Been using Sigeyi for Rotor for almost 6 mos. same as accurate with my vector 2 and Wahoo kickr. Can attest this is a premium chinese power meter brand.
Glad to see the Review for the AXO. I've got mine the other week, and now only realised I'm Hardware 5.... Hopefully it will work fine for me with it being my Indoor/Winter bike
I am using an older model since 2 1/2 years on all my rides and it has been reliable and repeatable. I have not compared it to another meter since I am at the age of 67 not too worried about the absolute accuracy or total power level I am able to generate but more about how my fitness changes (or hopefully improves) and there it is really giving good results. On rare occasions it has shows a power spike of up to 1500 or 2000W which in my case is pure phantasy since my FTP is at ~170W. I have a "standard" ride of 90km which I do at least every other week but quite regularly weekly and the average powers are always within 5% of each other and if lower I mostly know why. Either a late night night before, or a hard ride the day before or ...... else . It also shows an estimate of L-R power which in my case is quite unbalanced by ~5% (55/45) but that is assumed to be correct because of an older injury in my right leg. The only minor problem I have is with the charge port. The contacts are rather unprotected and by now I have to be careful of how I place the charge cable so it makes good contact and charges.
Great review Shane. I just ordered an XCadey to test and try out on the MTB. I may have to try one of these in the future. They look very similar to the Xcadeys.
Nice one GPLama! After several rides on a new 110/8 bolt AXO, one over 5hrs the difference max ~1.7% over the Assiomas. Happy as they're consistent and have scaled to -1.5%. The only issue I could find was the android firmware update which wouldn't kick off when new, worked fine after I ran it through an apple phone to start with. Appreciate the honest local reviews thanks again ;)
It would be interesting to compute the RMS (Root Mean Square) error between your reference and measurement runs to get a good single number figure of merit on the accuracy of a PM. Great content as usual :)
I've got two on my MTB's and I can't fault them at all. I've tried to compare them to my Smart Trainer and can never see a difference to try and scale. Great review Llama👍

I've just updated the firmware and think I will dial in a +1.5 or 2% offset as the MTB on the trainer seems to be about that much off at ~320W. Thanks again Mr Lama!
I own two of these, on a gravel and a road bike. I have had them all season and absolutey love them especially with the new app. Vs my Wahoo Kickr I need to up it about 1.5%. Otherwise a great experience, great support so far and just a great deal here.
Good to see another player in the market at an affordable price. I guess it can take a long time to get a powermeter right, wahoo must be having some issues with the speedplay powermeter that was revealed 6 months ago.
Damn I’m only on Hardware version 5. Good to see the video finally up for this! I took a gamble in March for the MTB and have been pretty happy. Keen to see how this new Firmware goes. Has jumped from 3.6 or so so 4 recently. Maybe with the app update 3 weeks ago? 2 things I’ve noticed - 1. MTB with short sharp bursts there’s normally one or two power spikes per ride, doubt you’d notice it on the road or gravel. 2. If you give it really high cadence >110 the power will start reading high. Not a problem for mtb unless you run out of gears. Definitely keen to see if there’s firmware improvements though!
My suito T reads 20 Watts lower than my AXO. Reading forum posts it seems the suito may have some power accuracy problems. Will try do some more comparisons
Got mine 4 month and I like it: Hardware Revision 5 but SRAM 5Bolt 110. Checked it against a SmartTrainer and got similar results. Update for the APP is also nice. For my rides 1% off is not so important as for a professional rider. Support from factory was awesome... really like their way to communicate with customer. I got direct answeres to my questions, and I have no problem to buy in china. Battery is really good: I rode 3-4 Month with 2k and my battery is still at ne mid 70%. So this means: I have to ride more roadbike! Thumbs Up! Great Video as alway, and thanks to @sigeyi for the presale support in my case.

