Forgot to mention the fun little fact that it literally hurts every time Wolverine whips his claws out since they are literally tearing through his flesh. Since the holes heal, they'll hurt again the next time he whips them out. The worse part is, the rare times his healing factor is disabled, it hurts even worse and obviously the pain linger longer since the holes aren't healing up as instantly as they normally would.

Initially when his adamantium was ripped out by Magneto the massive trauma blew out his healing factor, his healing factor could not keep up and it burnt out for some time afterwards, he healed like a normal human. Nobody knew at the time that the adamantium poisoning hindered his healing factor and stopped his mutation from further evolving. It was when Genesis attempted to rebond adamantium to his skeleton again that his body rejected the adamantium and literally shot the adamantium from his pores that resulted in a literal explosion. The re-bonding process reignited his healing factor and mutation and it went into overdrive and evolved his mutation as it would have naturally if he never received the adamantium in the first place. Everything about his mutation was amplified and he could heal faster than anyone else. Wounds couldn't be seen on him, example would be a slice wound would heal as fast as the wound was created, somewhat instantly. I loved that version of Wolverine, but they ended it.

That's one of the downsides of being a healing factor character. If you know they can recover from almost anything, the writer has the ability to really put him through the ringer. That's why you'll always see Wolverine and similar characters either riddled with bullets or stabbed all over the place (Deadpool even gets limbs chopped off) but that sort of thing rarely happens to characters like say, Spider-Man cause they'd obviously die.

In House of M, we find out that without his healing factor, Wolverine's body wouldn't be able to adapt to his adamantium infusion (because it is considered foreign substance) and he would die quickly and painfully. I just find it amazing that, though written in so long after Logan's introduction, Marvel managed to find and sneak in tiny interesting logic like this to enrich its characters.

The movie Logan made us think that Adamantium poisoning was killing him. Hell even he was convinced of it too. I mean it kinda was but it wasn’t the core issue. His healing factor was just simply fading away. That’s because whatever they were putting in the food in that timeline was killing off the X gene and mutants were going extinct by 2029. The X-gene killing substance in the food in turn was chipping away at his natural abilities i.e his healing factor so it was then that adamantium poisoning might be happening plus he began aging too.

When Wolverine killed Jean Grey (in the movie), she wanted him to do it. She was aware of her powerlessness under the Dark Phoenix persona and wanted an out. Logan acquiesced to her desire to be rid of it and both were aware that killing her was the only way. Logan loved Jean and this was a painful thing to do, but ultimately the only way to "save" her. That's not exactly correct. The fact is, every time Wolverine suffers damage that could be fatal(to him), he actually dies and his soul goes to Purgatory while his body rebuilds itself.
There, he has to fight Azrael each and every time. If he defeats Azrael, he gets sent back to his body and gets to live. If he loses, he stays in Puragtory.
This happens every time Wolverine gets a fatal wound. It wasn't a one off. This has been happening since World War 1, when Azrael was claiming souls on the battlefield and Logan snuck up and killed him.
But they later renegotiated the deal so that Logan would die if he took fatal wounds again.

WHAT I IMAGINE MIGHT BE DIFFERENT FOR A (WOLVERINE) WHO HAS VIBRANIUM:
Now I imagine that the alternate version of Wolverine, who has Vibranium metal coated over his skeleton, and that particular type of metal is not harmful to his body, and to add I imagine he has an unbelievably amazing immune-system.
The reason why is because I imagine it’s more compatible with bones, than that of the Adamantium metal.
To add I imagine that it doesn’t interfere with the body’s blood flood process, and the other types of inner body working processes.
I also imagine that LOGAN aka Wolverine he wears a Adamantium helmet, when fighting against extremely dangerous enemies.
Plus to add I imagine that he has special types of extra weapons that are made out of Adamantium; Like that of knives, daggers, sometimes swords, and Adamantium metal gloves.
Now I imagine WOLVERINE only uses these Adamantium metal weapons for certain occasions when it’s extremely serious.
But when it comes to his Adamantium metal gloves; I imagine he uses them to enhance his claws when fighting, and I imagine his Adamantium metal gloves has an extra feature to them.

It wasn’t the adamantium that was inhibiting his healing factor, making him die, it was chemicals that cured the X mutant gene in all of the food and drink commonly consumed (I think it was corn syrup stuff). That’s also why there were less and less mutants and mutants were essentially dying off, all of them were being affected. It was that, that was turning off his healing factor which then also lead to adamantium poisoning slowing his already decaying healing factor further. Because without the majority of his healing, he can’t handle the adamantium which then started to poison him as well.
But if he didn’t consume that food/drink, he could still technically have lived with the adamantium forever, since his healing factor could handle it and had adapted to it.

Wolverine became the 4th Horseman death by defeating Sabretooth who had an adamantium skeleton and claws in the comics which is different than the movies. Logan was agumented again by Hydra and The Hand when he was killed by Gorgon and resurrected. It was later revealed in the comics that Xavier is the one who mind wiped Logan an rewrote his personality due to Logan was sent to kill Xavier by Weapon X. During this time Wolverine shrugged off a full-strength punch from Colossus. Walked through a full unrestrained optic blast by cyclops and a physic assault from Jean Grey who was augmented by the phoenix force. At that point Logan regained control over himself because he refused to kill Jean by the order of apocalypse. last fact any time logan dies he fights the angel of death for the ability to return. Also, in the death of wolverine Logan killed himself an saved the subjects who were going to augmented in the new weapon plus process.

Wolverine is actually my favorite X-men, but he is not one of the strongest. He is a Class 3 mutant, so more powerful than some mutants but no where near as powerful as Magneto, or Professor-X, or even Storm.

Wolverine is basically a more rugged Deadpool with less cussing. 🤣

He did not regrow the adamantium claws, the bone claws regrew, the adamantium did not.

I have the Wolverine comics and I'm almost 100% sure that they made it seem like all Wolverine needed to do was focus on his humanity.

Funny how his claws went from full adamantine to bone claws that are coated. i still have all the original Marvel universe sourcebooks that show the skeleton is laced and claws are solid. Bone claws are dumb
