This really makes me want one now! I was desperately waiting for the newer tech updates especially keyless entry and touchscreen technology. The fact that it’s faster 0-60 and is better on fuel is a knock out for me. Sign me up!
I have ordered the 450d arriving in 01/25. i think the diesel is the better daily than the 500 + keeping the classic gwagon energy ordered it in olive green and just not sure if i should choose night pack 1 only or night pack 1+2
Congrats on your new G. What a car it is. Olive green is one hell of a colour. When I configured a G (but obviously not ordered it - cant afford that 😢😂), I also used olive green. I think this color works with chrom and with Night-Package 1+2 very well. I'm more that sporty type of guy, so I prefer Night Package 1 and 2. But its your choice
@@tobiasl.8815 thanks! Yes as I am also younger, I feel like the sporty night pack 1+2 suits me better 😄 but either way just a lovely car, personally taking it with white interior black steering wheel, I love that combination
I know the 6 cylinder from other MB cars. It's a powerful and nice sounding engine. You have enough punch believe me. Ok. A V8 is always very nice but try out the 6. You will love it.
Was supposed to pick up my brand new emerald green G400d today, no colour choice....but the bank man to okay my EFT fell ill, now it can only be Monday. I waited 39 years, so a weekend won't kill me.
I think you guys forget what the G was created for. This is why I want one, is to off-road to go to the mountains and terrains that normal SUVs can get to. Yes I welcome luxury also. But the reliability and capability is what's more important than anything.
I don’t understand the position of front and rear cameras. G450d with I6 diesel engine is the sweet spot, but G500 with I6 gasoline engine isn’t suitable.
The first G’s were I4. And it was built with purpose. The v8 of the past were meh at best maybe the newest ones. The current I6 is a brilliant engine. But the I6 diesel is the real deal. The rest is snobbery.
The G-Klasse is the last real Mercedes IMO...what quality meaning ❣️👌🏼 These solid Feeling what you get in the W124 and W126, are gone in the most new Mercedes and cars in generell 😢 Love from Berlin 🇩🇪 Ramsi 🙋🏻♂️
Come on, G 500 is V8 only. I think that Mercedes is turning into a bunch of blasphemers: AMG GT which, in addition to weighing 400 kg more than the previous one, is no longer dry sump and no longer has the transaxle drivetrain, C63 four cylinder and 2500 kg of weight (while BMW offers the M3 Touring...), S-Class which cares more about entertainment than construction quality and the G class increasingly refined and increasingly for posh people. I have been buying Mercedes for thirty years but I like today's Mercedes less and less.
European regulators dictate engine sizes. Mercedes would love to sell us V8. I drove new S class and its a sweet ride, i don’t know what u talking about
How disrespectful to call it an entry level G. It’s a different car for a different purpose. I feel the g400 is in some ways more tasteful than the G63.
For me the best car. But I prefer the Diesel which we have in our G450d. G450d or G63 , G500 with 6 cyl. makes for me no sense. If you want a daily driver and long range ( really economical ! 8 L per 100km overall !) allterrain car for travelling the G450d is the right one. For pure fun and show the G63.
We just got a G550 (G500) in the store. its a big upgrade for the G but I'm very disappointed in the sound. It just doesn't have that iconic G characteristic when you rev it.
People nagging on the 500 being an I6 doesn't make sense for me. All the other current 500s make this exact power out of the M256 engine. What should they name it, G475? I didn't give a damn about the M176 in the G500. If I'd want the V8 I'd straight up buy the AMG, as it is the most sold model. We live in times where they need to be environmental friendly, take the i6 or not?😬 the G500 didn't sound nice either way and this produces the same torque if not more while being more efficient. I'm fine as long as the G63 has a V8 tbf
The silly thing: three differential locks which can be engaged on the go, TC second to none, then that brainless wheels that are too low profile to deflate in rocky or sandy terrain. How dumb as bricks "engineers" can be......😢
G 500 for me needs to be a V8 and would have always been my #1 choice for the G Wagon. Both R6 engines are incredible smooth and fascinate with their effortless power delivery. The engines fit perfectly well almost any Mercedes except of the AMG variants and the G Wagon. This is why I am not a fan of the 53 versions either. The character of both Mercedes inline 6 is smooth and perfect which is great bit jut doesn’t fit an AMG or G Wagon. Feeling the engine in a G Wagon for me is part of the experience and the V8 is just rougher, less perfect and more brutal. GLE , GLS and S all go perfectly well with inline 6 and there is not really a need for a V8 in these cars (for non AMG versions). The G Wagon is the only Merc that really needs this non AMG V8 so I’ll miss it for sure.
Inline 6 Diesel engines are brilliant for SUVs.
Perfect for off-road
Getting a G400d soon, it's on order.
Torque monsters
450d is king.
This really makes me want one now! I was desperately waiting for the newer tech updates especially keyless entry and touchscreen technology. The fact that it’s faster 0-60 and is better on fuel is a knock out for me. Sign me up!
130kph at less than 2,000rpm is mad!!! What a drivetrain the 500 has!
Another great video. For me 450d. Sound better than the 500, more torque and efficiency.
Greetins from Spain
Picking up our 450 tomorrow, can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How do you like it? Im strongly considering
I'm getting one of the very last G400d's, as the G450d is still somewhere in the far future where I live. Pity indeed.
I have ordered the 450d arriving in 01/25. i think the diesel is the better daily than the 500 + keeping the classic gwagon energy