I wonder if the AXO 8-bolt direct mount, 4-bolt 107 BCD chainring interface power meter would work with the SRAM Rival AXS aluminum crankset and SRAM 1x12 Flattop chainring? If so, this could make a great, low-cost 1x12 AXS crank-power meter combo that measures power more accurately than the Rival left-side only spindle meter. There is also a 5-bolt, 110 BCD version of that power meter that might work with Wolf Tooth 1x12 chainrings on that same Rival AXS crank. I was going to go with the Power2Max NGECO meter on a Praxis crank with Wolf Tooth 1x12 AXS compatible chainring, but this AXO setup might be less expensive if it works on a Rival AXS crank. Any thoughts?
First of all keep doing great job, second I am very confused. When you buy a spider powermeter like this one, do you need to buy cranks as well? I have Ultegra 8000 and I want to buy a power power meter that will not explode my budget, I cannot buy pedals because I have a leg issue that does not allow SPD, only flats or clip-r, and I am completely lost in what I need to buy! Cranks? Spider? Both? Only left? Can you do a video for us newbees? Thanks

Shane, I thought that you would not use Assioma Duo Shi since the bigger Q-factor. Did you find +13mm on each side more acceptable for you than standard length spindles?
If you are running power....then there is a very good chance you have a smart trainer at home. However...regardless....power only matters in an absolute sense when you are trying to compare to somebody else. If you are consistently high or low...then what does it matter because you will use that data to set your training levels.

How much clearance have you got between the outer plate of the Front Derailleur and the Drive Side crank arm with this setup please? I use a P2M with a 3D24 and there isn't enough clearance. Either the chain touches the Front Derailleur or the Front Derailleur touches the crank arm. Thank you. GP

Will these work with a MTB Double Chainset? Really quite tempted. I notice on the site that they don't support a 28T / 30T but I can live with that as long as I can use two chainrings. Edit - Though I've just looked at the compatibility list, and from what I can tell, none of them go big enough in a double to avoid that issue. Maybe 26T is compatible even though the next two sizes up aren't? (Seems unlikely)
i have the option to buy a quarq dzero or segeyi axo both at the exact same price both new. both will be 110/5 bcd which would you choose? i currently run quarq on one bike and could see the benefit in having same powermeter on both. also think quarq is easier to sell after. but segeyi is 15-20gram lighter and 1% instead of 1,5% also is rechargeable and quarq is cell battery powered. dwhat is your opinion when both are same price ?
You'll need to use something like a Rotor ALDHU crankset (or VEGAST) to use the Shimano 24mm BB and Shimano chainrings. The compatibility chart over at the Sigeyi UK site (link in description) has the details.
Have you adjusted the Kickr numbers to compensate for drivetrain efficiency? Even with a new nicely waxed chain, drivetrain efficiency is about 97%, yet the Kickr is reading about 98.6-99.5% or even above the Assiomas?
@@gplama Hi, are you sure? I just contacted Wahoo support asking for the exact amount and they responded with "Drivetrain efficiency is not compensated for." The 2020 Kickr/SRM study from Liverpool John Moores University also says it is not compensated-for.

I'm looking for a Powermeter for my Revolt gravel bike. Being short I'm using a 165mm cranks 1x (GRX 600 series). For reasons unknown to me Shimano only makes GRX 810 cranks starting 170mm. All of the Stages, Inpeak, 4iii can only be installed on GRX 810 series cranks as 600 cranks have a recess in crank arm exactly which the power meter seats. Does anyone know a solution to this problem? I was thinking of replacing the cranks with SRAM Rival Wide 1x with Wolf tooth chainring but I'm not sure if it's a good idea as my BSA BB is designed for 24mm axle leaving very little room for bearings + chainline differs as well. I was hoping Shimano would eventually add 165 810 cranks but it seems unlikely. Looks hopeless. Can You advise GPLama or anyone?

My solution however is to get rid of GRX 1x and switch to SRAM Rival AXS Wide 1x groupset with XPLR range. 165mm cranks are available, a decent not very expensive Powermeter built in + I'll get rid of yet another cable in the front. I never thought I would choose Sram over Shimano voluntarily but it's happening.

Shane, I was recently hit by a car and of course she claims I ran into her. What (if any) Front and rear camera would you recommend that allows me to record rides that sometimes are 4ish hours long? Sorry for going off topic.
I hesitate to recommend Cycliq cameras as they're getting on in years now and really don't have the best optics (or user experience)... but I think they're the only 'good' option for long duration recording for this purpose.
@@gplama The Drift Ghost XL is a Cycliq clone without the light - so decent camera with 8hr battery life. Reviews on Amazon on reliability are about as mixed as for Cycliq.

