The hardest part for me is not laughing. I find auctioneers so much fun to listen to, it absolutely tickles me to both hear it and to try it.

My dad told me of an Auctioneer selling tobacco pallets in a warehouse in Madison, N.C. He caught his pants on a small nail on one of the tobacco pallets and ripped a small hole in them as he was walking by. My dad said he never missed his rhythm as an Auctioneer but inserted "well, I tore my dam britches" ! A true professional he was! Thanks for the video!

Great videos! I was getting into Auctioneering years ago in my 20s. I am 47 now my kids are raised and gone and I am back into it and these videos are fun and helpful!! I have a long ways to go and Looking forward to more vids!

I'm just a 23 year old kid that wants to impress people by learning to do this. I stumble over my words a lot. Got the first simulated auction wrong by 2 bucks. But the other 2 were right. I'm gunna get the "dollar now" thing down before trying to add in anything else other than repeating the number 2 or 3 times. This is gunna be fun.

Wow, that’s awesome you should of introduced yourself. You are very good, love your videos. I too went to auction school in 2008 (Missouri). I just opened in 2018 and have lots to learn especially on my chant. I do practice and watch videos on a daily basis so I am very dedicated. Keep up the awesome videos ......... My husbands grandfather was an auctioneer and he loved to watch him work. He has always like to practice. And he would love to learn more.
Well that was the best time I've had in a long while.
Last evening, I was watching storage wars & storage hunters. I said to myself wow, that sounds like a lot of fun and it also sounds really hard definitely a challenging. I like how it involves singing and using your voice ..... so I decided to look it up on UA-cam and learn the craft. This is the first video I found, and it will be the basis of my learning. I am loving it. I will be a professional soon. 😁 it’s really fun to learn new things.

I just found this video. I love the freestyle portion. That is actually one of my hardest things that I need to work on is remembering who has the bid and remember which number was bid so that I’m not cheating anyone. That’s for the videos and keep it up. I will definitely be watching the rest.
Hey Ethan!! Ya remembering bid prices and bidder numbers is very important but practice will make it become second nature (though mistakes are always bound to happen). I still transcribe numbers or forget what is bid at times, thats were having a great Clerk can save your hind end!! Sounds like NOW-WOW..the faster i go. Lol, my called it out. I had to go back to listen, You have helped me learn..THANK YOU!! Now lets do work on those" fills".. A truck driver on the road with nothing to do for 10 hours. Why not learn something About something else... Was always interested, but yes, did get more from storage wars. But my first was being an Alley sorter at the livestock market. I have seen you're filler word video as well... You are a great teacher. I can't count money the same anymore, not even if it's in my own hand. Lol

Great videos, Blake. Love ‘em. My dad and I went to the Texas Auction Academy in Dallas, TX in ‘94 when I was 17. Mike Jones was and is the president and instructor. Unfortunately, I didn’t do anything with it, but my dad and I had a blast. I am planning on going back as soon as I save the money.

I am on my second auction on to the third. I started my own Booger Pickin Auction in Alabama Im trying to take on consigners and get a place to hold live auctions. Funding at this time is low so Im learning the best way I know how. UA-cam school.

Wow! This is the best bid calling video I've seen to date! (I'm not an auctioneer, but my uncle Al May of Cabot, VT was "The Man with the Derby Hat" and I love to practice bid calling in his memory.) :)

This is the best practice for doing Monopoly Auctions
I love this, thanks so much. How do you do a chant when you are having a hard time getting a certain number. Where you have to ask for the same number over again.
Thats a great Question JBL Creations!!! One of the reasons we will review and practice so many different filler words is for this exact circumstance. Lets say the bidding slows down at $4 and you are asking 5 but your other bidder is really thinking hard so you need to stall to give them the time they need ....this is where we start utilizing COMBOS of filler words that roll together nicely and we kind of ping pong between the number we have (4) and the number our other bidder is thinking about (5)
Example: Im Bid 4 Dollar Now 5,5 Would You Give 5,5 Anybody Wanna Give 5? (Pause) Im Bid It At 4 Dollar, Would You give 5,5,5 Would You Give 5,5,5 Dollar Now 5?
P.S. I think this would make for a great future video so keep your eyes open!!!

Used to go to Mannheim auto auction every Friday with my dad when I was growing up and I am literally in my truck right now driving down to a job site in Washington DC pretending that I am auctioning off Volkswagens at Mannheim 😂😂

I can't seem to get my chant going well with those numbers. I'm new to this, but will be attending auctioneering school in the spring of 2020, so want to get as much practice in as I can first! I've been attending auctions all of my life with my dad and now with my husband. My dad always told me that I'd make a great auctioneer, but I never pursued it. He passed away last month and now it's my mission to pursue this. Thanks for the great tutorials and please keep making these videos - it means a lot to us :)
T Cole!!! Thats awesome that you are making auctioneering your new mission/ journey. What auction school are you going to attend??? I plan on making a video on practicing 2.50 soon. Things have been really busy the past few months for me. November my schedule will slow down dramatically and we will get back on a steady schedule again. You should take the Auction Syndicate challenge and record yourself selling and send it in. Id love to hear your chant and maybe we can work on a few things before you depart for school!!!!

I would say try and slow down your chant, practice slowly and the speed will come!!

When my girlfriend graduated from auction school, she wanted to see what an auction house sale was all about. We went to your sale this past winter. You’ve got a great setup. So I'm a singer at the local opry. I heard The Auctioneer by Leroy Van Dyke for the first time on my Pandora radio last night. I just have to sing that song. But...I'm going to need some auctioneering skills to do it. Looks like I found the perfect channel!
Brad, The Auctioneer Song is a classic. Ive been taking Vocal lessons with an instructor that used to sing in the opera . Talk about amazing. Learning to sing has helped me so much in my ability to auctioneer. I look forward to every lesson i have with my instructor. Once you master the song you should record it and i can post it for the Auction Syndicate Community to enjoy/ gooooogle over!!! Cant wait to here it brother.
@@AuctionSyndicate As a singer, I have been able to recognize from videos I have been watching that some auctioneers do take lessons from singing instructors and do vocal warm-ups before they auction. I will let you know when I sing the song. I'm pretty excited about where this might go.