Congrats on the new car! Also, I guess you spend quite a bit less time at petrol stations with a diesel.
And sound better Bro.

I love the G in green metallic with crome on the grill and bumpers ❣️
With these shiny multi spoke wheels ❕🤩👌🏼
So looks very luxerious 😅

I don’t understand the position of front and rear cameras. G450d with I6 diesel engine is the sweet spot, but G500 with I6 gasoline engine isn’t suitable.
Why you think so? The I6 has an extreme pulling power from the low ends thanks to the e motor
6in line is better and stronger
Than V6 from experience.
The V has many drawbacks,
So it is better.
The only modern Mercedes i like!
The first G’s were I4. And it was built with purpose. The v8 of the past were meh at best maybe the newest ones. The current I6 is a brilliant engine. But the I6 diesel is the real deal. The rest is snobbery.

Great video Raz. I agree with you summary, I would buy the diesel. I’m taking about it right now, might go test drive one too. 👍
Do I still need to do "G wagon Wave" when driving it?
inline 6 and G is the perfect balance
Only thing that make me sad is the V8 change to 6... Otherwise great car
By the by good review ❤
When I have to take a 6 Zylinder, then I would take the Diesel ❣️
But the old G500 with V8 is the best ‼️💪🏼😅

This is so much non sense.
Who gives a damn about the 500? 🤦🏻♂️
This is why I have a 04 G500 and 04 S55. New ones suck
The S-Class point is bullshit. Sit in one and you‘ll know they haven’t been built better since the 80s.
European regulators dictate engine sizes. Mercedes would love to sell us V8. I drove new S class and its a sweet ride, i don’t know what u talking about
You remind me of an immature Toyota fanboy.

Hey, not sure if u have mentioned it before but do u have another business(es) aside from RBR to be able to buy the cars that you do?
I reaaly like the rims in the silver car
We just got a G550 (G500) in the store. its a big upgrade for the G but I'm very disappointed in the sound. It just doesn't have that iconic G characteristic when you rev it.
But you couldn't hear the previous G500 either?
Sincemerc is producing v12 for othercars, why not putthat in the full fat amg then leave the v8 in g500
The same engine as the CLE53 🤷🏻♂️
I have a question
Why Mercedes did not put air suspension system in G Class
My guess is that it just isn't durable enough for tough offroad use
@@hummerltheOhCorrect! Ask the owners of big Lexus, I saw air suspensions pop on TLC200 and Lexus 470
People will buy either the AMG or the diesel. The 500 doesn’t make sense to me.
AMG my @ss! We use these things to traverse or coastal and rock deserts. Inline 6, petrol or Diesel, just perfect.
I want a G10,000 with 4 cylinder and top speed of 50 mph
Next year

Umm nice profile pics guys
Wheres the 2025?
Don’t forget to tell him about the camera in the front and a camera in the back they will get dirty and I will get damaged very quickly. 🤮
Let’s Brabusified ⚡️
You didn't remember G63. You have to compare with G 500
Blasphemous to consider this for anything other than using it on sand, rocks, dirt roads and the wonderful Karoo of South Africa 🇿🇦