I only got 1 1/2 miles into my ride in jersey when it happened. What made it worse was that the lady told me - I "shouldn't have been riding my bike on the road". 🤬 It took all my energy to not drop kick her. Thank you though and you stay safe also.
I just started using the Sigeyi Axo and have done 5 rides with it so far. I felt that it was reading a bit low and tested it against my Wahoo Kickr Core just now. It's reading -15% lower... Not sure what to do now because it's such a big difference. When scaling up by 15% the sprint power will be through the roof right?
@@gplama I just checked and the maximum is 10% scale. Problem with the first test was that I had not done a spindown on the Kickr 😅. Did another test and the results were between 1% and 5% off. Not equal across different power ranges. It seems like the Axo especially has problems on short higher power efforts when going up a small hill for example. Around the 200w range it’s closest. Would scaling to the average % difference for a ride be the best option in this case?
@@gplama I think my unit is faulty. When doing over-unders it is under reading by about 50 watts at 350w. Steady state it fluctuates between reading by a few percent high and a few percent low, not equal across the board. The overall average power differs between rides and is sometimes 3-8 percent higher, sometimes 3-8 percent lower. Really hoped this powermeter would be the one but apparently it isn't working correctly :(
Good question. I’ve briefly had a SIGEYI on my MTB but the measurements were 6% low (iirc). I scaled the reading up but then the sprints were off. I’d need to re-test another SIGEYI MTB spider to be confident recommending them for MTB.
I asked sigeyi, got a quick response saying "Hardware version is different for different AXO power meter model,because they have different microchip, circuit board, and cover". Pretty impressed with sigeyi so far, just waiting for my favero pedals to arrive so I can put the sigeyi, favero duo pedals and direto trainer against each other. Cheers for the detailed review 👍
@@gplama is there anyway you can 'test' design e.g. the NGeco's battery retention design seems flawed - the battery clip on my partner's just snapped off and I've seen comments from many with the same problem (water got in as well, before the clip broke). it is not +/- 1% accuracy , it is minimum 2% or more depending on your charts. A NGEco is much more accurate with the stated +/-2%... (with real autozero, with german quality and warranty...) Honestly, i dont understand lots of people, they spend tons of money for wheels or any tiny parts for minimal gains, but they always skimp on a quality powermeter for reliable datas from out of the box... Ok, it is better than 1.5years ago but the price difference is not too much , ~100EUR between this and a quality one...
@@imperialspy3457 i have 3 NGs since 2017 (before these i had 4 TypeSs), i pre-ordered them before NG release date in 2016 as very first customer , i use them as reference power meter/s/ (all are within 1 watt due to certified dynamic calibrations) for validating other's trainers or powermeters (i'm/was "similar" tech guy as GPLama in my country just with more hair :D but not so good looking as he is! :DDD so this is why i dont have own YT channel :)). As i know the location service is needed for BT connection, there are many other apps which work such a way (so it doesnt record your real location: "To access the hardware identifiers of nearby external devices via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi scans, your app must now have the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permissions" or similar)

I don’t like the q-factor on them at all. They’re still good reference to compare other meters with.

The R8000 has an integrated spider/crank configuration, so none of these are compatible with that crank.

No. Wahoo have mentioned they factor in a small amount of drivetrain loss in their calculations.

How much percentage scale up for most accurate power, i don't have other power meter to compare. i just bought Sigeyi axo power meter
The only way to know is to test against other meters. If there was a set/fixed value then they’d do that at the factory.

All of the Stages, Inpeak, 4iii can only be installed on GRX 810 series cranks as 600 cranks have a recess in crank arm exactly which the power meter seats.
Does anyone know a solution to this problem? I was thinking of replacing the cranks with SRAM Rival Wide 1x with Wolf tooth chainring but I'm not sure if it's a good idea as my BSA BB is designed for 24mm axle leaving very little room for bearings + chainline differs as well. I was hoping Shimano would eventually add 165 810 cranks but it seems unlikely. Looks hopeless. Can You advise GPLama or anyone?
You can run a standard Shimano road left crank on a GRX chainset. If you're ok with a mm or so difference in q-factor/stance width: ua-cam.com/video/y3XjBeE6ngA/v-deo.html

I am using a Stages Ultegra 6800 left crank arm. It's seems to work for me. Any Shimano left crank in theory should work.
@@eiichirom.2403 Yes that is a workaround of this problem but... Not ideal. My solution however is to get rid of GRX 1x and switch to SRAM Rival AXS Wide 1x groupset with XPLR range. 165mm cranks are available, a decent not very expensive Powermeter built in + I'll get rid of yet another cable in the front. I never thought I would choose Sram over Shimano voluntarily but it's happening.

