are great. Not so much for cordless tools
Great review! really leaning towards picking this up soon, one question does anyone know if the old style battery protective boot will still fit on the new side release batteries? obviously it would cover the release tabs
Isn’t this their older model that came out a couple years ago?
does snap on not offer higher ah batterys for their drills and impacts like milwaukee an dewalt, etc?
Is that a makita battery?
I love snap on
Is that a new high torque.
Beastmode!
Snapon's biggest disadvantage is lack of battery options.
But there batteries are phenomenal
Made buy Milwaukee about 3 times the price
Not made by Milwaukee
CT9050GM
Yikes.. that's a crappy warranty 😂
Ryobi does the same
I bet if you put one of there brand new new hp battery on it it can do more then this no problem
I absolutely hate how the snap on electronic impacts look! They look like something you'd buy at Walmart 15yrs ago! Ugly
wooooow good job
Late but at least he reviewed it.

That's interesting. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for taking the dive on this at $1000. It's a no-go for anyone aside from the guy that starts off his conversation with the waitress with, "My impact is a Snap-On" as he orders his Bud Light to wash down that salad he ordered earlier. She pauses thinking he said, strap on. 🤣
Damn bro just say you can’t afford it and move on like everyone else
@@dynaryda8857 Aw, a strap-on fanboi finally showed up. Took a month but knew eventually some mouth breather would eventually come along and defend his throwing money in the sh*tter.
snap on power tools arent worth it. theyre still made in china and their warranty is crap, should you need repairs you lose your tool for an extended period of time. they will never just replace your tool it always goes out for repairs.
But you usually will get back a new one or very close, and they will give you a loaner
TBH I don’t like snap on at all I prefer Milwaukee
Lol beat dewalts big boy dcf900
The dcf900 is not even dewalt's most powerful high torque anymore. That's now the dcf961, which would shit all over this snap on
@Jaime7188 who knows its not really out yet
Why he dont give extra 18.44 seconds to dcf900 to do the job like he did on snap-on?
@@qbalkata because snap on was moving
@@markk3948I'm very sure it will, considering the hammer is 1lb heavier than it was on the dcf900
The Louis Vuitton of tools, ugly and over priced.
