LEXUS/TOYOTA: How to Replace Door Belt (Chrome Window) Molding
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- Recently, I noticed that the door belt molding got damaged after running the vehicle thru a few car wash machines. So what better thought than share how to replace them in a video to help others save some time and money. The parts aren't very expensive and replacing them is pretty simple if you know how to do it.
Steps:
1) Roll down all the windows
2) Verify order parts are right (do a visual fit test besides checking the part number)
3) Remove the old door belt molding
4) Clean surface before installing molding
5) Install replacement molding
6) Test rolling windows up and down a few times
7) Relax and Enjoy !!!
This is filmed on a 2020 Lexus GS 350 F Sport RWD. This video content may help others who have Toyota or other Lexus models also. Take note that some vehicles may have a screw near the end of the belt molding that needs to be removed before the molding can be removed as in the LX SUV models.
Also, it may work for other vehicle makers.
Please help post a comment if it worked for your vehicle.
These part numbers are for the 2013-2020 Lexus GS models for the door belt molding. This is not the weather stripping molding (that's a different part).
Note: The part numbers are different for your vehicle if you have a different vehicle altogether. Check with the dealer against the VIN number to avoid costly mistakes.
1 Door Belt Molding (Left, Rear) 7574030440
1 Door Belt Molding (Left, Front) 7572030500

Once I figured out how to replace the door belt molding, it was quite easy to do.
Thanks for watching.

Thank you very much! I am going to replace the driver side, rear door belt molding of 2017 ES350 and I did not see a screw so I am sure it is the same way you did yours.
I'm looking for that yellow clip on the trim ... Do you have a part number, name or link to buy some? All of mine are broken
I believe you have to purchase the whole chrome piece with it. I don't have that part number. Maybe try calling a Lexus dealer if you have it.
Did you find the part number? Also looking for that yellow clip to replace mine. Ty!
@@lipemdo3 nope, i have to use glue :(
Hello... Do you know if the Camry XSE is similar but at the top of the rear window?
Yea, very likely since all Toyota are built similar.
I need to replace bth front door moldings on my 05 taco, is it the same?
Should be similar on taco.
Thanks so much for this video! Do you know if it's a similar process for a 2012 IS250?
Yes it should be similar
@@netman88 Thank you so much!
Please post a comment on vehicle model if it worked for ya. Thanks.
Thank you. Super easy
Do you know if the Camry xse is similar?
Very likely, Toyota makes their cars all very similar.
would this be the same for removing window trims on a 2015 is250?? or would i have to remove the entire door to get to the window trims?
Yes, should be similar. I never fix the top part, that maybe more work involved.
was looking for a tutorial for 4runner, but I assume it might be a very similar process?
Yes, it should be similar. Toyota makes their vehicles all similar
I happened to have some dents on the upper part of the door as well as well as the bottom from hail and it drives me crazy. Is it hard to do the top portion of the door. Its the rear passenger side. I would appreciate tips
Thanks
Yes it seems a bit harder to remove
Can you do a video on how to remove the carpet in the GS? I want to add some soundproofing, but don't know how to remove the different pieces to get underneath the carpet. TIA
Sounds like a big job. You'll need to unplug and take the seats out, remove the door trims, etc. Maybe an auto body shop can help.
I'll be attempting this with the 2003 IS300
I need to replace all four on my 03 GS. Wish I was in the US to get these parts easier.
Thanks for posting. This saved me so much time.
You're welcome!
I need one for my 2000 Camry driver rear window. Do you think I could find it on Amazon boss or where would you recommend I look?
Maybe the dealer may still have it. Prices maybe lower thru online dealers.
@@netman88 thank you!
Did you change the molding on your 2000 camry? What was the procedure, please?
@@TheParts1800 no. I still had the old molding. It was bent so I bent it back into place and kind of just clipped it back on the windshield
