I have a 97 f150 with an 03 4.2 engine, and installed a k&n air filter into the stock air box!. It caused all manners of chaos! It caused the MAF sensor AND the IAT sensor, to go bonkers Bandana bananas! LOL!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆Triple B threat! All jokes aside, isn’t it odd how one modification can interfere on one engine, yet not affect another almost identical engine at all?
Do you have a check engine light because of the Air filter too? I have the same truck and every time I put a different better filter the light comes on.
Well the truck had an engine light since I bought it from someone eles it had like 30 codes. Fix a few of those codes and now just got like 7 code left..It came with the original air filter assembly. Then I just bought this cheap air filter assembly from Ebay to try it out and bought a K&N air filter separately but no extra codes came up when I installed So far it been like 2 years now.
Where does the smaller control arm on the runner attach to at the back of the engine? The larger one is no problem but smaller one fell off when removing part. Can't see what it attaches to.
When you see the intake control runner in the middle you see both metal arm rods are attached to the intake control's let call it oval metal mechanism that pulls and pushes the arm rods. So each of those rods at each end is attach to something similar to open and close the ports for the intake manifold. If im not mistake on the far right side the similar mechanism is at the top. Also on the far left side at a lower part of the intake manifold. Or you can also try using a small mirror to see if can find it but it could be a little hard the see. I was try to find a picture to show how it looks but havnt really found any good ones the show it well. So hope the comment helps.
I got this to try it out cuz it was cheap getting a 200 dollar one for his engine in my opinion it not worth it I like the sound it makes, havnt had any issue with it....They have a red, black and blue, only thing I changed was the air filter to an Universal K&N which was like $30 you can find at some walmarts or online.

That's a iac valve not a EGR valve on top of throttle body.

That's for removing door panel clips, not a screwdriver
