Thank you all for listening to this remarkable recording by the Sinta Quartet! I've been uploading score videos of new pieces all throughout the summer, including my newest sax quartet Moonlit Village and a bari sax duo called Phantom Voltage, so be sure to subscribe and check out those recent videos if you enjoyed this! And a new edition of Volcanic Ash is now available with a couple small tweaks and some much needed notational polish! www.hassmusic.com/chamber/volcanicash
As the soprano player on this recording, I can attest that this piece is the shit. And also for you recording nerds out there, Chris was in the booth for this recording and produced this track as well!
@@graserclassical Definitely gotta put “this piece is the shit” in my bio 😂 Thanks for everything, Dan! It was such a joy revisiting this recording to make this video. I had to listen through the piece around 10 times to sync everything up and your quartet’s energy, precision, and fire just doesn’t get old!
DANG all those soprano/alto and tenor/bari arpeggios sound so clean and accurate to guitar sweeping its actually scary, makes me immediately think of power metal the likes of bands like Dragonforce. huge props to all the players for the absolutely impeccable playing!!!!
ALSO THIS RECORDING IS SO GOOD AND RECORDED SO WELL! Every saxophonist sounds amazing and thank you Chris Evan Hass for this master pieces. You will and are a part of saxophone history because of your quartets.
@@toxiboi5771Glad it did not disappoint! You’re too kind though, I’m happy to hear you enjoy these quartets but I’m so blessed to have gotten to work with the Sinta Quartet on this recording!
I am a Bari saxophonist and I want playing sax to be my career so badly. Sadly I live in Ohio USA and I’m broke. I play on the streets for cash but I can’t find anyone around me that wants to actually make music or form a good group. I love this so much though
Wow, just wow!! Every time i thought it couldnt get better it did, then i got to the arpeggios (and then the tenor and bari ones!!) and it somehow did! Now i just need to find people mad enough to play it with me...
Hey I love your pieces! I was thinking about starting to compose pieces for sax ensembles. How did you get started? I’m not sure if there’s certain forms and rules to follow when composing.
Picked up alto sax as a third instrument. Hopefully, I’ll be good enough to play something like this one day. In the meantime, I’ll just look for crazy oboe scores lol.
Is this the version 2.0 of the piece that you mentioned in the description or is this before that? I'm asking because I noticed some differences in the score from the video you released of this piece a few years back, and I'm curious to know if those are part of the 2.0 or not.

@@TarnishedLord01 I'm glad I'm not the only one. Had to do a double-take
your playing was killer!
@@TarnishedLord01 same. I was confused for a sec!
i had to listen to that ending like ten times right away
I should know not to give saxophonists a challenge like “play this as fast as you can” 😅
As a fellow saxophone enthusiast I still swear that this is one of the best chamber rep made for saxophone. Nice work Chris!
@@brandoncriswell9837 Ahh thank you so much! 🥰
0:00 already a master piece
Chris doesn't miss. another masterpiece as always
@@CadeKuzniaSaxinet I try! Glad you enjoyed it!
Back at it again with the perfect fifth low sax chords! They are awesome and add so much to the piece. Another banger!
Love a good power chord! Tried to make this as heavy metal as I could.
@@cehass11 You succeeded in that. Amazing piece one of my favorites (although I can't pick since all of them are so good)

Holy WHAT I clicked on this because why not and I was amazing, intense composition, excellent performance and recording as well! This is wonderful!
@@MysteriousMusician33 Glad you enjoyed it!!
After leaving the band, I haven't had many excuses to play my sax again. Looks like I finally have one!

One of my favorite sax quartets🔥🔥The goal is to perform it one day🎷🫶
Thanks so much! I hope you can convince three of your friends to give it a shot!

Love a good mixed meter! Glad you enjoyed listening to this!
Intonation is impeccable.
The Sinta Quartet doesn’t mess around!
Master Piece
I absolutely LOVE the alto-tenor duet and the soprano-alto chorale!!!
Some of my favorite moments too! Just felt like I needed some lyrical contrast after all the craziness.
@@cehass11 Yeah I like that it adds balance to the piece between fast and loud and slow and peaceful, really well written great composition!!!!!

i have a question? do you have any tips for writing scores, specifically how to get different melodies to bridge together?
3:53 = frisson

@@ZachKSaxWow, what a small world! Mr. Yaros is good people!
@@cehass11 yeah hes great!
Is this in concert pitch, because I don’t notice any difference between Eb key signature and Bb key signature.
@@Ethan_Buchanan Transposing, the piece is just so chromatic it was easiest to not deal with a key signature.
@@cehass11 That’s what I began to think about halfway in. It’s almost atonal.
It appears to be heavily influenced by Iturralde's Suite Hellenique, is that accurate?
100%
Is this real? or fantasy😮😮😮😢😢😢
The key signature is confusing because nobody have any flats or sharps 😭
5:06 would be light weight for a tenor and bari player...
Though, as a tuba player, a brass arrangement of this piece would be extremely cool.