You’ll need to compare it to another trusted power meter/smart trainer to know.
Problem is I don't have one. So was hoping based on ur advise to scale it up would be the best answer 😊
Shane, I was recently hit by a car and of course she claims I ran into her. What (if any) Front and rear camera would you recommend that allows me to record rides that sometimes are 4ish hours long? Sorry for going off topic.
I hesitate to recommend Cycliq cameras as they're getting on in years now and really don't have the best optics (or user experience)... but I think they're the only 'good' option for long duration recording for this purpose.
@@gplama The Drift Ghost XL is a Cycliq clone without the light - so decent camera with 8hr battery life.
Reviews on Amazon on reliability are about as mixed as for Cycliq.

@@valiantabello Yeah, I was visiting family and they warned me but I didn't listen. 🤣 I've been riding for years and never got so much as a scrape while riding. I only got 1 1/2 miles into my ride in jersey when it happened. What made it worse was that the lady told me - I "shouldn't have been riding my bike on the road". 🤬 It took all my energy to not drop kick her. Thank you though and you stay safe also.

I just started using the Sigeyi Axo and have done 5 rides with it so far. I felt that it was reading a bit low and tested it against my Wahoo Kickr Core just now. It's reading -15% lower... Not sure what to do now because it's such a big difference. When scaling up by 15% the sprint power will be through the roof right?
If the offset it linear, not a problem.
@@gplama I just checked and the maximum is 10% scale. Problem with the first test was that I had not done a spindown on the Kickr 😅. Did another test and the results were between 1% and 5% off. Not equal across different power ranges. It seems like the Axo especially has problems on short higher power efforts when going up a small hill for example. Around the 200w range it’s closest. Would scaling to the average % difference for a ride be the best option in this case?
@@gplama I think my unit is faulty. When doing over-unders it is under reading by about 50 watts at 350w. Steady state it fluctuates between reading by a few percent high and a few percent low, not equal across the board. The overall average power differs between rides and is sometimes 3-8 percent higher, sometimes 3-8 percent lower. Really hoped this powermeter would be the one but apparently it isn't working correctly :(

Good question. I’ve briefly had a SIGEYI on my MTB but the measurements were 6% low (iirc). I scaled the reading up but then the sprints were off. I’d need to re-test another SIGEYI MTB spider to be confident recommending them for MTB.

That's one for Sigeyi. I have no idea. I can only assume the newer models are higher revisions.
I asked sigeyi, got a quick response saying "Hardware version is different for different AXO power meter model,because they have different microchip, circuit board, and cover". Pretty impressed with sigeyi so far, just waiting for my favero pedals to arrive so I can put the sigeyi, favero duo pedals and direto trainer against each other. Cheers for the detailed review 👍
What about the water proof? Did you tested?
I don’t have a water testing protocol. It’s something I may add to reviews after the accuracy testing.
@@gplama is there anyway you can 'test' design e.g. the NGeco's battery retention design seems flawed - the battery clip on my partner's just snapped off and I've seen comments from many with the same problem (water got in as well, before the clip broke). A little off topic, but that is why I am interested in the Sigeyi... Thanks for your review, I wasn't even aware of these until I saw it on your site!

it is not +/- 1% accuracy , it is minimum 2% or more depending on your charts. A NGEco is much more accurate with the stated +/-2%... (with real autozero, with german quality and warranty...)
Honestly, i dont understand lots of people, they spend tons of money for wheels or any tiny parts for minimal gains, but they always skimp on a quality powermeter for reliable datas from out of the box... Ok, it is better than 1.5years ago but the price difference is not too much , ~100EUR between this and a quality one...
I love my NG Eco because it just works, but I still don't understand why you need location service turned on to use the app.
@@imperialspy3457 i have 3 NGs since 2017 (before these i had 4 TypeSs), i pre-ordered them before NG release date in 2016 as very first customer , i use them as reference power meter/s/ (all are within 1 watt due to certified dynamic calibrations) for validating other's trainers or powermeters (i'm/was "similar" tech guy as GPLama in my country just with more hair :D but not so good looking as he is! :DDD so this is why i dont have own YT channel :)). As i know the location service is needed for BT connection, there are many other apps which work such a way (so it doesnt record your real location: "To access the hardware identifiers of nearby external devices via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi scans, your app must now have the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permissions" or similar)
What quality power meter do you recommend that is at par with quarq power meter?
